I'm so glad you're having this quality family time with your precious boys before you start your new job on 11/11. I know it would be even better if Anne was able to be there with you. Today I worked on personalizing my email set up with Thunderbird. In the process I inadvertently selected an option that showed the "message source" in the header of emails - - which meant that the printer would print out the message source garbage before the email. It took me 2 hours to figure out how to "hide" the message source so that the emails would print out normally. I have NO IDEA how I managed to change the email headers but I'm ever so grateful that I figured out how to change it - - which at this moment in time I can't remember how I did it. The good news is that my emails print out normally again. I figured out a major difference between my new Canon printer and my old one - - my old printer has a "bypass" tray that I could use for envelopes. The new printer doesn't have this feature - - so every time I need to print an envelope now I have to take out the paper from the paper tray, insert the envelope, print the envelope, then reload the paper tray with paper. The printer is big enough that a bypass tray feature could have been included with it. Oh well - - such is life. If all problems had the simple solution of replacing paper with envelopes, and vice versa, what a wonderful life things would be. Sweet Buster is here visiting with me as I'm writing to you. He always helps to bring a smile to my day.

Speaking of tech issues. The other night I left my tablet on the ground with the case open and I think one of us stepped on it causing pressure damage to the bottom of the screen where all the screen controls are. Anne found a close out deal on Amazon for one that's actually newer and better for 35.00 (normally 70.00) and I've been working to figure it out. The only thing I don't like about it is it plugs in at the top with only a USB and had to install a sound booster app. I uninstalled a bunch of stuff on the old one and will use it still for Pandora when I'm in the shower as it does have good rich sound with the speaker I bought to go with that one. But I really like the new one over all though

Not much to report here. Not as many fights today except a little while ago when they both wanted attention (sigh) Soon it will be time to see to my boy's needs and those of the local waifs.

Have been working on my shred box today which was to the overflowing point. Had to let the shredder cool down a couple of times before I could finish the job but the box is empty now. Sweet Buster came by for a visit and stayed long enough to take a nap in the chair in the living room area while I worked on the shredding project. He left a few minutes ago to do his afternoon rounds - - he may come again for another visit later on.

It wasn't a phone, it was my tablet (WI-FI only) I still have a flip phone for my cell. But it was a good deal that came at a good time. Anne's last day was yesterday apparently as she didn't feel well this morning and it was so cold outside. She still has to turn in her badge and get her candy dish though.

Tang and Tyler liked having us both home today and we found a free on Prime Rifftrax on some Kansas City clown Christmas show from 1966. Delightfully bad.

Not much else happening here. I already put food out for the local waifs as I saw Tabby and Tyke milling about the bushes. I don't think they're used to it getting dark so early. Tyler and Tang have had their milk and the treats and Tang's shot will come later.

The new Canon printer requires separate toner and drum cartridges for it to operate - - which increases the cost of replacing them. The old printer's toner and drum were combined into one cartridge. This morning I was able to find an online vendor that sells the separate toner and drum cartridges for less money than what I would have to pay were they only available through Canon. So I can now begin setting aside funds each month so that I'll have the funds available when I need to purchase these cartridges. Sweet Buster has come by a couple of times today to say hello but not to stay. He's out making his neighborhood rounds as I'm writing to you. He may stop by for another visit later this afternoon.

Not much going on here today. We went to Walmart for our staples and a few thing for lunch and dinner. Anne found a whole bunch of Rifftrax she bought and DL years ago to her laptop and transferred them to DVD. They did the 1978 Star War Holiday Special that I remember from when I was 12. Even riffed Anne's comment was no wonder you don't like Star Wars (it was that bad, the commentary made it funny at least) Even the commercials were riffed.

Tyler and Tang are doing OK. The spats are are fewer and farther between. Tyler really is growing like a weed. He's like a gangly teenager now. they have had their milk and will get treats and Tang his shot later. Only Tyke was out there tonight, but rather vocal about his supper. So that's done for now.

We went to the old place to feed the waifs first thing this morning. No people, but no waifs either. Oh well, better luck next time. I hope they find the food OK.

From there we went to Dollar Tree and Kroger to round out the supplies for the week. Tomorrow we start the new jobs and I'm hoping it's what we are looking for. If nothing else, it will be nice for us both to be getting 18.00 per hour for a while. We can finally get caught up and also just in time for the holidays.

Tang and Tyler are doing OK for the most part. Tyler had to go into "jail" for a little while as he was being too rough with Tang. But that seems to be getting better as Tyler gets older. They have had their milk and the treats and Tang's shot will come later. Tabby and Tyke were already waiting outside, so I put their first round out.

I do sooooo remember how it was with my beloved Eli and Noah, and needing to encourage the both of them to settle down for a few minutes - - particularly when Eli would have tufts of Noah's fur between his teeth. No damage done to Noah - - just from their over zealous play.

Worked on Christmas cards this morning - - can't believe it's only 6 weeks away. Since temps warmed up so nicely with bright sunbeams and a gentle breeze I was able to take a walk. It took me a little over an hour to do a 1.4 mile round trip walk but it felt so good to be out in the fresh air. The rest of the week is going to be cold so I really wanted to take advantage of the nice weather today. Sweet Buster has been by for a brief visit a couple of times today but not long enough to settle down to take a nap. Can't say as I blame him for wanting to be out in the warm sunbeams today. Perhaps he will come by later for another visit.

Today was a real cluster. We had to wait 2 hours just to get into the building, deal with the usual malcontents of mass call center hiring and our credentials didn't work. We ended up having to leave at 7:00 rather than 7:30 as the shuttle service stopped and they had to have managers ferry people to the remote parking lot (the main one fills up fast) We just walked Just keep telling ourselves 18.00 per hour.

Anne dropped me off to go drop off her McKesson badge. Tyler is in "jail" again for overly aggressive play with Tang. But at least they both had their milk and Tang his shot. My waifs braved the weather, so I put their food out as well.

So, it wasn't our credentials (and a whole row for that matter) but no network connections on those stations. Oh, and we heard about 150 people got frustrated in the line to get in and left. More opportunity for us I guess.

I think I may have mentioned to you in a prior note that Roku is updating their technology and the streaming box I've been using on my bedroom TV needed replacing. This morning was spent getting it installed and all my programs recognized by the new device and logged into, etc.. It's up and running and the old device will go to the e-waste collection event next year. Sweet Buster did come by for a visit yesterday evening, and he has been by once so far today to check in and say "hello." He doesn't seem to mind the frigid temps.

Have been getting caught up on some overdue emails today. Sweet Buster has come by a couple of times for a visit, with his second visit staying long enough to take a nap in the chair in the living room space. He left a few minutes ago to do his afternoon rounds. He may return later on for another visit. He came by for a visit just before sunset yesterday evening and stayed long enough to take a nap. When he woke up it was dark outside and temps were already plummeting for the night. He attempted to leave through his door but when he felt the cold air on his face he backed back into the condo not in any hurry to go out into the cold temps. So I called his mom to let her know that her little boy wanted her to come get him, and she gladly came to pick up her sweet boy and take him home. He's such a sweet fellow. My brother called last night to let me know that he and my sister in law will be going to her mom's home for Thanksgiving. So Scarlet will be staying with me from 11/27-30. Her mother isn't strong enough now to make the trip here, and they need to spend as much time as they can with her.

So, with the holiday not being next week, but the week after that's the week we'll only get paid for 2 days. Still stinks though. We did luck out by leaving early today getting there and 9:30 and finding a spot on the main lot. Not enough to lift Anne's spirits overall though. I'm pretty sure she hate's everything about this job but the pay. Pretty sure she blames me too as she's bitten my head off every night this week leaving work. I tried to coax her into keeping her job at McKesson but made the mistake of being truthful that I'd miss her working all by myself at the new place. Now it's all my fault apparently

Tang and Tyler met us at the door and have had their milk, treats and Tang his shot. When I went to put the local waif food out I was greeted by Tabby, Tyke and Socks. The second round has also been put out.

We didn't luck out with the main lot parking lot today. We were held up a bit at the end of the day learning how to enter our time so we can get paid. This caused us to miss the first shuttle, and of course that was my fault too

I'm sorry the parking isn't more convenient. I remember having to walk at least a half mile from the parking lot to my building every morning and evening as there were no shuttle buses. Worked on reconciling the checkbook with the bank statement today. I'm always glad when that's done. Sweet Buster has been by for several visits today. When he arrived about 20 minutes ago he brought a little mouse with him, and we played "catch the mouse" for a few minutes. I finally got it in the dustpan and returned it outside. It was still alive but don't know if it was injured in any way. Sweet Buster searched for it here inside for a few minutes but has adjusted to the reality that it's no longer here. Not much gong on here. Used a couple coupons to have a decent lunch for under 9.00. We then went over to PetSmart to look in on the kitties. They had this gray and white and all white male and female that were really big. They were surrenders as their human was in a car wreck and had nobody to help care for them Made me think of Tom and Theresa.

From there we wandered around the mall and watched them set up the Santa setting with a Disney Frozen theme. From there we went to Walmart for staples and then home.

Avenger's End Game came in Anne's Netflix yesterday, so we watched that. Three hours long (whew) I guess Robert Downey Jr really is done playing Iron-Man. Sad ending.

Tang and Tyler are doing well. It was adorable watching them sleep in separate chairs in the living room getting sunbeams during the movie They have both had their milk and I will give them treats and Tang his shot later. I also put out the first round of food for the local waifs and spied Socks noshing that.

We went first thing this morning to feed the waifs at the old place and I saw Little Gray. Although she's not so little anymore. I think someone else may be putting food out. That and she's friendlier than she used to be.

From there we went to Dollar Tree and Kroger for the rest of the week's groceries. We came home and found a new Rifftrax free on prime. So we watched that and had lunch. Chicken from the Walmart deli from yesterday. The boys really enjoyed that

Speaking of Tang and Tyler, they are doing well. They have had their milk and I will give them their treats and Tang his shot later. I had the whole crew when I went to put the food out for the locals (Socks, Tabby and Tyke) Since Tyler was upstairs with his milk and Tang was focused on his, I felt comfortable leaving the door ajar between putting out the water then the food. Tyke doesn't try to come inside anymore, but Socks looked a little freak out.

He's got places to go, people to see, and things to do.

Another day on the new job. I think besides the parking what's bugging us the most is the over crowding of the building. Hoping this is a one off where the training is worse than the actual job. But calling insurance companies to verify benefits doesn't sound very hard, and 10 cases a day does not seem hard either.

Tyler and Tang were waiting on us when we got home a tad impatient. We had to stop at Meijer for a few items on the way home. They have both had their milk and treats and Tang his shot. The waif "family" was waiting on us too and they are working on round 2 of the food.

If I understand correctly your comments about the job itself I'm glad it doesn't seem an impossible task. I can relate to the overcrowding situation. Employers look to "studies" to define how much minimum square inch space an employee requires to perform a task - - but this does not include, or deliberately overlooks, the emotional impact of "sweat shop" conditions. I hope you and Anne are located close by to each other - - or at least within viewing distance - - when seating is assigned. Please let us know how things go. I'm chuckling at your precious boys being a bit miffed at you and Anne for your "tardy" arrival. I can just hear them "where have you been? Do we need to give you a curfew?" And I'm smiling at the waif family eagerly anticipating their evening provisions.

Have been busy working on scheduling online payments. With banks being closed next Thursday for Thanksgiving I have to schedule some payments earlier. Have also prepared checks to pay my taxes tomorrow when I'm doing errands. Sweet Buster has been by for a visit and he took a nice nap on my bed for awhile. He left about 20 minutes ago to do his afternoon rounds. He may return later for another visit. He came by late yesterday afternoon when it was raining outside. We had a nice snuggle while he waited for his mom to come take him home for the evening.

The way our area is set up is in a part of the building that wasn't a call center when we were there before (Vantiv) It's just a bunch of conference tables set up end to end with computers about every 2 1/2 feet; I'm sure you can picture that. We're hoping if by some luck we do get hired FTE, we'll be on the other side where there are actual cubes. There was/is no assigned seating (unless this unruly mob keep running their mouths) So Anne and I sit next to each other on the end of a row pretty close to a bathroom and small break room with an ice/water dispenser.

We were on time and then some getting home (Anne took the shuttle over to the remote lot while the trainer was in a meeting around 6:00 to get her car and drive over to the main lot) Tang and Tyler were pleased with this and both have had their milk and treats and Tang his shot. Anne said the waif family came around as I was in the shower for the first round of food and I just set out the second one for Tabby and Tyke.

I'm sorry you and Anne will have diminished paychecks for Christmas week. There's never a good time for a paycheck shortage, and the Christmas holidays is high on the list. I'm hoping the shortage in your paychecks won't adversely affect your financial stability - - that you'll be able to pay your rent, utilities, etc., and still have funds available for other things like food for you, your precious boys, and the waifs, and hopefully some funds remaining for some fun. I'm hoping as this week closes out at work that both you and Anne are beginning to feel more at ease with your new jobs. Please let us know how things go.

Have been working on bill-a-thon financials today - - scheduling online payments and organizing receipts for filing. When I went to print out a letter on my HP printer nothing happened several times. So I finally unplugged the USB cord from the back of the printer and then plugged it back in - - and it began printing just fine. High technology at work again. Buster's mom and dad had the sorrowful responsibility of easing their beloved feline companion Gabby's transition home to the angels on Wednesday, 11/20. She was 17 years old and suddenly went into a health crisis situation. She was already very frail due to her age, and they decided to try to make her transition journey as peaceful as possible with the assistance of Gabby's veterinary care provider. So I've been working on a memorial project for them to honor their beloved little girl. So their household now only has three precious souls: Bonnie, Buster, and their canine companion Buddy. Sweet Buster hasn't been by yet today for a visit but I may see him later on. It's been raining outside for most of the morning so his mom and dad may have been keeping him inside where it's dry and warm.

Sorry, I didn't post yesterday. It was a bit hectic. But we made it through another week and we did at least get paid. A lot of folks didn't (shades of Firstsource) I was afraid that because they added an e to the middle of my last name I was going to have a problem but I didn't Apparently as long as my tax docs and direct deposit was right (which they are) I'm OK.

Not much going on here due to the weather. We had lunch at the Jason's salad bar which we haven't been able to afford for a while. Then we went to Trader Joe's to look around since we were in the area and found some interesting looking crackers. Then we just came home and watched a movie on Netflix (Spider-Man Far From Home)

Tang and Tyler are doing OK and I just gave them their milk. I will get Tang's shot and their treats later. I also put the food out for the local waifs.

I'm not sure how the medicine is helping Anne as I have no idea if she's even taken any; she hasn't told me. Also, "family" for me tomorrow will consist of me and the the boys. Her older sister pulled her usual divide and conquer BS like she does every year. We were not invited because I wasn't invited (I did call her sister out on her BS a while back for being a jerk to their mother, so a no brainer on the her motives) From the drama of the texts back and forth I gathered their dad wouldn't come unless Anne was invited. Then he decided he wasn't coming at all for the break as he put it. So, once again, it's just me and the kitties. Speaking of the boys. They are doing well. They have had their milk (well, Tang did. I think Tyler's losing interest. Maybe can food for him going forward) I will give Tang his shot later as well as treats for both. My waif "family" was waiting for the food, so I put the first round out.

As you know family dynamics are not the easiest to navigate even in the best of times. I don't know the full background history but from my personal experiences Anne may be feeling like she's being put in the middle having to make a "choice" - - "it's either us or Tracy" and trying to maintain "loyalties" to keep everybody happy is nearly impossible. Also speaking from personal experience it sounds to me like you're getting the better end with having Thanksgiving with your precious Tang and Tyler. Anne will need your and Tang's and Tyler's comforting support when she gets back home to you. And that's an important thing to remember - - she comes home to YOU. I hope whatever the circumstances are that you and Anne will be be able to stay strong together.

It's been a quiet day here with Scarlet. She hasn't seen Buster out and about because there haven't been any tantrums at the windows. Have been enjoying reading a delightful library book called Cat on the Scent by Rita Mae Brown, and have caught up on a couple of emails.

Well, I think Anne's dad not coming regardless took the wind out of her sister's sails. Anne did show me the text saying we were both welcome. I'm sure Anne transferring her money to defray the costs had something to do with it In any case, I went. Her sister was nice which may or may not have been an act. Her brother in law and nephew are always nice. Her niece used to be but as she gets older not so much. But it was a good and uneventful meal. We picked her mother up and dropped her off.

Tang and Tyler are doing well but seemed a little down as we were leaving as that's he the time of day we eat when we stay home. They have both had their milk and I will put out treats and give Tang his shot later. I already put food out for the local waifs.

I'm glad you were able to go with Anne to her family's Thanksgiving dinner. From what you have shared in previous posts some members of her family have not always been very kind to Anne, so I'm sooooo glad you went with her yesterday, and I know she appreciates your faithful support and affection for her. I know your precious boys will "forgive" you and Anne for delaying their Thanksgiving celebration.

Have been working on the lap top today in preparation for taking it in to get W10 installed on it. I've removed some programs that I haven't used for a very long time that don't need to be transferred over to W10. I'm planning on taking it in next week for the upgrade. Scarlet is doing well today. She's very playful today and hasn't hissed at me today - - yet. She also slept with me throughout most of the night last night which was quite a blessing. And - - she hasn't had any screaming tantrums at sweet Buster if he's been outside around the condo - - so that's nice, too. Unfortunately with the much cooler and damp temps I'm not able to have the door open so that I can see if sweet Buster is here so that I can go outside to visit with him - - which is a bummer.

We were going to get staples at Walmart today, but seeing as our Walmart is a superstore, we opted to wait until tomorrow for that We used a Red Lobster coupon to have lunch, ran over to Petsmart to see the adoptable kitties which there were not many, but that's a good thing I guess. Then we just went to that Kroger to pick up a few things and came home.

Not much going on here today either. We had some lunch and went out to the Peddler's Mall deeper into Okalona we hadn't been to in a while. It wasn't too crowded (the rain probably) and found a few DVDs for about a 1.00 or less each. We then went to the Walmart in that shopping center and came home to watch one of the movies (Flushed Away, a DreamWorks Animation film)

Tang and Tyler are doing OK. They have both had their milk and I will give them their treats and Tang his shot later. I already put out the first round of food for the local waifs and just saw Tyke. I'm sure Tabby and Socks are around though.

Scarlet went home yesterday evening but not without protest of getting into her crate. When she wouldn't cooperate while my brother was here he left so that I could deal with her. I finally got ahold of her but she's very strong and clawed me on my right arm before I got her into her crate. I wish she could tell me what upsets her so about her crate so that I could do something to help her, but unfortunately the only way she has to protest is with her claws and teeth. So I've looked up animal handling equipment and found a pair of gloves on Amazon that I'll order to have on hand for the next time I need to get her into her crate. Sweet Buster hustled inside when he saw Scarlet leaving and is here with me now as I'm writing to you. I'm not sure where he is exactly but I know he's here somewhere. It's so nice to have his sweet company.

We went to the old place to feed the waifs, but I didn't see any. Anne says she feels better, but doesn't really sound like it. We then went to Dollar Tree and Kroger to round out the supply run. After that we came back here and watched an old movie I remembered from my childhood on You-Tube (the One and Only with Henry Winkler)

Also did a load of laundry this morning and just finished putting things away. Sweet Buster has been by to visit and took a nap on my bed for awhile.
