This morning we went to the old place first thing to feed those waifs, but I didn't see any. Still, I will continue my efforts. Then we went to Walmart for a few things for a meals the next few days. Then to Aldi to get seltzer water. They had the lemon and the lime but were still out of grapefruit, a favorite for us both Oh well.

Looking at the start date of this thread, I realized I missed a milestone on the 21st. The 8 year anniversary of bringing Tang home Can't believe it's been that long. Speaking of my baby boy, he's had his supper and will get his shot and treats later when I put the food out for the local waifs.

I can imagine your and Anne's aggravation about the message from Meijers, but the good news is that you both have new jobs beginning today for Anne and tomorrow for you. YEA!!!!! And I know the waifs at your previous residence sincerely appreciate your and Anne's continued provisioning on their behalf. I know your precious Tang is grateful for every moment of every hour of every day of every year he has with you and Anne.

I had started to log in yesterday to post but got distracted by something or another and then didn't realize until this morning when I woke up that I had failed. Still I hope you, your precious boy, and Anne had a wonderful holiday yesterday. Today I made the decision to transfer my cell phone service to US Cellular. They are not planning on dumping their basic service anytime soon because it is still popular among the non-techi population. It will be a basic LG flip phone and will arrive at the store tomorrow. So tomorrow afternoon I will begin the process of having my number ported over from Net10. The down side - - and there's always a down side - - is that my monthly charges will be double with US Cellular than what I was having to pay for Net10. Oh well - - can't have everything. The most important part of this transaction is that I will no longer have to deal with "smart phone" technology. And that in itself will be a relief. When everything is set up I am planning on returning this smart phone to Net 10 and hope I will get some kind of a credit toward my credit card. When I got back from the store I had a voice mail from my brother requesting Scarlet to stay with me next week while he and my sister in law are visiting her mom at the rehab facility. Beautiful Bonnie came for a visit early this morning to say hello before going on her daily rounds, and sweet Buster is with me as I'm writing to you.

All I get is stonewalling about how they need the approval of my manager on the client side and can't track her down? Translation? I never had the job and it was all a big mistake but I've been to orientation and signed all the paperwork. So, it's too late, legally, to rescind the offer and now they are hoping I'll get discouraged and go away. Sorry but, I really cant even continue this thread and am not sure I'll be back.

I have signed up for cell phone service with Consumer Cellular and should be receiving the phone hopefully by tomorrow so that the porting process of my existing number can begin. I like the phone as it's especially designed to be user friendly for the non-techi senior citizen. For the monthly unlimited talk and text I will only pay $19 a month which includes a 5 percent AARP discount - - I renewed my AARP membership just to receive that discount. So I'm looking forward to getting this issue resolved. I'll let you know how things go. Haven't seen Bonnie or Buster yet today but may see them later on this afternoon.

Just checking in with you to let you know I'm thinking about you and hoping that you're doing okay while you're waiting for your start date at McKesson. I can sympathize with your situation as I experienced a similar situation "back in the day" when I was employed - - between employers. Murphy's Law "if anything can go wrong it will" certainly applied but it did eventually get straightened out and I began the new job I had been promised but was in jeopardy because of sudden "job freezes" put in place by the employer the very day I had been offered the job - - unbeknownst to the interviewing supervisor. Whatever the circumstances are in your specific situation I'm hoping they will be resolved so that you can begin your job soon. Please let us know how you're doing.

I still have no start date as of today. So it's to the plasma clinic tomorrow and started a go fund me. I got a call from computer share and hopefully will find more about that Monday. Not much happening here today. I received my new cell phone yesterday - - a flip phone from Consumer Cellular. After much communication with Consumer Cellular and Net 10 with finally a Consumer Cellular supervisor taking control of the fiasco, the transfer of my Net 10 phone number finally began yesterday evening and finished early this morning. So now I can return the "smart phone" to Net 10 and hopefully get a refund to my credit card. So we'll see how long Consumer Cellular continues with its "non smart phone" cell phone service. Haven't seen Bonnie or Buster yet today but may see them later on.

We didn't do much today. Went to feed the waifs at the old place and saw a new black and white kitty and Little Gray as we were leaving. From there we went downtown to the plasma clinic but were told they were not sure they could take new donors today and even if they could it would be at least 4 hours. So no 50.00 each there today. Since we were downtown and it was nice we took a walk down to the river. I like being close to large bodies of water I guess.

Tang seems to be doing OK, and soon it will be time for his supper, shot and treats as well as food for the local waifs. I hope you have a good evening in the company of your fur-ever angels.

Spoke with a Net 10 rep this morning to find out how to return the Android phone. When I received the Android phone from Net 10 I pulled the shipping label from the box and discarded it. Turns out that had the return postage and instructions on it. So the Net 10 rep gave me the shipping address to return the phone. I had to pay $10.40 to ship it back USPS with a tracking number. Oh well - -. I was able to return the case and stylus pen I got for it from Amazon through Amazon's website which provided a UPS shipping label for $5.99 taken out the refund I will get. So at least this stuff is taken care of. I really like my flip phone from Consumer Cellular. Scarlet arrived this morning. She's on top of the cabinets over the stove in the kitchen as I'm writing to you. I know she is already counting down the minutes, hours, and days when she'll be back home with her mom and dad.

Today has been busy working on financials and getting all the paperwork organized from the cellphone stuff. I really like my new cellphone - - it's just what I want - - just something I can have with me when I'm out on the road in case I need to call AAA or other assistance. Was able to visit with Bonnie and Buster yesterday evening when I took their mom's and dad's mail over to them. Scarlet is doing better today - - she's finally eating and using her latrine - - neither of which she did yesterday as she was waiting for her mom and dad to come back and take her home. Today I opened the small window in the dining area so that she could get up in the window and get some fresh air. She has enjoyed that.

So, we went down to Labor Works after Anne got off....how shall I put this? I've seen hard core prisons on reality TV that were less scary looking. Anne said she'd fear for my safety in such an environment, and I couldn't really argue. So I guess it's back to the plasma clinic and the first time donor wait. Per their fee schedule one can make 400.00 per month going 2X a week. Hopefully between that and her wages we'll squeak by until I can get a job. The only call I got from RemX today was cease and desist reaching out to other people Jerks.

Tang seems to be doing OK though. He's had his supper and shot and will get his treats later when I put the food out for the waifs. I have not seen Dulcinea in 2 weeks and Tweak and Butters only sporadically. I hope they're all OK

They just wanted to scan my IDs to get me back into their system. Labor Works was to be temp labor. But, like I said, it was scary looking.

My brother called to let me know that he and my sister in law are detained at her mom's home because it's proving harder to set up private duty services than they expected. I went through the same challenges with my mom, which is why I knew I couldn't stay in my lovely little home in the woods because of the "inconvenience" to service providers were I to need them. Hence, my move last summer to Bedford. So they will probably not be back until sometime on Saturday, which means she probably won't be going back home until Sunday afternoon. That's okay - - I'm happy to keep her - - but she misses her mom and dad very much and frequently lets me know I'm a poor substitute for them - - which I perfectly understand. It's been noisy here today as well with the festivities at the Bedford D-Day Memorial - - military planes flying over. The Vice President is here making an appearance to give a speech at the memorial as well. A good day to be away from the mainstream of activity - - wherever that may be. Haven't seen Bonnie or Buster yet today but hope to see them later on if their mom and dad have mail.

To answer your question, Anne's not enamored with the job to say the least. A combination of the "culture" and how they've messed me over (she agrees with me now that I will probably never be placed, of if I am it will be after I've taken another job) We both have interviews with Computer Share next Thursday though. I hope we both get it even though it doesn't start until 07/08 (sigh) But between her wages and us both going to the plasma clinic 2X a week, hopefully we'll get by. I did get a 25.00 donation on my FB fund raiser from a former co-worker too.

Hello moon_beam. Rainy Caturday greetings to you. I hope you're well. I too feel for poor Buster that he and Bonnie can't come visit. I hope they're otherwise doing OK. And I hope Scarlet is doing better, the "visits" not withstanding.

Thank you for your support and prayers during this difficult time for us. Other than the 25.00 on FB from a former co-worker that fund raiser has gone nowhere. But, a grade/middle school classmate of mine for Phoenix reached out to me on FB about a week ago. After reading our story on my FB feed, he wired 100.00 directly to my bank account via FB messenger. So that's good. What wasn't is when we went to the plasma clinic this morning, Anne was told her veins are "not suitable" for donation which neither of us understands given she's donated whole blood before. But I was allowed and got 60.00 as a first timer and can go back for more next week. Finally got the notice from the leasing office: Pay up with late fees by the 14th or get out. Anne will have another check by then, so with that, the base of what I've been holding back in my account (including the mentioned donation from my classmate) and the my plasma donations, we should be able to do it. Really hope Computer Share works out for us.

Tang is well and has had his supper, and shot. I'll given him his treats after while when I put food out for the local waifs (glad I bought that huge bag of dry from Walmart before all this hit)

I'm very glad you and Anne are formulating a plan to bring your rent up to date. I'm sure you and Anne have already researched this - - I have been wondering if there are any organizations in your area that you and Anne could reach out to for assistance. In this area there are a couple of social service organizations who help people who are in a financial bind with rent, utilities, gas for the car, food, etc.. I don't want you, your precious Tang, and Anne to find yourselves homeless. I am keeping each of you in my thoughts and prayers that you will be able to meet your rent and other financial obligations, AND that your jobs with Computer Share will be good jobs for the both of you. Please let us know how things go.

Scarlet went home this afternoon but not without a fight. The first attempt to get her corralled into her crate was a miserable failure causing her a lot of stress. So my brother and sister in law left to get some lunch. While they were gone I calmly talked to Scarlet to let her know that everything was okay. She eventually came out of hiding in my bedroom and got up on the settee next to me while I brushed her, which further helped to soothe her frustrated spirit. I closed the door to my bedroom so that she couldn't go back and hide in there. While I was brushing her my brother called to check on her and I told him she was in a better frame of mind, so when I saw him parking his car in the parking area I was able to pick up Scarlet and put her in her crate with only mild protests. She wanted to go home - - she just doesn't like getting into the crate. And she doesn't respond to food or treat enticement / bribery. So in the future when they come to pick her up I will close my bedroom door so that she can't hide under the bed. Buster did come to visit with me for awhile. He thoroughly checked out everything and eventually settled down on the cushion in the chair at the big computer desk to take a nap. He left to go home a little while ago. I just saw beautiful Bonnie heading out on her evening rounds.

Hello moon_beam. Rainy day greetings to you. I hope you're well. Sorry to hear about the fuss with Scarlet. But I'm confused. She's your bother and wife's cat. Why did they leave to go have lunch leaving you to be the "bad guy" with poor Scarlet? I'd think she'd trust them more in regard to getting ready to go home. I am glad Buster came by for a visit and you saw Bonnie too. I hope they're both doing OK.

I did look into Neighborhood Place in regard to getting help with the rent and Anne's income would disqualify us (and trust me you don't want to lie in regard to public assistance) Plus I have a feeling Pebble Creek doesn't participate with the program. In regard to the utilities, even though the electric bill is 5 days over due I still have not gotten a disconnection notice. And I've been checking online everyday. When I finally do I will inquire when I set up a payment plan about where to get help since I've moved since last time I got that help from MUSCL.

It's hard trying to get legitimate assistance when your income is "more" than what is allowed. It seems to me that a disqualification should be based on multiple factors. I'm keeping you, your precious Tang, and Anne in my thoughts and prayers that you will come through this financial crisis okay. Please let us know how you're doing.

My sister in law is diabetic so she was needing to get something to eat which is why they left. So instead of three people trying to coax Scarlet out of hiding to be put in her crate, the silence in the condo helped her to calm down. I didn't mind being left alone with her, particularly to try to be the one to comfort and soothe her from a very stressful event. My brother was the only one who came back to pick her up, so there was less confusion and commotion for Scarlet to deal with.

Today I had my routine dental exam. With the exception of the sensitivity issue with my teeth and gums, everything else checked out okay. Tomorrow the contractor is supposed to be here to install an antenna for my TV's - - one in the living room area and one in my bedroom. I'm hoping he will come prepared with the proper equipment. Buster has come to visit twice today. He had been taking a nap on the cushion on the chair to the big computer desk for awhile but left a few minutes ago. Sunbeams are actually showing through the clouds so he's out and about for his late afternoon rounds. I saw Bonnie a few minutes ago in the bushes at the top of the embankment at the far end of the common parking area.

So, 2 interesting things happened to today. I got a call out of the blue from the original RemX recruiter. Said she got and email from the client asking if I was still available (Anne did say her manager tried reaching out to the onsite RemX person and got no response.) And I'm "well, yeah" (duh) So that proves it's all on the RemX side and not McKesson. I think she was hoping I'd accepted another offer and they could get out of their questionably illegal treatment of me. The recruiter got a catch in her voice after a audible pause when I said I was still available. Anne will reinforce this tomorrow with her manager in case they try to lie to the client and say I took another job.

The other thing was (well more of a good thing) is I got 75.00 for my 2nd plasma donation today. I guess there are higher rates for new people. So between Saturday and today makes 135.00 for about 5 hours of work, as it were.

Tang met us at the door when got home. He's had his supper and shot and will get his treats later when I provision the local waifs. None of whom I've seen lately But it's getting eaten.

I'm glad you got a call yesterday regarding the job opportunity at McKesson, and am very glad you have discovered the problem has been with the recruiter rather than the employer. This sheds a whole new light on the experience. So, does this mean that you'll be getting your job at McKesson after all - - providing of course you still want it. I'm also glad you're receiving more income from the plasma donations than what you had anticipated. More is always better. I hope this will better help your and Anne's financial situation. The antenna contractor was here around 10:15 a.m. and I now have antenna TV service - - yea!!!! The only local channels I can't get are with PBS, but I have them through my Roku box so that isn't a problem. I have more local channels now than I did with cable TV, and not having to pay for the few local channels the cable service provided is a huge help. I have applied some of the savings toward an upgrade in my internet service - - which I would rather have better internet speed than cable TV. So that has worked out very well. After the contractor left I was able to take the cable boxes back to the cable provider's office, and pick up my WalMart order and prescription refill. Buster has come to visit and is on the cushion in the chair to the big computer desk taking a nap. He always brightens my day when he comes to visit.

I have a phone interview tomorrow directly with McKesson, but It seems it's for the other site way across town. In researching this, Anne told me April (her manager) said I should email the job code to her which I did. In those exchanges she said she reached out to RemX again and was told I'b been claimed by another group (right) She replied that she needs people and I'm anxious to start. So, we'll see what happens. If nothing else, it'll poison the well with McKesson and RemX. Good.

Tracy, this has been an extremely difficult experience for you - - which I know is totally understated. I hope your phone interview with McKesson has gone well for you today and that you are able to obtain employment at the location of your choice - - where Anne is working - - where you had originally requested. I absolutely agree with you that Remx should be ashamed of themselves for the way they have treated you. Today has been successful - - I have my driver's license renewed. The hardest part was the eye test because of my technology ineptitude. I had a bit of a problem figuring out how to look through the viewfinder, but once I figured it out I was able to read the letters just fine. Whew!!! I'll be getting my new license in the mail in the next couple of weeks. When I got back to the condo both Buster and Bonnie were waiting for me. Bonnie didn't stay long but faithful Buster is still here with me taking a nap on my bed as I'm writing to you.

Right after I posted here yesterday (and several email exchanges with Anne's manager at her request) I "miraculously" got an email from RemX asking if I could start tomorrow (today) I replied yes, but Thursday's out for personal reasons (the Computer Share interview which we're still going to) So, my start date is Friday at 8:30. We think that RemX got caught doing me dirty by McKesson and they panicked. I really don't care. I just know I'll have income this week even if it's just a day and going forward.

Tang seems to be doing OK today. He's been spending his time between the cool kitchen tile and the foyer just at the top of the stairs.

We were not able to attend the Computer Share event as Anne has been ill of late. She is going to her 11:30-8 schedule so hopefully she can get in.

Hello moon_beam. Cloudy and warm (78) greetings to you. I hope you are doing well. Glad to hear you had a nice walk today as well as a visit from Buster. I hope he and Bonnie are doing well.

So, I won't be doing imaging as I had thought. I'll be on the phones (sigh) But the line of business is a pretty easy one. People who sign up for mail order RX for 0.00 thru the drug company Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Ltd. Application status, tracking and refills. Mostly from providers. Also this department is only open until 6:00, so mine and Anne's shifts will overlap by at least 2 hours. Oh well, good thing it's only a 10 minute walk.

Thanks for the well wishes for Anne. She's doing better today but still needs to see the doctor. She could not find anyplace today that could take her and still be on time for work. The good news is that the insurance we signed up for initially will kick in for her this Monday. So just a 30.00 copay rather than the full 100.00 for the clinic.

Tang seems well and was glad to see me. It will probably take him a while to adjust to our overlapping schedules though. I hope you have had a good day and that you also have a pleasant evening watched over by you beloved fur-ever angels. Blessings.

I'm so glad to share your news that you indeed started your new job at McKesson yesterday. I know you aren't thrilled about working on phones - - yet again - - but it sounds like this will be a little easier to handle than previous jobs have been. The good news is that you will be getting a paycheck, and I hope it will be a decent wage. Perhaps in time you can transfer to another department doing something which you prefer. I'm also very glad you and Anne can walk to and from work at your preference which makes your different schedules easier to handle. So are your schedules Monday through Friday only, or do either / both of you have weekends as well? I'm glad Anne was feeling better yesterday and am glad the health insurance will be a blessing to both of you. Please let us know how Anne is doing and how your jobs are going.

Today has been focused on getting financials up to date including reconciling the checkbook with the bank statement. So come Monday I can begin focusing on the bill-a-thon for July. As I was working on things sweet Buster came for two visits - - the first was a "good day" greeting, and the second one he settled down on the cushion in the chair at the big computer desk and took a nap for awhile. The wages are decent, about a dollar and hour more than First Source. As far as I know it's a M-F schedule for both of us. The only WE OT I know of is non customer facing such as processing and the warehouse. Yes, if I do as well as my side by side trainer seems to think I will, I can move on to processing one day.

Today was not very successful. When we got to the plasma clinic (for what was to be my final donation) there were only a few people there and I got in to pre-screening pretty fast. But I wasn't allowed to donate. Why you may ask? Because of the bruising on my left arm that THEY caused on my last visit So, since I only just started and don't have a pay stub yet, Anne had to get a modest payday loan. I hate those but we were out of options at this point. But at least we both ARE working now, so that's something.

Tang has been showing signs of depression lately (hiding etc) he's fine physically but I guess our dark moods over the past few weeks have affected him. He did perk right up for supper as it's a fresh can night. He also hops on the bed for pets when one or both of us are upstairs. Hopefully he will improve as we do.

Not much going on here today. Just went to feed the waifs at the old place (didn't see any) and get some supplies for the week and come hope to watch TV and have lunch.

Tang was not pleased with me this morning when I clipped his claws on all four paws. But he's come around since we've been home. He's had his supper and I will give him his shot and treats later as well as provision the waifs. Last night I saw a new one and then Butters. But I have not seen Tweak but once the past few weeks and Dulcinea not at all I hope they are OK. I hope Anne will avail herself of going to the clinic before going to work since her insurance kicks in. But given her stubborn streak, I cannot say if she will or not.

I am keeping Anne in my thoughts and prayers that she is / will be feeling better soon. I do understand her lack of enthusiasm about seeing a doctor but the fact remains that you can't get medications (except over the counter) without an MD prescription - - especially when you need them. Please let us know how she's doing. I know the waifs sincerely appreciate all you and Anne do for them and continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers.

I know all too well the "cursed" look our companions give when they get their nails trimmed. I'm glad your precious Tang has reconciled with you, as I know he knows you love him and that the "demeaning" things you do for him - - and to him - - are necessary to keep him healthy and happy.

Did some work on financials today and worked on a couple of "creative" projects on the computer. Haven't seen Buster, or Bonnie, out and about today but I may see one or both of them at some point this afternoon.

So, the RemX lady came and got me and another woman from our side by sides. Seems they decided to put a training class together after all. Worked a bit more on financials today and finally ordered a small refrigerator to store things in while the new refrigerator for the kitchen is getting set up and ready for use - - whenever I buy the new kitchen refrigerator. According to the order confirmation it should be delivered by next Saturday, 6/29. I have already rearranged things in the laundry area to accommodate the small fridge. One more step forward here at the condo complex. In yesterday's mail I got my new driver's license which is good for 8 years. Haven't seen Buster or Bonnie yet today but they may be staying close to home with the storms passing through the area. Distant thunder rumbles once in awhile and the radar on the weather bug site is showing that storms are approaching the area. So it's good if they are safe and sound inside their home.

I've only rarely caught glimpses of our local waifs, but the food gets eaten (when it doesn't storm out) Anne think's it's because as it gets warmer there is more activity in the parking lot later. I hope she's right.

I only got to see Anne briefly when I was leaving work (yes it's paid training. I can clock in and all my other hours have been manually entered) and she was having lunch. She didn't get to go to the clinic yesterday due to time and I didn't get a chance to ask her about today. She did seem better though.

Am glad your training is paid - - at least that's one concern you don't have to deal with. I hope the training is going okay. Please let us know how things go. I also agree with Anne about more activity in the parking lot perhaps affecting the behavior of the waifs. They know your place is a "safe zone" - - and they know where to come when the coast is clear, so to speak.

Began scheduling online payments today for the bill-a-thon. Am waiting now for other invoices so that I can make those payments. Resumed my search for a new refrigerator and have narrowed the selection down to 3 GE models. Just need to wait for my small refrigerator to arrive and get set up so that I can order the one for the kitchen. I'll be glad when this project is over with. Buster got caught in a drenching downpour early yesterday evening and came to me for temporary shelter so that he could get dried off and wait out the storm. He came by late this morning to keep me company as I was doing some work on the big desk top computer. He left about an hour ago to go home and get some lunch. Soon I will go to the kitchen and begin getting my lunch on the stove cooking.

I got an email from RemX WF that my hours for Friday have been submitted so I should get paid for that day after tomorrow. And to my bank account and not that stupid pay card Anne had to deal with for 2 weeks as my ACH says it's active.

Tang was happy to see me when I walked in the door (so nice to have less of a walk to actually come home than to the bus stop for most other jobs) He's had his supper and shot and will get his treats later when I put out food for the local waifs. He seems to be doing well.

Am glad to share your news that your salary for last Friday has been approved and will deposited directly to your bank account. That's a positive step forward. Worked on my checkbook this morning getting payments put in for July's bills. I should be getting my electric bill in today's mail, so I'll be able to mail the payment this coming Monday, 6/24, with the other checks. Anne is doing better, thanks for asking. So just one more day of training and I guess I will go back out to the floor to continue the side by sides for the program I'm on. I still don't know what my "real" schedule will be. But the hours could change due to our program merging with another one as they said at the town hall meeting today.

Did some more work on financials today and a bit more research on refrigerators for the kitchen. Am limited in the style of refrigerator due to the depth measurement as the kitchen is galley-style and not very wide, thus limiting the size of the refrigerator. But I found two Whirlpool bottom freezer fridges that would fit. So I've got an option to the GE top freezer models to consider. Buster has come by twice this morning for a brief visit. He may be back before the afternoon is over.

Anne finally got to the clinic today only to be told per the RemX insurance it's 75.00 and can only have one visit per year I advised her to call our family Dr office Monday and schedule a morning appt for next week as that's only 30.00.
