Today has been busy working on financials and getting checks matched with payments to mail next week. Bonnie has visited me several times today. The last time she came she decided she wanted to find her favorite place in my bedroom to settle into to spend the afternoon. Buster came by to visit with a baby bunny in his mouth. He set it loose in the condo to play with, but I rescued it and set it free on the side of the condo that faces the woods. The baby bunny raced down the embankment and headed straight for the woods. Both Buster and Bonnie kept trying to find the bunny inside the condo and finally gave up. Buster went on his way - - and may not come back after today. He is a character - - he always brings a smile to me. Have had my lunch and now have a sink full of dishes to wash.

Today has been one of achievement. A couple of weeks ago I purchased a step ladder with side hand rails and a top rail for safety. I don't do well with ladders and heights, so my first attempts to use it I couldn't muster the courage to go beyond the second step. Well today I conquered that hesitancy, and I made it to the third step. This is a HUGE achievement as it allowed me to put up air vent deflectors that I got about 6 weeks ago from Lowe's to put up at the ceiling vents directly over the big sofa in the living room space and the dining room area. They're magnetic and I don't know how long they'll stay up, but I have turned on the AC to freshen up the air as it's getting close to the time when I'll be settling down in bed to rest and elevate my legs to watch some TV before calling it a day and so far the vents are still in place as near as I can tell. Whatever happens with the air vents, I am sooo happy about this achievement, and I felt safe all the time I was working on it. I also got my little 4 foot tree that I put up in my bedroom decorated today, and got my collection of stuffed animals out and displayed as well. Besides still hanging some pictures, getting my stuffed animals finally displayed and the tree decorated are the last major things to do with settling into the condo.

Hello moon_beam. Rainy day Caturday greetings to you. I hope this finds you doing well. Good for you on being able to use the ladder to put up your vent deflectors. I too hope they last.

After my laundry this morning we went for some lunch at a place we had a coupon which was nice. We then went to the flea off market in the Highlands but the smallness of the event and the rain made it not so enjoyable but for the dogs that were there. Since we were in the neighborhood we went to a few book stores and a specialty T shirt shop where there were two more adorable dogs.

From there we went to Aldi to do our grocery shopping. I was disappointed to see this was the second location to be completely out of the flavored seltzer water I like so much. But we got most everything else we went in there for.

We came home to Tang greeting us at the door as always. We had a brief nap and now I'm getting ready to put out out supper for him and the waifs. He seems to be doing well.

Sounds like yesterday was a "mixed bag" for you and Anne in your Caturday outing, but of course, the best news of all is that you and Anne felt well enough to go out for awhile yesterday, and that your precious Tang is doing okay, too.

Today is on the quiet side. Bonnie and Buster came by to say hello and then went on their way. With temps only in the 60's and the dampness in the air it's nice that they came by early to share their greetings so that I could shut the door. I don't want to turn the furnace on so am hoping the warmth of cooking my lunch will help to dry out the dampness a bit. Am getting caught up on some emails and reading my book from the library - - James Patterson's "Hide and Seek." My lunch will be ready soon so will get this off to you.

Today was kind of stay at home for the most part because of the nonstop rain since last night and today I was going to use the coupon I got in the mail for a haircut, but guess that will have to wait. We did get out early and feed the waifs at the old place. I didn't see any and really didn't expect to. Then we got gas at Kroger and couple of odds and ends before coming back home and watched some Rifftrax on streaming before a nap.

Sounds like you, Anne, and your precious Tang had a welcome lazy Sunday together. I know the waifs at your previous home appreciate your and Anne's continued support and provision even if you don't see them when you do it.

This morning I needed to do a little more work on the air vent deflectors to keep them from falling off the vents. The vents have slots on the two sides that mount to the vent to accommodate screws. On the side of the vent that has the adjustment to open / close the vent I couldn't align the slot with the screw. But I could align the other side of the deflector with the vent cover mounting screw. I also used clear packing tape to hold the two pieces of the deflector together as the slots that adjust the width of the deflector aren't very secure to keep the pieces together. And I was able to get a deflector up at the vent directly over the computer desk. So I think the deflectors are secure enough now, and if the side that is just attached to the vent with the magnets loosens at least with the other side secured with the screw the deflector won't completely fall off. Another activity for today is that I'm having my hair cut this evening by a beautician who makes house calls. I'm looking forward to it. Bonnie and Buster came to visit a couple of times today - - thankfully without any "gifts."

I"m sorry you and Anne weren't feeling well on Monday, 9/24. I hope you both are feeling better by now. Please let us know how you're doing.

Monday evening I got my hair cut by a very nice young lady who came here to the condo. Her desire is to do private customer work rather than work in a salon, but until she gets her client base established she currently needs to work part time in a salon. She did a very nice job, and will definitely do my best to make referrals for her as often as I can.

Yesterday was a big day for me as I had my routine follow up appointment with my rheumatologist. It was a very early morning appointment - - 8:40 a.m., so I had to leave the condo at 7 a.m.. - - which meant I had to be up around 5 a.m. to get washed and dressed. It took me close to 90 minutes to get there - - which I thought it might as I had the commuter traffic as well as the school bus zones to drive through. In addition the region was engulfed in a thick fog which made driving even slower. The good news is that my rheumatologist is reasonably pleased with my progress. My meds remain unchanged and I continue to see her every 4 months for now. However I was soooo tired yesterday afternoon after I got back to the condo. After I had my lunch I crashed. Woke up around time for the early evening news to do dishes and then went to bed for the evening. So that's why I wasn't online yesterday. Today so far has been busy working on financials. Bonnie is here visiting at the moment. She has settled into her favorite spot in my bedroom as I'm writing to you. Miss Scarlet will be coming to stay with me beginning next Thursday, 10/4, while my brother and sister in law are in Connecticut. She will be here for about a week. I'm looking forward to having her. Bonnie and Buster won't have house privileges while Scarlet is here, but I'll try to visit with them outside when I see them.

Today has been busy with errands. Since Scarlet is going to be with me beginning next Thursday, I needed to place an order for groceries at Kroger, and was able to pick that up this morning in addition to going to the bank to get some cash on hand for lunch next Wednesday for my brother and me after my remicade infusion. I also stopped off at the pharmacy hoping my prescription would be ready but unfortunately it wasn't. So I may not pick that up until tomorrow or early next week. I also need to place an order with WalMart and pick that up by next Tuesday, 10/2. Soon it will be time for me to start getting some lunch cooking. I'm looking forward to a quiet afternoon. Haven't seen Bonnie or Buster today but then I've been gone since 10 a.m this morning and didn't see either of them as I was leaving. I have the garage side door open a bit so that they come in and visit if they want to.

Yesterday we went to the expo center for the Half Price Book's clearance sale. We got 6 books between us for under 5.00

Today was low key starting with feeding the waifs at the old place. I saw White Cat and a big boy black kitty. We then went to Kroger to get some herbals I forgot to get and fixings for a modest brunch.

We then watched some Rifftrax on Prime. We are also trying out DC Universe steaming on the Roku.

Tang has been keeping us company for afternoon nap time and is doing well.

My order from WalMart won't be ready for pick up until Wednesday, 10/3, which is the day I have my remicade infusion and Scarlet arrives to stay with me. I'm hoping I can pick up the order after getting back to the condo from the infusion and before my brother and sister in law arrive with Scarlet. Wednesday is going to be a busy day so I probably won't be online at all. Just wanted to give you a heads up on that. My lunch is in the final stages cooking on the stove so will get this off to you.

Call volume was not as bad as we thought for a Monday and it being the first of October. Well, the volume was a tad high but they were all easy.

That black cat at Tanglewood I'm pretty sure I have seen once or twice before. Not sure where he comes from or goes. Poor Tweak jumped the gun for feeding time. I saw him skitter away as I opened the back door to put the food out. I'm sure he's been back for the can food though

Tang met us at the door as we got home and I messed with his mind by giving him his can food at the same time I was preparing the outside cat's. He's had his supper and shot though and is doing well.

Yesterday was a very l o n g day indeed. The nursing assistant had to try 3 times to find a vein that would accept the IV. She kept aiming for the smaller veins which wasn't working very well. Even when she did get the IV established she had to keep repositioning the needle - - while it was still stuck in my arm - - to keep the IV unit from sounding an alarm that the IV had stopped. I'm so glad this is my last infusion in the Roanoke office. My next infusion in November will be here in the Bedford office over at the specialty clinic across the parking lot from the hospital - - only 5 minutes away from the condo.

Today has been focused on paying some bills, trying to keep Scarlet contented, and reading one of the books from the library. It's nice to have a quiet day after yesterday. My lunch is now ready so will get this off to you.

Open enrollment when you don't have to actually enroll people isn't as bad like when we had to do it at ADP. Busy, but usually just benefit questions and wanting hard copies of the directories etc.

I'm glad work wasn't overwhelming yesterday. It is coming up to enrollment again so I imagine you may be busy with folks wanting to switch enrollments or get information about other options. Please let us know how things go.

Today has been a bit on the busy side. Was able to get caught up on some emails. This afternoon the contractor who does the termite inspection for the units according to the association guidelines came. Scarlet did well with him as he walked through the unit, but did not like it when I picked her up to hold her when he left so that she wouldn't scoot out the open door. She gave me a swat of her paw and a very disgruntled hiss after the door was closed. I told her there was no need for such behavior so she hid under the sofa for awhile. After a few minutes passed she came back to me rubbing against my legs. She is a character. Need to finish cleaning up lunch dishes and then get things settled for Scarlet for the night.

Work was pretty much back to back (ugh) Oh and since we volunteered to work the first Saturday of each month we have that tomorrow 11:30-8 - but won't get the weekday off for it until next Wednesday. They claim that because they start the payroll on Saturday they can get away with that and not paying us OT for 6 days (48 hours) We'll see what the KY labor cabinet has to say about that. Somehow I see a fine in their future and recompense in ours. That being said, we still have to get our stuff from Walmart after so I'm not sure I'll be up to posting.

Tang met us at the door as usual and sniffed the door because I was putting food out for the local waifs (the canned food is already almost gone) But he's had his supper and shot and seems to be doing well. Today has been a quiet day here - - after a brief scare with precious Scarlet. The front door doorbell rang around 10 a.m.. I saw two men standing at the door so I opened the door just a bit so that I could see them and hopefully keep a watch to make sure Scarlet didn't scoot through the door. The men introduced themselves as reps from one of the local churches and I told them I couldn't talk to them right now - - trying to keep the door closed as best as possible to keep Scarlet at bay - - wherever she was. As they were politely excusing themselves Scarlet scampers through the door. I let out a blood curdling scream and one of the men reaches down to encourage "kitty" to go back inside, and inside she comes, and I immediately close the door making sure that Scarlet is indeed safely back inside the condo. For quite awhile after that she stayed close to me - - perhaps to make sure I was okay - - perhaps to reassure me that she was safe. So all is okay here - - once again. I have been reading the book with the smaller print - - just have 3 more chapters to go before I'm done. It's well written and I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author. Have my lunch cooking now which will be ready shortly.

As much as I enjoy having Scarlet here with me, I also am glad when she's back home with her mom and dad so that Bonnie and Buster can come visit as they want to.

Yesterday was not busy, but it was hardly dead either more lies from these people. Why am I not surprised? This place is like Sykes (another outsource company I worked for) if it was run from a foreign country (India in this case)

Before work we fed the waifs at the old place and I saw White Cat and caught a glimpse of Little Tux after a long absence. I didn't see Siamese and Tux Jr though. After work we got as much as we could for the week at Walmart. Walmart on a Saturday night. What a nightmare.

Today was low key as all we had to do was get the rest of our stuff at Aldi today. Thankfully we are off Wednesday to get what ever we may have forgotten.

I just gave Tang his dinner which he ignored in favor of licking can from the wet food for the outside waifs here He'll eat his supper eventually. Looks like Princess beat Tweak to the punch on the wet food last night though. By this morning it and all the dry was gone. Tang is doing well too.

Sounds like work on Saturday went fairly well in that you weren't swamped nor were you sitting twiddling your thumbs. We didn't do much today. We had an early lunch and went to the zoo since it wasn't busy and the rain hadn't started yet. None of the tigers were out but all the other big cats were. The cougar was atop his perch being quite animated as was the female jaguar in her habitat. The lioness decided she didn't like the squirrels in her area, but there were no casualties thank goodness.

She didn't run from the car but did when we got out. I put the food out right away, but Tweak beat her to the canned. Poor thing was waiting and everything. I put out twice as much dry food to try to compensate though.

One of the many things that irritated me in my employment is that other secretaries / receptionists would always - - without fail - - transfer calls to me that should have gone to other employees for information / assistance, and by the time they got to me they had been transferred many times. So it was up to me to calm their rightful irritation and provide them the assistance they needed. So I can soooo relate to what happened to Anne at work yesterday. I hope today is better for her, and you. I'm chuckling at Tweak making sure he was "first in line" for the "good stuff" last night. I'm sure Dulcinea will repay "his greediness" in kind at some point. I know the waifs in your community appreciate your and Anne's bountiful provision for them.

There was a lot of flash flooding in the region yesterday in places that aren't normally prone to it - - and all in places that I need to travel through to get to my rheumatologist's office for blood work and appointments. So I called the office this morning around 9 a.m. and was informed that it was open and roads are fairly back to normal but that the office was closing at 11 a.m. so I needed to be there before then for blood work. I left here at 9:30 and got there around 10:35 a.m.. The young lady who does the lab work shared with me some serious health challenges her grandmother is going through and I was able to offer her some ideas as to what she and her family could look into to try to help her grandmother through this difficult time. She was glad I made the trip but suggested I ask my new primary care physician about having my lab work done here in Bedford and faxed to Dr. Dancea so that I don't have to make the hour's trek just for lab work. It might come in handy when the driving weather isn't safe, but I really like going into the rheumatologist's office and don't mind the drive. And it was a lovely drive today. Not much else going on. Have my lunch cooking on the stove so guess will get this off to you.

Yesterday at work wasn't too bad and we did manage to leave on time. We stopped at Walmart for provisions on the way home and it wasn't bad until we went to self check and it was a zoo Apparently they close the other self check lanes on the other side before we can get there.

There were no waifs waiting on us when we finally got home, but Tang was. He was so focused on getting his supper as we put the groceries away he didn't even notice the food I was preparing for the waifs. Even though it was sprinkling, the wet food disappeared pretty quickly; I don't know who got to it first.

I admire you and Anne doing grocery shopping in the store. Your "adventures" in shopping remind me of years past when I went shopping inside the store. I'm glad you and Anne were able to get through it and get home to your precious Tang.

Today has been busy working on my monthly financial calendars and logs for next year. Several years ago I downloaded a monthly calendar format from the internet which I was able to save in MS Word so that I could edit it for the coming years. Today I got the calendars for next year all set up but I couldn't get them to save to my documents file. I kept getting a pop up from my internet security program asking if I wanted to "approve the app". I've never gotten a query like that before, so I just exited from the window. Tried again to set up my calendars and encountered the same problem. So when I got the pop up window again I clicked on the "approve" button and - - my calendars saved just fine. I guess there's a "macro" somewhere in the format from the website that I downloaded the calendars from that needed to be "approved" by my security program to recognize it as a "safe" file format. That's what I'm guessing - - but it sure was a hassle having to figure out what I needed to do just to save the calendars. I designed the financial logs myself in MS Word so I was able to edit and save them without any problems. So now I can print them out to put them in the financial log book come mid-December or so. That has taken up most of the day. The good news is that both Bonnie and Buster came to visit today and each of them found a comfortable place to settle into for a nap for awhile. It was nice having their company. Have dishes to get washed from fixing my lunch - - will get to that after I get this sent to you.

Today after my laundry we had an early lunch and then went to Aldi. When we got done with that we went to the Flea Off market just outside of downtown. It was smaller than last year but there was a custom pen (and other implements) maker there. Since Anne loves to write and really nice pens and paper, I got her the hand made pen of her choice for her upcoming birthday. I guess it was fate as the man has the same first and last name as her brother and his dad has the same as Anne's. We went To the Garvin Gate festival in Old Louisville after that but most of the vendors were still setting up. So we just finished our errands and came home.

It was a pretty low key today around here too. We went out early (8:00 ish ) after starting laundry to put food out for the waifs in the old place. I didn't see any though. I hope they're doing OK. From there we went to Kroger to get things for breakfast and few other odds and ends; and then used the fuel points to top off the tank.

After breakfast we watched some Rifftrax on streaming then took a nap. I'm getting ready to give Tang his supper and shot as well as set food out for the waifs here. He seems to be doing well.

Today has been busy getting caught up on some financials and printing off payment reports from Medicare and filing them with the appropriate treatments. Tomorrow I have my initial appointment with my new primary care physician. It's in the afternoon so I probably won't be online tomorrow as I'm not sure when I'll be back home. I'll let you know how it goes as soon as I can. Both Buster and Bonnie came to visit today. In fact Buster just left to go home for the evening.

So, Anne's birthday is Friday and last week we asked to not be scheduled the Saturday after because her sister and brother are flying in for the party. And what did that witch do? Scheduled us Saturday I literally came unglued (it wasn't pretty) We got 2 people to trade with us as they thought it was a classless move on her part too. It was sent to WF for final approval, so we'll see. Anne said she "apologized" profusely (in quotes because I know she's as fake as a 3.00 bill) Since everybody she hired in our training class is gone, I have a feeling her days may be numbered anyway.

Tang met us at the door when we got home though which was nice. He's been fed and had his shot and doing well. The waifs have already been by for the can food too.

I'm sorry you had the aggravation of trying to trade off your and Anne's Saturday schedule - - especially since you had already requested the day off. I hope your request is approved. Please let us know how things go.

The meeting with my new primary care physician yesterday went well. She is very professional but also personable in her approach to her patients. I got my flu shot yesterday and will go back next month for the second pneumonia vaccination. She feels that since I see my rheumatologist frequently and she does routine blood tests that I only need to see my primary care physician on an annual basis unless I need to see her for a medical problem. That's agreeable with me - - the less doctors I need to see the happier I am. Both Bonnie and Buster are here with me today. Their mom and dad had to make a trip up the interstate this afternoon to see one of their daughters, so they have left their fur kids in my care. Their canine companion, Buddy, is home but I will need to go over to let him out in a couple of hours so that he can take care of his personal needs. The neighbor who usually takes care of Buddy is having company, so I am "plan b" today which suits me just fine. My lunch is in the final stages cooking on the stove so will get this off to you.

The manager claims to Anne (I don't believe her for a second) she emailed the trade requests to the client yesterday. But as of end of day shift today we had not heard anything. I see no reason why the client would care as long as the slots are filled. My belief is that the manager is lying her (bleep) off. She did this to get back at me not only for standing up to her about the seating, but also because I won that little tiff Lady Karma will fix her little red wagon.

Tang was waiting for us when we got home which is always nice. He and the waifs have had their suppers and Tang his shot. He seems to be doing well.

I'm so sorry your and Anne's requests for leave have not yet been approved. It's so very hard to trust someone who does not have a good track record in a relationship - - whatever that relationship may be. I hope the manager is being truthful with you and Anne, and that your requests for the day off will be approved. Please let us know how things go.

Today has been busy on the big desk top ordering some supplies and doing some internet "window shopping". Also printed off my "wish list" of books off my library account to give to the volunteer who is in charge of the home delivery service when he comes this afternoon sometime. He comes across to me as not being very reliable - - but I'm hoping my impression will improve with time. I had requested "The President Is Missing" and discovered it had been removed from my "wish list" along with several other James Patterson books I had requested. So I put "President Is Missing" book on my "wish list" which is included in the print out I am giving the volunteer this afternoon. I also added another author to the list so hopefully he will understand he is an addition - - not a substitution or an "exclusive author only" request. Time will tell. Neither Bonnie nor Buster have visited today - - but it's a pretty day outside so they may be making their rounds.

So this morning, Anne and I got first verbal then (finally) email confirmation the trades for the weekend have been approved. So we can still go to her birthday party. I would have been very upset if it had not as this is her 40th - a milestone in my opinion.

We were a bit late getting in for stopping to get our sandwich at Subway. Apparently Tweak was waiting on his food too as he darted off as we pulled up (he came back after I put the food out though) Tang was also waiting on us and was glad to get a fresh can of the chicken pate with extra gravy. I'm about to give him his shot now. He seems well.

Yes, we got tomorrow off but the cost of working next Saturday (the day after my birthday) Plus the following one as we volunteered for the first one of each month, but oh well.

We were not able to do our Walmart shopping tonight as it was a zoo and we would have been there all night So one more thing to have to do tomorrow. Pharmacy was closed anyway and Tang needs insulin syringes.

No waif visitors awaited us upon getting home but Tang was. He's had his supper and treats and about to get his shot. He seems well.

I just need to get a gift card to go along with the birthday card and then I can get it in the mail to my brother in law. WHEW!!!! Speaking of birthdays, the get together was OK. KFC and Bob Evans entrees for dinner and a really good cake (some of which we dropped off to the co-workers who traded shifts with us) Everybody seemed to like her pen. And it was nice meetings her brother and his wife.

Today was low key except we did go for the breakfast bar at Ponderosa after feeding the waifs at the old place. Then we came back here and did laundry and chilled with Tang. I'm getting ready to get his supper together as well as that of the local waifs and then his shot before settling in for the evening.

Today has been spent scheduling online payments for November bills and writing checks to get in the mail. Just one more check to write for the electric bill when it's delivered later today. Tomorrow will be errand day to the post office, bank, pharmacy, and the contractor who installed the light filtering blinds last week to pay them.
