Hi, Tracy, hot Sunday afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits. By now your laundry chore is done, and hopefully you and your fur tribe are enjoying a leisurely Sunday together.

Looking forward to setting up your desk top at work is always exciting. Mondays are always hectic even for the "old timers" so just take your time and do the best you can. I know it may feel like you're being fed to the iions, but just remember - - you live with two smaller cousins, so I have every confidence you can handle it, my friend. I will look forward to knowing how your day goes tomorrow.

For a Christmas present I got John Grisham's latest book "The Litigators." I am just now being able to concentrate enough to read it, and I am so enjoying it. One of the attorneys I can so relate to: David Zinc - - an "escapee" from a cut throat large law firm who has gone to work for a slimy ambulance chaser firm - - and is loving it. Well, I haven't gone to work for a slimy law firm, or any other organization, but I can certainly relate to his being an "escapee" from a cut throat employer. Grisham's insight into human emotions and reactions is right on the mark.

The veggies seem to be ready so, and Noah is letting me know that it's time for his lunch, too. I hope your and your precious furkids are enjoying this Sunday, my friend, and that you, your precious Theresa and little Tang will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Please know you and your precious fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, Tracy, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. And once again, I hope tomorrow will be smooth sailing for you.

Peace and blessings,

Thank you moon_beam

Sounds like an interesting book; enjoy. I have not been able to buy any books lately, so I'm just re-reading old ones. Reading can be such a simple pleasure. Right now I'm re-reading the last in the series of ST Voyager "relaunch" (after they got home) with a new one due out in August. Good time for being back to work. Speaking of which, the phrase I heard was being fed ro the wolves. Same sentiment I guess. Thanks for the well wishes on that.

Internet went out again today right at the same time. I swear it's the people downstairs messing with it. Of course, the tech who showed up said it was an "outage" even though the rep on the phone said no. I think the first thing I'm going to do when I get to work is type in that apartment address. How much do you want to bet it shows no active service? If so, I'm reporting it to my sup. The rep said that while Insight has a key to the box because the wiring is theirs, the property owners are the holder of the original. I think perhaps the maintenance man has gone into the get free cable by paying me business.

Theresa and Tang have been having a lazy Sunday. Tang has moved on from laying in the tub to the bathroom sink blink.gif What's up with that? He worries me sometimes, but hopefully he's just being quirky. Not much else here. Hope you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy! Sunday afternoon greetings to you and your fur kids! smile.gif I'm sorry to hear your Internet went out again. Hopefully you can find out about the neighbors if you're allowed to check on them like that. When I got FIOS installed from Verizon the tech assured me that my neighbors couldn't steal Internet from me, because FIOS is very secure. I really like the faster speed, so I can watch stuff on the PC, like the soccer match England vs Italy. The Italians won, which is bad for the Germans as they will be facing Italy in the semi-finals. But I think the Germans can win. My girls have been fairly quiet this afternoon. Shelley watched the soccer match with me for the first half, and then lost interest. Mindy is not much of a soccer fan! smile.gif

I've heard that a lot about cats napping in the bathroom sink. Perhaps Tang just wants to stay cool! I don't think it's anything to worry about. I know you'll do just fine at work this coming week. It's okay to be nervous. You know we all wish you well! smile.gif
Tom's Dad
Thank you DannysMom

I'm not really a sports fan of any kind, but can relate to the joy of a fur kid hanging out to watch TV with us. As for staying cool, Tang usualy hangs in the tub for that. This evening his ear was a bit more of a mess than usual. The mass isn't any bigger, but it looked as if he'd been scratching at it; from the occasional drainage perhaps. I cleaned it good with swabs and the anisceptic wash. I'm thinking he relates being in the sink to ear cleaning and was trying to tell me something unsure.gif

But they are both chowing down now on the can food. Theresa left more in her bowl than usual, which delighted Tang no end. Hard to believe in less than 12 hours I will be on my way to my first day of work "solo" Thanks for the well wishes. I hope you and your girls are well this evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, very warm greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits. I hope your day at work is going well for you, my friend.

Late yesterday I got a call from my brother Jimmy letting me know he is coming tomorrow to work on my Snapper mower replacing the belts. He will be coming around lunch time and we agreed that he would have lunch here, visit for awhile, and then work on the mower. While I have lunch fixins' here I wanted to do something a little more special. So after I did the monthly bill a thon this morning I took the checks that I still need to mail to the post office and then went across the road to Krogrer and picked up some extra summer lunch fair for tomorrow. My nephew Matthew may be coming as well. It will be good to see him as he now has a permanent tenured teaching position at Ohio University beginning in the fall. He has been waiting for a tenured position for several years now since he earned his final PhD to teach at the university level. He has been supporting himself for the last 10 years doing guest professorship jobs at various universities. I am sooo thrilled for him, and I know he will do very well.

It's now lunch time here, and Noah is letting me know his tummy is now on "empty". I'm sure your precious Tang is okay shifting from the bath tub to the sink for leisure time - - everyone likes a change of scenery once in awhile!!! I hope you will soon be able to take both your precious furkids in for their check ups, as I know this has been weighing heavily on your mind.

I hope your travels home will be uneventful for you, my friend, with anticipation of an eager welcome home from your precious furkids. I hope you, your precious Theresa and little Tang will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Please know you and your precious fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, Tracy, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Peace and blessings,

How nice it will be to catch up with your family. I hope you all have a wonderful time. Today was supposed to be my first true "solo" but certain IDs were still not working, so I had to sit with someone again. When I left 2 still were not working which I reported. We will see tomorrow.

Yes, I got a card about Theresa the other day. I need to get them both in for check ups, even if I DO have to put Tang's surgery off for a bit (sigh) His ear was really dirty tonight; but the mass remains about the same. I'm looking forward to Wednesday being off, but NOT the long Saturday ahead ohmy.gif

Again, I hope your family visit goes well for all, and that you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits.

I hope today is going well for you, and that the "technical" issues can be resolved so that you can begin your "solo" work. Please let us know how things go.

I know getting your precious furkids their check ups will be a relief for you. It will give you an opportunity to have little Tang's ear evaluated and if / when surgery needs to be scheduled. This will give you a chance to do some financial planning for the event. One step at a time, my friend.

Today has been a long one and I am tired. Matthew will be returning to Ohio next week to begin the packing process and relocating to Idaho. He will be teaching on the main campus, and does have a place to call "home" when he arrives. So far he has only seen his new lodging through pictures sent to him from the realtor, but he thinks it will suit him until he has become settled and has a chance to get a lay of the land. There is no passenger rail service - - only cargo, so I told him he could hitch a ride in an eastbound cargo car like people used to do in days of old. He got a kick out of that. The next suggestion was to set up an airline "savings account" to pay for his tickets home. He thought that was a better idea. We had lunch, and then Jimmy tried to put the new belt on the mower but could not get the blade off to reach the pulley that feeds the belt to attach to the other pulley. So the Snapper mower is still on the sidelines. Jimmy was disappointed but I am not because he truly did give it a good try and for that I am very thankful. He was working with hand tools while the folks at the repair shops have hydraulic type tools, and that makes a BIG difference in how tight nuts and bolts get.

Noah stayed downstairs all the time Jimmy and Matthew were here. When I came downstairs after they left Noah was sooooo happy to see me, as I was to see him. I am looking forward to lots of cuddle time with my little boy this evening.

So this is the news from here. Soon it will be time for you begin your travels home to the eager greeting of your precious Theresa and little Tang.

Thank you moon_beam on this Tuesday eveing which now like a Friday for me.

I'm glad your family visit went well. I hope Matthew has safe travels and enjoys his new position. I hear It's pretty country up there. Too bad about your mower, but as you say Jimmy tried and that's what counts.

Taking Theresa and Tang in for their check ups is never far from my mind. If I could just get caught up (sigh) It's probably best to take Tang first so he can at least get evaluated as you said. It's time for both their rounds of shots, and that is paid for by the wellness plans; it's just the time and expence of getting them there.

Today I had all but one app ready, so I did indeed fly solo. The app I needed is for checking the modem/line history for signal issues, over usage, etc. I got it before the end of the day though. I keep getting told I'm doing well, but I still don't feel it. It did have to reach out for help via chat, and one on one a few times. But out of 30 plus calls, I guess that's not so bad.

I'm home now to the kids with the knowledge I can spend a little extra time with them since I'm off Wednesdays. I think that will be my new grocery day (and vet when possible) leaving Sunday mornings for laundry all be it with less sleep. I hope this finds you and Noah doing well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy! I'm glad your day went well. I'm sure you did just fine. Maybe you're just expecting too much of yourself. If other people tell you that you're doing fine just accept it and relax! smile.gif You can't expect to know everything just yet. Shelley gave me a scare yesterday, but she's better today. She is lying right across my desk as I'm typing this. I am so happy with my little calico girl! smile.gif And Mindy of course is a sweetheart too. I hope the rest of your week goes well. Have a nice day relaxing with Tang and Teresa tomorrow!

Hi, Tracy, greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits. Hope you and your precious furkids are enjoying today together.

Glad to know that your "technical" issues were resolved yesterday before you left work, and hopefully tomorrow all will go well with you. I have every confidence that you will be an "old pro" at your job very quickly.

Today has been a quiet one - - much needed from yesterday's activities. Noah has not ventured back upstairs yet. He never feels comfortable going back upstairs for awhile after visitors have been here. Yesterday evening he snuggled so closely to me and slept with me most of the night. For me there is little that can come close to surpassing the feeling of my precious Noah's sweet body cuddled next to me.

I hope today is being kind to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Today I slept until almost 10, wow! Since I went to the Kroger on Saturday, I only got a few things today; since Wednesday's will be like my Saturdays for such things from now on. I got my unruly mop cut (I hate that it grows so fast, especially in the summer) I also got a decent back pack for cheap on clearance at TJ Maxx. This will make my walks to and from the bus stop much easier (especially Saturdays) than with that heavy leather bag; which is more for "professional" purposes anyway.

Theresa and Tang and I spent a little extra time together today, though not as much as I would have liked. Hopefully as I adjust to this new schedule it will get better. I did take a nice dip in the pool when I got home as only one other person was there. Three more days until I'm off again. I hope you are right about my eventual proficiency with the job. For now it's still a struggle, but not as stressfull as LG&E. I'm glad Noah is adjusting to the company being gone. You are right that there is no better feeling than our fur kids snuggled up with us. I hope you are both well. TTFN

I posted about Shelley's health scare in her topic. She is better now, and I hope things stay that way. Maybe she has a sensitive tummy. Mindy's stomach seems to be made of cast iron. She has swallowed some tags off cat toys, paper strips, etc. She likes to chew on everything. Shelley is my "bug alarm". She meowed excitedly and repeatedly about a bug on the ceiling a couple nights ago.

I just read over that post. Poor Shelley sad.gif What does the vet think it is? Did they run any tests? I hope she will be OK. Theresa is my "rock" when it comes to over all good health. It's always the boy cats that have the problems, but I love(d) them just the same. Theresa is also my bug alarm and bird/squirrel "chatterer" I hope you and your girls are doing well tonight. TTFN

Hi, Tracy! Thanks for your well wishes for Shelley. They did an &%^ysis of the very stinky poop sample that I brought in, but found nothing. The vet thought it was a case of colitis brought on by stress. They gave me some probiotic tablets (Florentera) for Shelley. Thankfully, she likes them and eagerly chews them up when I put them in her food bowl. The tablets are supposed to restore balance in her intestines. They also gave her a shot of Convenia (a long-lasting antibiotic), just in case there's any bacterial infection. Shelley seems much better, and she is going in her litter box, but I can't examine her "droppings", because Major Mindy always covers up so quickly for Shelley. Mindy is the litter box police! smile.gif

I have not seen Shelley chatter at the birds yet. She does like looking out the window, but no excitement. Tina always got crazy about the birds and chattered away.
Tom's Dad
Hello DannysMom

Hi, Tracy, greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this very warm Thursday afternoon. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits, and that your travels home will be smoothe and uneventful.

I hope today is going well for you and that YOU feel you are making positive progress in your learning curve. One day when you least expect it everything will finally make "sense". I am soooo thankful that you are not feeling the stress levels you did at LG&E. This in itself is a very big positive.

The "really big news" (said in the fashion of Ed Sullivan) here is that I am now converted to antenna only service, and the DVD's and VCR's to both TVs (one upstairs, one here in the basement) are working wonderfully. It was a MESS trying to figure out all the cables leading here there and everywhere that the satellite installer had strung up last year. I still have the satellite service to figure out what I'm going to do - - do I cancel it now and pay the outrageous disconnect fee and get it over with or do I continue paying the monthly fee for the next 7 months and cancel the service at that time without the disconnect fee. I'm leaning toward just getting the service canceled and over with before next February. AND - - the new antenna has made the difference - - I CAN get the local PBS station now - - YAHOO!!!

Noah was confined to the basement bathroom during the 3 hours the contractor was here, so I didn't have to worry about him getting freaked out by the intrusion and trying to make an escape outside. As I'm writing to you he is curled up close to me taking a nap as the "retro" channel is showing oldie but goodies. As Hannibal Smith would say in the "A Team" "I love it when a plan comes together."

This is the excitement for today, and I must confess I am soooo glad this project is finally done. Once again, my friend, I hope today is being kind to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, Tracy, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Thank you moon_beam, and greetings on this HOT day. 103 on my weather widget as I type. And it felt every bit ot it on the way home. It's supposed to be this way for the next 3-4 days. Saturday walking that extra mile coming home will NOT be fun blink.gif

Today we got a little busy; partial outages. I still struggled, and I think the only sup (the other is on vacation) was starting to get frustrated with me. But then, even he didn't have all the answers, so...yeah. Less stress for now, but I suppose that could change any time. I dodged a bullit being off on Wednesdays (swiiching from that other schedule) otherwise, I would have had to work the 4th taking a cab because TARC will be on Sundy/Holiday schedule.

I'm glad you got your antenna hooked up. Too bad about Noah having to be locked up. What ever you decide about your satelite, I hope you will be happy with it.

I had to admonish Tang tonight for being a "food bully" He just could not wait for Theresa to finsh her can food atop the box I put her on to avoid such things. Next thing I know her bowl is on the floor face down. I told Tang "just for that, you don't get any leftovers" But, I can never stay mad at either of them. After all, they are all I have. Life is too short. Tom taught me that sad.gif That's all for now. Hope you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, hot Friday greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious fukids doing well and in good spirits. As always it is a blessing to get caught up on your news.

Yeah, unfortunately outages can lower the tolerance levels of even the best natured person (hoping, of course, that the sup that was on duty yesterday is basically good natured). And it is especially challenging when you're the "new kid" trying to respond to the calls - - it can make you feel very overwhelmed very quickly. I hope today is going better for you, my friend.

Poor precious Theresa - - sounds like she needs to tell her brother to back off while she's having her meals. I know daddy will find a way for his little girl to have her meals in peace. During the last few weeks of my beautiful baby girl's earthly journey as her appetite waned from the cancer, my Noah would encroach upon her food bowl as well. When I finally realized what was happening I would stand guard over her while she was eating and when Noah made approaches to take over, I firmly but gently prevented him access to her bowl until she was done. Then I removed her bowl from their dining table so that he could not devour the leftovers. So I do understand the challenge your little Tang is presenting.

Today is a WONDERFUL day - - no contractors here for Noah to have to be restricted. Knowing he was safe yesterday in the bathroom - - and it's a good sized bathroom - - allowed me to focus on what needed to be done with the antenna work. Thankfully this is the last of the major contractor work for quite awhile, so Noah has his domain back.

It's supposed to be a very, very hot day here with temps reaching above 100 degrees at some point in time, and a very hot weekend. Well, it is summer and Sunday will be July. I do hope that your walk home from the bus will not be too treacherous for you, my friend, in the heat.

It's a slow and easy day here. I hope today is being kind to you, my friend, and your precious Theresa and little Tang, and that you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, Tracy, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Posting on my lunch hour as tonight, time will be at a premium. Have to get out and going an hour earlier and getting home an hour later tomorrow than the usual weekday. Plus the walking in the 100 degree heat (blah)

I don't mind letting Tang have the leftovers providing he does not "bully" her. Hence putting her up on the box. I'll keep an eye on the situation, of course. I'm glad Noah had his freedom today and that your antenna is working out for you. The vet called for the appointments which I will have to put off a bit more (sigh) I just keep telling myself I WILL get there.....

4 more hours to go before heading home to my brood. If I don't post again until tomorrow, here's hoping you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi Tracy,

How are things going with you and furbabies? I hope your work and travels are going well and I hope you all are keeping cool. Storm came through last night, but not bad right here.

I am worried about moon_beam. I hope she and Noah are okay, maybe a power outage. I hope nothing worse.

Blackie is doing okay. The carport is shaded all day and he sleeps on the cool concrete under the car. He gets plenty of cool water and good food.

My thoughts and prayers are with you Tracy....TTFN

Hello LoveMykey

Things are OK with me and the fur kids. Job is OK I guess. Some folks give me the impression I'm doing well, others not so much. As long as I keep getting to have a job it's good I guess. unsure.gif

I too am worring about moon_beam and Noah. She's never been gone this long as long I have been here. I hope it's nothing serious other than power and that she's getting help if so.

Storm blew through here last night as well. Ohio got hit pretty bad. Our outage board for them was lit up like a X-mas tree. Twice as many calls before lunch as we usually get all day ohmy.gif Finally they put a message on the IVR, thank goodness.

I'm glad Blackie is doing well. And that he has shade, water and food. He may not come inside, but he surely is your cat. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated. I hope you have a pleasant evening. TTFN

Hi Tracy!

I am so glad that you are here! smile.gif Don't worry so much about the folks who don't approve of you at the job. Just keep doing what you're doing and concentrate on that. I know you will do just fine! I am glad that you have power, but I too am so worried about moon_beam and Noah. I hope they're both okay. Knowing that she's out there in the sticks it could be a while before the power crews get to her house. Please let us know if you hear anything from her.

Thanks DannysMom

Given the apparent call center experienced labor shortage, I probably am not in danger of not having a job (hopefully) But I get this "cold shoulder" from the younger ones who seem to resent that I am not a fellow Charter refugee. But a nice lady in Telesales who sits behind me said I sound great on the phone. I suppose that's high praise from someone in sales.

I will certainly let you know if I hear anything from moon_beam. I'm worried. She's been so good to me. The only one who takes the time to post everyday to everybody.

I hope you and your girls are well. TTFN

I see concerns for moon_beam on this thread................ I sent her a message the day after the storms hit her area and I have not received a reply. Being without power in her area with this heat is not a good thing. She and Noah are in my thoughts also. Hopefully she will let us all know how she is as soon as possible.

Not trying to infringe on your thread Tracy........... I know we are all worried about her and you are so right about how supportive she is to all of us here. Hi, Tracy, greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this hot Tuesday afternoon. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits.

First I want to thank you and everyone for your most kind concern during my "silence." I assure you it was NOT my idea but rather that of the storm that rolled through the area on Friday, 6/29, at 9:30 p.m.. The good news is that power was restored late yesterday afternoon, which is 3 days earlier than the projected restoration on AEP's automatic update. For this I am very grateful. Internet service was restored late yesterday evening. So TA DA!! Here I am!!! No damage to the homestead, but I did have to empty all the contents out of my fridge, so I have a major re-stocking trip to the grocery store ahead of me after tomorrow. It makes me sick at heart to take 3 trash bags filled with frozen and refridge foods to the dumpster, but I'd rather be sick at heart than in the hospital dealing with food poisoning. Noah is doing well and is thankful for the resuming of the AC with the upstairs unit. Even though the basement living quarters is normally comfortably cooler in the summer, with the prolonged heat both during the day and evening even the basement was beginning to feel quite warm. Needless to say this has been quite an experience, to say the least, and my heart and prayers go out to everyone who is still enduring through the effects of the storm, and who are mourning the loss of the loved ones who lost their lives in the storm.

Tracy, I am so glad you are receiving support from at least some of your co-workers. I hope the ones who are not being supportive will extend to you the courtesy of letting you do your job in peace. Unfortunately in every job there will be people who will not be supportive, but hopefully the ones there will not try to make your work day miserable for you. Just keep doing the great job you are doing, my friend. And how are you feeling about how you're doing these days - - confidence levels rising (I hope)?

I am so ooo glad to know that you and your precious furkids endured the storm okay, and that our fellow friends here on this wonderful forum fared well, too. Believe me when I say I was thinking about you all through the weekend and praying that each of you were safe.

I am sooo glad you have tomorrow off, my friend, so that you do not have to contend with the holiday schedule of your transportation. I hope your travels home today will be safe and uneventful, and that you will not have to walk too far in the blazing heat. I know your precious Theresa and little Tang are eagerly anticipating hearing the familiar sound of your footsteps in the hall and the click of the key in the lock - - and the joyous return home of their daddy.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious fur tribe. Please know you and your precious fur family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Moon_beam, it is soooo good to see you back and that you and Noah are safe. I'm sorry about your food, but like you said, you don't want food poisoning........We all love you.

Tracy, I hope your work day has gone well. I'm sure you're doing a great job and don't let the negative ones get you down.....I hope little Tang and Theresa are doing well and have a peaceful and cozy evening.

HAPPY FOURTH!

moon_beam. So glad you are back and safe. My heart truly goes out to you and Noah and I hope you can get back to normal soon.

Thank you LoveMyMickey. Work was OK. I'm getting better I guess. Some things I feel comfortable with, others not so much. But, I keep trying.

So, tonight is my "Friday" night. The one night I can saty up and sleep in tomorrow. I'm glad I have the day off too, it being a holiday. Once a week of that mile plus hike both ways is more than enough blink.gif The kittles are happy about the extra time.

Tomorrow I must get provisions. I called in a RX to Kroger for last Wednesday and forgot to pick it up. Plus, I just used the last of the good litter, and the Iams bag is showing bottom ohmy.gif

I hope you ladies have a great evening, and even better 4th! TTFN

PS: I hope the fireworks don't scare Noah and Blackie too much.

Hi, Tracy, Star Spangled greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precoius furkids doing well and in good spirits on this yet another hot summer day. It is always a blessing getting caught up on your news.

Progress, however slow, is still progress, and it is good news to share that you are beginning to feel a level of confidence with some aspects of your new job. This is a beginning, my friend, - - the rest will follow in time and repetition of doing. Patience with yourself, my friend.

Last night a thunderstorm came through the regional area but not directly overhead the homestead. I could hear the thunder in the distance though. However, the lightning was close enough that it tripped the circuit to the fridge and computer. Thankfully that was all. All I had to do was press the "reset" button on the socket behind the fridge and power was restored to both appliances. I'm glad I have well and septic. The people who are on city services are under orders to boil their water because the treatment plants are not yet working. Amazing the havoc Mother Nature can cause.

Noah is doing well. He is on his window perch in the bathroom taking a little nap as I'm writing to you. Once he hears me go to the kitchen he will be wide awake and ready for his lunch. Fortunately we are far enough away from the community fireworks that we are not overwhelmed by the cannon blasts.

I am so glad you have this day home with your precious fur tribe, my friend, and hope the day is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly. May you and your precious furkids have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening as well. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious fur tribe. Please know you and your precious fur family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Peace and blessings,

Hi, Tracy!

Happy 4th of July to you, Tang, and Teresa. I hope you'll have a nice, relaxing day with your fur kids. It'll be another hot one here, 95 or thereabouts. Mindy and Shelley are fine, doing a lot of play fighting. Shelley is more than holding her own now. Mindy hissed at her and flattened her ears back when they wrestled last night. Shelley just looked at her as if to say:"Who, me?" They are so funny together. They wrestle and play fight any chance they get. Much to my dismay Shelley started using Mindy's litter box, and now the nice one upstairs goes largely unused. She even covers up now. I think the probiotic tables really helped her tummy. She eats those things like candy and "nags" me when it's time to give them to her.
Tom's Dad
Thank you moon_beam. I'm glad the storm activity was less dispruptive this time, and all you had to two was reset a few breakers. That happens to me sometimes in the winter if I forget to to turn off the space heater(s) before I vacuum (AKA the big red Tang/Theresa eater)

Thank you DannysMom. I'm glad to hear that Shelleys system is evening out with the probiotics. Perhaps you could move the other litter box downstairs to enourage more use? It might not matter as mine are side by side in the bathroom. And the larger one on the left is still the "prefered" litter bix (sigh)

I'm getting better, if only slightly, at work. It really is a lot to take in. It does not help when you get 5 different answers to a question in chat. Or when a sup comes over to help all frustrated at me and he does not have the right answer the first time either. Or that between the two of them I get told how to do the same thing two different ways. I guess it will all sort itself out eventually. I don't overly fret it. Or any of the other plethera of things that go wrong on any given day. This must be the acceptance I hear comes with age huh.gif

Anyway, it's been a pretty restful day. I'm definately getting more rest on my days off from this grueling travel schedule. But it beats the alternative, right? I hope you and your fur kids have a great evening. TTFN

Hi Tracy,

I'm glad you and furbabies had a restful day. We just stayed in and kept cool, except to put food and water out for the birds and animals......We haven't seen Blackie since yesterday morning. He's always out there for breakfast, but not this morning or this evening. I suspect somebody else feeds him too, because sometimes when he comes back in the evening he isn't very hungry....Anyway I know we have helped him become a loving cat instead of a hissing, smacking, and scared cat that he was before. I hope he is okay, but I do believe it's a she.

Well Tracy, I hope your work week and travels go smoothly. You and furbabies are in my thoughts and prayers. I always think of Angel Sir Tom too. Mickey chases him around sometimes, but it's only because he likes him. smile.gif ....TTFN

Keep cool. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this very warm Thursday. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits. I know you're at work at the moment, yet I know your precious furkids are counting the hours until daddy is home again.

It would be nice if the supervisors could get their act together and come up with one cohesive answer. I'm glad you're being able to take everything in stride, my friend. You have come through a very challenging time not having employment - - so this may be one of the reasons why you're being able to endure the challenge of establishing yourself with this job.

I'm chuckling at your experience at Kroger yesterday. I decided to restock the fridge today rather than wait until Friday. I knew the power had been restored to Rocky Mount longer than it has been here locally, so I went to WalMart this morning. Got there shortly after 7 a.m. when I knew the store would be pleasantly empty, and was back home before 9 a.m. I was also able to stop off at the dumpster on my way into Rocky Mount to deposit all the food that had been wasted in the power outage. The dumpster location was buzzing with activity. I'm so glad I bit the bullet and did the shopping this morning because when I got out of WalMart it was already feeling hot with temps forecasted close to 100 degrees later on. Noah hasn't seen me leave the house this early for 3 months and he was ever so glad to see me when I got back home, as I was ever so glad to see him waiting for me at the door.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I hope your travels today will be safe and uneventful, and that you will not have a horrendously hot walk to make during the final leg of your trip home. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious fur tribe. Please know you and your precious fur family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Another hot one out there. Glad you were able to get your provisions restocked and home to Noah. Yeah, I wish they could get it together on how to do things. But the one seems to be a bit of a jerk to people in general, so I just let it go. I'm so sorry, again, that you had to throw out all that food. But, like you said, better then getting sick.

Not much else going on (my lunch hour here) I hope you and Noah have a great day and evening. TTFN

Well, Tang's ear isn't getting any better. So, out of desperation, I did something probably ill advised. I took out another pay day loan online (the first one was small and not worth mentioning) I hope to at least have him evaluated next week and surgery scheduled - or both if I can. I really can't afford this long or short term. And I will probably extend more than is reasonable or wise. But he's running out of time and I can't lose him the way I did Tom sad.gif A former co-worker recently told me one of her cats got an ear tumor right before she died. Life is so unfair.

Hi, Tracy, greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this yet another hot summer afternoon. I hope this finds you and your precoius furkids doing well - - with the circumstances of little Tang's ear - - and in good spirits.

I am so sorry that you are having to use pay day advances to meet your financial needs, my friend, but I know from first hand experience that this can be a welcome service during financial challenges. I hope you will be able to get Tang's ear evaluated next as soon as possible, that the assessment will be hopeful, and that you will be able to enlist the services of your preferred veterinary practitioner. Please do let us know how things go.

I have quite a library of VCR recordings, some which had not had labels put on them through the years. Yesterday afternoon I became reacquainted with my VCR and remote control, and discovered many wonderful programs I had recorded. One tape would load into the VCR and then immediately eject - - regardless of how I put the tape into the VCR. Don't know what's on the tape, but I guess that cartridge and everything on it is "lost." I was a bit upset because I thought it had one of the classic film versions of The Phantom of the Opera on it as well as the final episodes of the new Zorro series with Duncan Regher. I had some blank cartridges and put them aside. This morning I checked out the blank cartridges just to make sure I had not rewound the tape after recording / viewing, and lo and behold - - on one of the tapes I found my "Phantom" and "Zorro" recordings. YEA!!!! I am a happy camper!!! And now every cartridge is labeled, numbered in sequence, and I have my VCR library ready for the pickins'. It is so nice to have my VCR working with my TV as well. I was a bit concerned that it wouldn't work with the HDTV, but thanks to the antenna contractor it is working wonderfully.

I hope today is treating you kindly at work, my friend, and that your travels home will be safe and uneventful. I know your precious Theresa and little Tang are eagerly waiting for the familiar sound of footsteps in the hall, the click of the key in the lock, and the joyous reunion with their Forever Dad. May you and your precious furkids have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious fur tribe. Please know you and your precious fur family are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas. And please let us know how things go with your precious little Tang.

Peace and blessings,

I didn't expect to get approved for so much. The fee is just under 20% which isn't terrible for such a loan, even if I have to extend it. I just feel like I have been living in denial about Tang. Each night I come home and his ear just does not look good. I think even some tresiderm would probably help at this point; or some other med. I'm going to ask if the attending vet at my Banfield is comfortable doing the surgery, and if the pricing is in line with what Dr. Mills quoted. If so I will have it done there. I just feel in my gut I should not wait too much longer.

I'm glad you were able to get your VCR and videos in order. That's always nice. Glad you found your movies. Some people think VHS is old school, but I still tape programs from time to time.

Work was OK. Getting there, bit by bit. I even had a customer ask for a sup to give me a compliment about his service. So, that's nice I guess.

I'm heading home to my fur kids, and not looking forward to getting up an hour earlier tomorrow and that long walk to the first bus stop after work. But gotta do what we gotta do. I hope you and Noah are well this evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy! I hope that things aren't as bleak as they look with little Tang. Hopefully the surgery will be successful and extend his life. I know it's so hard when our fur kids are having health problems. It makes us feel so helpless. I am happy to hear that things are going well in your job and that you got a compliment from a customer. That is always a nice boost! smile.gif Shelley and Mindy are fine, but they are struggling with the heat. My AC can't keep up, and yesterday the thermostat went up to 84. Mindy was sighing and so was Shelley. I've put up an oscillating fan which helps a bit.
Tom's Dad
Thank you DannyMom

The last time I consulted with Dr. Mills (via the nurse on the phone) I was told it's most likely not life threatening, but should be dealt with as soon as it can be. I was going to have the procedure done at my regular Banfield, but was told (again via a nurse on the phone) the new attending vet is not comfortable doing it. Seriously?! What kind of vet is she?! That is my location where I always go, and I feel I should be able to have it done there w/o the extra expense of having to go across town. She said she'd look into Dr. Mills coming there one day to do it, but I'm not holding my breath. They really just don't seem to care like they used to. I'm still going to push to get a competent vet at MY location to do it if it's Dr. Mills or someone else. If nothing else, I will at least get him in for his exam and shots. See if they can give me some medicine to give him some relief.

I'm sorry to hear your AC is acting up. I hope you can get it working right soon. Sighing is one thing, but if Mindy and Shelley start panting, then it's HOT. I hope both you and they are doing well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, good blistering hot Caturday greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits. I know you are at work as I'm writing to you, but hopefully soon your day will be coming to an end and hope your travels home will be safe and uneventful. Please take it easy in your walks to and from bus stops as it is 101 degrees here at the moment with a heat index of 108 degrees (the heat index is down 2 degrees from an hour ago).

Adding my congratulations to DannysMom's on the compliment you received from the customer you supported yesterday. I hope this helps boost your confidence in your continued "learning curve" with the job.

As you can see it's hot here today. This time last week Noah and I were "surviving" through the power outage staying as still as we could not to stir up any unnecessary heat inside. With the help of the AC today I expended the energy to clean the bathroom. Fun, right? I would have done this last weekend but got a temporary reprieve with the power outage. I'm glad I finally have the job done for awhile. Noah was a bit upset during the process though because I was interrupting his routine of getting up on his bathroom window perch. I closed the door while I was cleaning because I did not want him investigating with the cleansers in use. When I finished he immediately got up on his window perch and kept me company as I took my shower. He was a happy camper once again.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I hope you are able to get the proper medical assistance for your little Tang's ear, and please do let us know how things go. Hi, Tracy, hot Sunday afternoon greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits. Hopefully by now you have the laundry done and you and your precious furkids are enjoying a lazy Sunday together.

Noah and I are keeping a low profile today. He is stretched out next to me taking a nap as I'm writing to you. The A C is humming quite nicely, too, for which I am very thankful. Some folks had their AC units fried with the power outage, and are now having to pay prime dollars to get them repaired.

Ants have been invading the basement living quarters since the power outage, particularly in the kitchen area. So yesterday I placed several ant traps under the sink and stove to try to persuade them that they are not invited guests. A couple of weeks ago I put fresh ant traps behind the fridge but I guess that wasn't enough to discourage them. I think they have been coming in through the drains. So far today I haven't seen any, so I hope the invasion is over with. I guess it's too hot outside even for the picnic pests. Like you I am looking forward to the cooler temps forecasted for this week.

I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious fur tribe. Please know you, your precious Theresa and little Tang are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

I'm sorry to hear about the ants. Your power being out during a heat wave may be partly responsible. I hope you can get it under control. We may all be God's creatures, but not all of us are compatible to coexist in one place. I'm gald your AC is functioning though.

It's been a "low profile" day here as well. Got the laundry done and zonked on the sofa for hours, with either Theresa or Tang coming along here and there for snuggles. This new schedule is making Sundays very much a day to recharge as it were.

I'm still waiting for the loan money to show up in my account. Tomorrow most likely. Then I will make an appointment for Tang's check up and shots etc. At that time I will see about at least getting some medicine to keep out infection. I think that's what Im seeing and cleaning. I have to admit with the tresiderm it looked much better. I'm still battling with Banfield about getting the surgery at MY location. Even if that means they have to trade one day. I know for a fact that they do this from experience. I fired off an email to corp. HQ about it.

It's been cooling off from the cold front; briging thunderstorms with it. The rumblings of which I'm hearing now. That, of course has Tang antsy. But I assure my boy that it's not like the night he was rescued and that he's safe now. He's kissing my leg as I tell him that. And reminding me it's can food supper time. I hope you and Noah are well. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, good evening greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits. Hopefully soon it will be time for you to begin your travels home to share a peaceful and blissful evening with your precious furkids. And I hope your travels home will be safe and uneventful.

I hope you received your advance today so that you can proceed to make the vet check for your little Tang. I know the sooner you get him evaluated and his immunizations up to date the better you will feel. And I hope the Banfield office closer to you will be of service to you.

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. tonight. I sure hope that the storms lose their intensity as they pass through the region and the immediate area because there are some folks who have just gotten their power back today. I hear some thunder in the distance on occasion, and there's a light rain outside at the moment. Temperatures are cooling down quickly, and hope the AC will have a chance to rest for a few days.

Today I did a catalog of my VCR tapes as it will be easier for me to read the contents of the individual tapes from a printed catalog than off the labels. I discovered that I have two classic recordings of The Phantom of the Opera - - one version with Claude Rains and the other with Herbert Lom. So I have included in the catalog which tape holds which version. This is another project I have been wanting to do for awhile, so it is now crossed off the "to do" list.

Otherwise today has been a very low key day finally getting caught up on e-mail correspondence. Noah is doing well and is keeping me company as I'm writing to you. I hope today is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious furkids will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious fur tribe. I hope the T storms miss you and that you don't lose power again. Way to go getting your VHS library organized. I'm sure that will make life easier.

I did get my funds today and made Tang's appointment for Wednesday at 9AM when I'm off. I tried to discuss the surgery again, but was given the run around (again) Let's see them blow me off in person. I'm not above bringing up the butcher that hastened poor Tom's demise. I figure if I say that around other patrons, I will be heard. I will let you know how it goes.

I finally cancelled my newspaper subscription. They tried to talk me out of it again, but I said unless they are willing to fire the carriers and distrobution managers that have been so terrible, no thank you. So, it's done. I'll just stop and buy a paper when (or if) I want one.

One more day until I'm off and can see to Mister Tang. I hope you and Noah have a great evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy! Greetings to you and your fur kids. I hope everything goes well for Mr. Tang on Wednesday, and that you'll be able to get a good vet to do the surgery. I'm waiting for the maintenance guys to install a new compressor in the air conditioner tomorrow (hopefully). I was told that they should get the part in tomorrow. We really need some relief. Me and my girls are just so exhausted from the heat in here. My thermostat is still up to 84 now. I've got a portable AC in the bedroom, but it runs all the time and only cools the bedroom down somewhat. Mindy is trying to stay close to the bedroom to get some relief. I've been crying because it's just me and my girls here and nobody seems to really care. Just feel so all alone and am so tired of always fighting all these battles alone.

Hello DannysMom

I hope they get your AC fixed stat. I'm glad at least you have your window unit. But you are right, it only does so much. I feel your frustration in fighting uphill battles all alone. That's what usually makes me finally go ballistic on the uncaring folks. A fact I will remind the good folks at Banfield of Wednesday. But, know that it's not true nobody cares. I care. *HUGS* I hope you and your girls are OK and can keep cool. TTFN
