Hello LoveMyMickey. Thanks for stopping by and the well wishes.
I'm sorry to hear of the trouble with Smokey, Tabby and the other kitties. Being feral they have more of their wild cousin's instincts than the ones who have loving forever homes. You and your husband are most kind to put out food for them, but they still have the instinct to "hunt" and, unfortunately, be territorial. It could also be they are not fixed. Try to be patient. These nice folks may be able to help
http://alleycatadvocates.org/I do hope the day and evening was kind to you, and I hope Mickey sends you many butterflies. Blessings. TTFN

Hi Tracy,
I hope you and furbabies are having a nice Sunday.....Brrrrr! last night, in the 30s. I'm not ready for cold weather......Thank you for the link. We have the TNR program here. We might have to consider that, but all is quiet today. Tabby and Smokey ate their dry food breakfast this morning and left. We still have the shelter and rugs to use if they want to. Those two are the friendly ones. Smokey looks like he/she might belong to someone. I believe if people have a cat, they should keep them inside unless they are a barn cat way out in the country.
I think Mickey is sending us kitties instead of butterflies.

I like to think we are helping them in his honor.....Have a good day Tracy, and I hope next week treats you well. Pet the furbabies for me......TTFN....God Bless..

Hi, Tracy, sunny chilly Sunday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits. I also hope your laundry time went smoothly - - all machines working properly.
Just one more week to go as you eagerly anticipate beginning your new job on October 28. I hope each day this week will bring you closer to receiving your UE benefits, and obtaining assistance with your electric bill and others as needed. Please let us know how things go, my friend.
I'm so glad your precious little Tang is doing well - - no lingering effects from the late insulin of a couple days ago. Perhaps his "aggression" was him trying to get your attention, "hey, dad, you forgot something this morning - - remember - - my shot". When our brains are overloaded with concerns things that we normally remember and do can become muddled with the overload - - the good news is that your precious Tang is okay and understands this - - as each of us do.
The sun is shining cheerily today which is nice to see for a change, and my precious Noah is thoroughly enjoying the sunbeams - - as am I. The temps are only in the upper 50's though, so the big door will not be open today. I must confess with the reality of the oncoming winter months I am already looking forward to spring - - which is only 5 months away.
Need to get to the kitchen to start getting lunch on the stove. Noah has already gently reminded me twice now that it is "that time." I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious companions are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing how things are going for you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Hello LoveMyMickey.
Yes, it was cool here last night too; I actually had to get up to shut the windows. I'm glad things are more or less back to normal with Smokey and Tabby. It's kind of you to provide the shelters too. I saw a new kitty this morning doing laundry. I tried to call, but he/she ran away. I whispered under the care he/she ran under that I had just put food out a few buildings down. Silly, I know but it made me feel better.
I think you may be right that Mickey is sending the kitties instead of the butterflies; but I hope he sends them too. Hope you and your husband are well. TTFN

Hello moon_beam. Sunny but cool Sunday greetings to you and your precious Noah.
Laundry went fine, no issues. You could be right about Tang "reminding" me I was forgetting his shot. He seems better now. Theresa is also doing well.
Thank you for the well wishes/prayers on my UE, etc. I hope it gets squared away soon too. I did send an email to the Randstad recruiter about the possibility of needing a half day off to go the UE office if it goes 6 weeks. I figure if I do this before starting, it will go better for me. At least I hope so
Glad to hear you and Noah are well. I hope today is being kind to you both and that you both have a very peaceful evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sunny chilly Monday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
It is always a blessing sharing your news as to how your precious Theresa and little Tang are doing, and I'm so glad to share your news they both are doing well.
Noah is doing well and is enjoying a second day of sunbeams through the windows. It is very crisp here only in the low 50's, so we have one of the space heaters on to help take the chill out of the air. I heard on the weather channel yesterday evening that the upper elevations along the I 81 corridor could get some snow flurries come next weekend - - I hope that is as far east as the snow flakes fall.
Not a lot happening around the homestead today. It's nice to have some "lazy" days after all the activity of the summer. I hope by now you have been able to speak with a representative at MUSCL who will help you with your LG&E bill, and hope you have received a favorable response from Randstad concerning your potential need to meet with a UE rep. I continue to hope and pray your UE benefits will be approved so that the need to take time away from your new job will be averted. Please let us know how things go.
Noah just got on his bathroom window perch to check things out on that side of the house where the sunbeams are now beginning to shine through and take his late morning nap. I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening.

Hello, moon_beam. Sunny and cool Monday greetings to you and your precious Noah. Glad to hear you are both well and enjoying quality time together, and that he has sunbeams to bask in.
I did call MUSCL and they can't help me until a brown bill generates, which per the web portal, it has not. Now here's where it gets all "good news bad news" I just got a call from Randstad and AIG wants me to start tomorrow. That's good because I'll have a partial paycheck next week. Bad because I won't be able to go to MUSCL for help now. I did, however, reiterate my issue about the UE. He seemed OK with it and said lets play it by ear until I actually know something for sure. I really need that UE to be released this week more than ever.
It's sunny and 59 out, so Theresa is prowling the balcony and Tang is sunning himself by the doorway. I hope today is kind to you and Noah and that you both have a great evening. I'll keep you posted. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, thank you so much for sharing with us how things are going. The good news is YEA - - you start your new job tomorrow - - which is better than having to wait until next week. AND - - they are amenable to your doing whatever you need to do to get your UE benefits taken care of. This also good news. As for the not so wonderful news, perhaps even though you will receive a partial paycheck perhaps you will still qualify for assistance with your electric bill. OR perhaps you can try to talk to a rep at LG&E to negotiate a minimum payment. Please let us know how things go, my friend.
Noah is letting me know it's absolutely time for me to start getting lunch ready and some niblets in his bowl. I'm so glad your precious companions are enjoying the sunbeams, too, and some balcony time.
Once again, my friend, I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hello moon_beam. Smiling at Noah letting you know it was lunch time
Well, I called the main UE number in Frankfort and something different happened this time. I gave all my info to the woman who answered the phone. But instead of giving me the same old story, she said she had to transfer me. This new woman only needed my SS. She looked over my claim, saw that there was a "job separation issue" and dug a little deeper. It turns out that they had placed a call to KFORCE and left a VM to call them back to see if they wanted to contest right after I filed the claim. Nobody from KFORCE called them back. This was 5 weeks ago! The woman said "Well, since they never called us back I guess we can go ahead release the funds you have already claimed" (minus my earnings from the first week) Seriously? It seems whomever I spoke with (and others in her position) were not on the job due to the shut down. All this time, if could have actually spoken to a real case worker, it could have been resolved
But it has been and that's good. Since LG&E has not spit out a brown bill, I made an online check payment for just enough so that it won't for this cycle. Working there 14 months comes in handy sometimes (I know the brown bill cut off amount) Even if MUSCL could have helped me, I could not have gotten in there for an appointment.
The kitties are enjoying balcony time. Later it will be time to see to their nightly care. I hope today is being kind to you and Noah and that you both have a wonderful evening. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers, seems to have worked. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, thank you sooooo much for sharing the good news about the decision the case worker has made on your UE benefits. I can sooo understand your frustration, my friend. I am soooo hoping your telephone call today and your conversation with the UE rep will mean you will be able to receive a UE check in the next few days. Please let us know how this goes, my friend.
And I'm so glad you were able to make a payment toward your electric bill. Hopefully by this time next month you will have your finances back on the right track.

Hi, Tracy, sunny windy Tuesday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
Today is your first day at work with AIG, and I'm wondering how things are going for you -- including your transportation connections. I imagine your precious Theresa and Tang were a bit saddened to see you leave this morning, and I know they will be ectastic when you get home tonight. I truly hope and pray you will find this job to be fulfilling with your current skills, an opportunity to grow in your skills and salary, and an opportunity to finally obtain employment and financial stability. Please let us know how things go for you.
Need to do some preparation work today for the dryer repair tech scheduled to be here sometime tomorrow morning. I will need to move the washing machine out of the way so that he can have room to work on the dryer. Moving the washing machine is always a real work out because it is very heavy.
I hope today is treating you kindly at work, my friend, and that your travels home will be safe and expedient so that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang can have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Hello moon_beam. Cool Tuesday greetings to you and your precious Noah. Hope you are both well. I also hope all goes well with your dryer repair.
Today was interesting. The supervisor was in meetings all day. So, me and another contractor sat with a lead and got general orientation. What we will be dong is working claims for extended warranties for electronics, appliances, bikes, etc. Most of them will come in from the repair service providers via email, electronic work queue, and some incoming calls. But the call volume is nothing like an inbound call center (they actually have a dept. for that) It's mostly following a process to accept or deny claims, or route them back for more information. It also involves some research to make sure the prices the providers submit for parts checks out. That's the Readers Digest version as I understand it so far. With 2 different buses from downtown to Indiana makes it pretty easy. I get off at literally the first stop across the bridge and then double back for a 5 minute walk; literally just under the bridge. I figure it's the next best thing to working downtown. Plus I'm gone about an hour less give or take.
I'll probably go online to get discount ride tickets to finish up October, then get a regular pass for November next week. A savings of 35.00 per month over the express. Theresa and Tang are well, their evening needs seen to. They did, indeed, give me a "talking to" for being gone all day

I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a very blissful evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, cloudy Wednesday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
I, too, am very glad your first day went reasonably well. I'm interested in your impressions about the job - - is this something you would enjoy doing long term, etc.? Are you glad you're not working a call center? I'm also very glad your commute appears to be the "next best thing" to working in downtown Louisville - - which allows you to get home sooner than you did with your previous employer. This is very good news indeed - - one which I'm sure your precious companions will sincerely appreciate. Please let us know how things go with this new job, my friend.
Am patiently waiting for the dryer repair technician to come. Received an automated "reminder" call yesterday evening confirming the appointment for today. The service tech is supposed to call 30 minutes ahead of time to let me know he is on his way - - no call yet - - 3.5 hours to go for him to make the "8 a.m. to 12 Noon" service time. I do hope he comes "sooner" than later.
Please know you and your precious companions are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing how things are going for you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

UPDATE: The GE repair technician arrived around 10:45 a.m.. Of course the machine was not squeaking when he turned it on, but there was enough of a sound for him to confirm that the bearings are indeed going bad. I asked him if the difference in the noise was because there wasn't any wet laundry in the dryer - - and he said yes - - that the weight of the wet laundry will make the drum run harder. If I went the route of replacing the bearings, and belts, it would cost as much as a new dryer. Also, the parts would need to be special ordered from GE - - which means that there would be another service call to do the repairs. So oooo - - since the dryer is 24 years old I think it would be more cost effective to replace it. And if I can hit the stores at the right time that a sale is happening I might also include a new washing machine in the deal. So this is the latest news. Noah is happy the technician is gone. The sun is shining bright and cheery at the moment so there are sunbeams to enjoy. Hope all is going well for you today at work, my friend, and that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening.

Hello moon_beam. Cloudy, cool, and windy Wednesday greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope you are both well. I'm glad your dryer tech made it out. Sorry to hear it wasn't cost effective to have it repaired.
That being said, if you had an extended warranty on the unit, that's the kind of stuff I'll be working on. Compare the price of parts online to the service provider estimate to determine they are valid, look to see if the contract has the funds to cover it and approve the repairs. Or, send back for more info, or deny if the funds are not there. In that case, we would offer to give the customer the cash value of what's left on the contract, or a "buy out" One day and I'm picking up on the lingo

There is a lot more, obviously, but that's an example
I won't go as far as to say I'll be passionate about it, but I could be content in the work I think. We are certainly wanted. Apparently many of the candidates lately have not been very sharp, or male (not sure why that's relevant, but I can be fairly obtuse) The other guy from the agency needed to have his I9 notarized ASAP to send to Randstad or he would not be able to continue the assignment. Wouldn't you know that the other lead started calling, emailing, etc all over the office to find a notary? Yeah, I'd say they want us to stay. The supervisor came over and started talking to us about going permanent and that they only have to wait 60 days as opposed to the usual standard 90. Oh, and she treated us all to lunch. I'd say these are good signs.
I got home even earlier tonight when I discovered that by going out the other entrance/exit puts me right on the street the bus comes down, so I was able to catch the 5:45 bus rather than the 6:15 going home on the KY side. Theresa and Tang are both well, their evening ministrations taken care of. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a most pleasant evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sunny windy chilly Thursday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
Tracy, I am sooo glad you are getting "good vibrations" with this job - - and that perhaps by Christmas you will be a PERMANENT employee - - hopefully with benefits such as paid time off, etc.. Please let us know how things go with this. AND I'm so very glad you are finding the commute to be easier - - getting home even 10 or 15 minutes EARLIER is definitely positive!!!
Today was errand day. I learned today that my bank no longer offers gift cards, so this was important information to know come the holidays when I will be getting gift cards for family members. Since I also needed to get some staples from Kroger I was able to pick up a gift card for my brother in law who lives in northern Virginia for his birthday next week - - which was convenient.
I haven't quite decided yet not to get my current dryer repaired. I have 30 days to make a "final" decision with the current estimate. I did some window shopping on the internet yesterday afternoon - - which has helped me to reconsider the option to try to get my current dryer repaired. It's not the cost of the new dryers - - it's that the one I have is sooooo simple to use. As I was reading through all the "options" the new dryers have with the new "technology" - - it just boggles my mind. And the same thing - - even more so - - with the new washing machines. For me - - the "improved technology" has just made using these machines so complicated. So even though I may end up getting a new dryer I will probably not be investing in a new washer at this time. But - - the final verdict will be known when I actually begin the serious shopping. I'll let you know what happens.
It's definitely time to start getting some lunch on the stove warming. My precious Noah is curled up on his lamb's wool cushion in front of the window by the bed taking a nap as I'm writing to you. But I know when I go to the kitchen he will be right there with me eagerly anticipating some niblets in his bowl.
I hope today is treating you kindly at work, my friend, and that your travels home will be safe and expedient so that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang can have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hello moon_beam. Cold and blustery Thursday greetings to you and your precious Noah. I hope you are both well. I'm glad to hear you got your errands done with no problems. Whatever decision you make of the dryer, I hope it works out to your satisfaction.
My understanding from what I've been told so far is that AIG (Formerly Service Net until AIG bought them) has a great benefits package. From the moment of hire they are all in place, no accrual or waiting period. Comprehensive health care, 401K with up to 5% company matching, 24 PTO days, all the major holidays off with pay (or double time and a half if worked) and even some lesser ones like Presidents Day etc. Perhaps by Christmas I will have a paid day off. I do know that they were getting ready to hire a woman reaching her 60 days, but she stopped showing up or calling. I said something about having new skills to add to my resume to one of the agents and she said "NO, DON'T update your resume, stay here with us!"

I assured her that was my intention. It's nice to feel wanted. Now, if me and the other contractor can get all of our log in IDs and a computer and phone at my desk, we can move forward with more comprehensive training.
Actually getting home early is more like 1.5 hours now (if I get lucky enough to get that 5:30ish Indiana bus) to about an hour when I start my actual schedule of 9:30 to 6:00 (we are 9-5:30 right now)
Theresa and Tang are both well, their evening tending to finished. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a very peaceful evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, T G I F greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my preciuos Noah and me on this sunny chilly blustery day. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
My friend, I am sooooo glad to share your news about how things are going with your new job. This is indeed very positive news, and I am soooo looking forward to sharing your news come around Christmas when you will be able to share with us that you are now a PERMANENT employee with BENEFITS!!! This is what you have been slaving toward over the last 2 plus years. I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers that this will happen for you, my friend. Hope you're able to get your phone and login ID soon so that you can really begin to "show your stuff" to your new employer. Please let us know how things go.
And I'm TOTALLY THRILLED at your hours, and what appears to be an easier transportation schedule. This also is very good news, my friend. And I know your precious Theresa and little Tang are also ecstatic at having daddy home sooner.
Today was bill-a-thon day - - and oh boy - - has it ever been a day focused on financials. But things are now in order, previous payments matched with receipts and ready to file, and payments set up in the checkbook for payments to be made as appropriate. This coming Monday will begin the monthly payment rituals. Noah has his bi-annual wellness check up scheduled for Tuesday morning with Dr. Neal.
Lunch was served a little later this afternoon, but I made sure that Noah had some niblets in his bowl before my lunch was finally ready, and then he received his full lunch portion. Before my lunch was ready my precious boy was letting me, "hey, mom, you sure have been working on this stuff for a long time now. Aren't you just about done? It's time to finish up, mom." And by that time I TOTALLY agreed with him!!! As I'm writing to you my precious Noah is on his lamb's wool cushion in front of the window next to the bed sprucing up a bit before settling down for a late afternoon nap.
Sunny and a little warmer TGIF greetings to you and your precious Noah. Hope you are both well. Glad to hear you have your financials out of the way. I'm hoping Noah's checkup goes well and he has a totally clean bill of health.
Today me and the other guy were each sat with a different agent. I got put on the other side of the main rows; felt like I was in no man's land

And I got fussed at for not taking notes; but I didn't see anything new that wasn't on the cheat sheets we already have. Oh well, note to self for Monday. I'm not so sure about "showing my stuff" either. The other guy at least has mortgage and insurance experience; I have none of that. There are no formal training manuals; so it's kind of rag tag on the training. All I can do is try my best. I'm hoping It will make more sense when I can start typing at least. I don't think it's going to be quite as ideal as I had once thought, but it's still better than what I've had so far. I've actually been trying to get FT w/ benefits since I was separated from SMLLC 3.5 years ago. I just have to keep plugging away, I guess. But' it's still a nice early birthday present.
Theresa and Tang are well having had their evening ministrations. Tomorrow is Caturday and we can once again look forward to that. I hope today has been kind to you and Noah and that you both have a most pleasant evening.

Hello Tom's Dad, and happy Caturday to you, Tang, and Theresa!

And a happy birthday to you! I hope Tang and Theresa will be extra nice to you today.

I'm glad your first week on the job went well. I'm not a big note taker either, and I guess it can sometimes give the wrong impression. Just make little scribbles, and that'll make 'em happy. I'm sure you will do just fine, and besides you can always keep looking for something better.
I am up so early today so I can take Shelley to the vet. My "nervous Nellie" needs to have her &%^ glands expressed. They do get stopped up from time to time. Tina had the same problem. I still don't know if they have put in the granite plaques so I'm just going to have a look tomorrow. It would have been Tina's 16th birthday tomorrow, and I would have stopped by her grave anyway. Hope you have a nice weekend! Stay warm!

Good Morning DannysMom, and Happy Caturday to you and your precious Mindy and Shelley as well. And thank you for the birthday wishes.
I wrote some stuff down while I was with another agent for the last half hour I was there; mostly stuff I already knew. It's a fairly laid back environment, but pretty cliquish too. The other contractor is going to be the "golden boy" I think. Not just from his experience, but from his self proclaimed status of "Excell/MS Office guru" In other words, a kiss up. And they just seem to like him better. From 5-5:30 I sat with my agent furiously working the emails and and taking calls, while the other guy and the 3 remaining female agents sat chatting doing neither. I think I'm SO going to hate that last hour judging by this pattern. Oh well.
I'm sorry to hear about Shelly, I hope the vet is able to help her. It's sunny here but cold (32) At some point, I will have to brave it to run errands. Theresa and Tang are both well. I hope today is kind to you and the girls and that you all have a very pleasant evening. TTFN

Hello Tom's Dad, I just got back from the vet. They were real busy today. The right side of Shelley's glands was stuffed up, so this helped. I had her nails trimmed as well. That was $43. A bit expensive for just nail trimming and expressing glands. Now I gotta go and get my hair cut. It's a busy day today for sure. We're in the low 50s today. It sure has gotten cold in your neck of the woods. Hope you and your fur kids are staying warm.

I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits, and that your errands went well so that you are able to enjoy the most of today with your precious fur tribe.
I'm sorry yesterday was not as positive as the previous days. It is hard when you see another employee receiving "preferential treatment" - - it does adversely affect the morale of other employees. Just be yourself, my friend, - - and it never hurts to keep your options open.
It is quite chilly here today but the sun is shining quite nicely and Noah is thoroughly enjoying the sunbeams. Not much happening here today - - which is a pleasant change from yesterday's finance-a-thon.
I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening.

Hello moon_beam. Happy Caturday greetings to you and your precious Noah, I hope you are both well . Thanks for the birthday wishes.
Yeah, yesterday was a little bit of a let down, but what can I do. It's still a job, and it's easier to get to and I'm not gone as long. Perhaps it's better to "fly under the radar" anyway
I finally got my SNAP EBT card in the mail. Only 39.00/month, but I put it to good use at the Save a Lot getting staples that last (pasta, rice, beans, bread etc.) ended up only putting 6.94 on my debit card (and 3.99 was for litter) I never got away that cheap before, and it's good timing too with all that's been going on. I got home after being gone 1.75 hours. Theresa and Tang were both happy to see me. Tang didn't even hide like he thought he was going to the vet this time
I'm getting ready to see to their evening needs before settling in. I hope today has been kind to you and Noah (glad he had sunbeams today) and that you both have a most peaceful evening. TTFN

Hi Tracy,
Happy Caturday Evening to you, Princess Theresa, and Sgt. Tang. Also Happy Birthday from me.

....Your job indeed is a nice early birthday present. I just hope it works out for you to be full time with the benefits. And also be a pleasant place to work.
We've seen quite a few different cats this week, our favorites are Tabby and Smokey. They love the dry food, but if the door is open, they look for me, the woman with the can.

....A white one comes by, not the mean one, then there's a darker orange tabby. One had dark gray stripes with complete white legs. I don't think all of them are strays.....I went
to Kroger this week, bought extra cat food, 3 bags and several cans......I guess that's all the cat-tails for now.....I hope you have a pleasant and cozy night with your furbabies and stay well..My prayers are always with you....God Bless.....TTFN..

Hi LoveMyMickey
Theresa and Tang are well, and I hope you and your husband are too. I'm glad Smokey and Tabby still come by as well as the new white kitty. When you say the look for you if the door is open, do you mean they poke their heads in or come inside? In any case, I'm sure they appreciate your kindness.
I hope today is treating you kind. My best to you, your husband and Angel Mickey. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sunny chilly Sunday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits. I'm so glad you received your SNAP card which allowed you to get some staples for your coffers. Can you also use it for some supplies for your precious fur tribe? I remember from previous years news reports that there are some restrictions on what can and cannot be purchased with food assistance funds. I know you would have mentioned it by now, and I hope I don't add salt to an already sore wound in asking - - have you any updates on your UE benefits?
I can relate to your enthusiasm in getting home quickly yesterday from your errands. Having been in the work force for many decades, I never liked being away from my companions any length of time on the weekends for this was my "dedicated" time with them. Yet life in earlier years with other commitments did not allow me this privilege. Now that I am no longer employed I truly do enjoy being home with my precious Noah, and do not like being away from him any longer than what it takes for me to do my errands.
Noah and I are enjoying a quiet day together. He is cuddled next to me keeping me company as I'm writing to you.
I hope laundry time went smoothly for you this morning, that today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Hi Tracy,
I hope you and furbabies are having a relaxing Sunday afternoon. We are doing okay. I'm glad we'll have warmer temperatures this week......About the kitties looking through the door, it is a plexiglass storm door where they can see me if the regular door is open. They are satisified with the dry food that husband puts out first thing in the morning and then we put out dry and canned later in the day and evening...I saw Bobtail this morning, he didn't even look at the food, he just circled the car and left.
Tracy, I hope your work week goes well. I feel like things are going to get much better for you. My prayers are always with you and your furbabies. Give them a special pat for me.......God Bless......TTFN...

Hello moon_beam. Sunny and cool Sunday greetings to you and your precious Noah. I'm glad you are both well.
The SNAP card can only be used for human food items. But it helps me have more money to put toward Theresa and Tang's needs. I posted a while back about my UE; I got 3 of the 4 weeks paid out to my bank account.
Laundry went fine with no people there or any machine issues. Me and the fur kids spent a lazy day cuddling. I hear you on wanting to spend more time with them. I'd love to be able to retire and spend even more time with them. Sometimes I wonder if that will ever happen though the way things are going

(being unemployed does not count) Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy to be working again. It's just that sometimes I wonder what its all for beyond the obvious day to day needs.
Getting ready to take care of the evening kitty care and chores before settling in and returning to work tomorrow. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a wonderful evening. TTFN

Hello LoveMyMickey. Sunny Sunday greetings to you and and your husband.
I am chuckling at Tabby and Smokey looking in through the storm door. Probably thinking "Hey, that's the lady with the nummy can food!" I'm glad to hear Bobtail has made a reappearance; too bad he didn't stop for a bite. Perhaps he will come back later.
Not much going on here. Just getting ready to take care of Miss Theresa and Sgt Tang (who are both well) and put dry food out behind the dumpster for my area strays. I've been seeing a black one and multicolored one sniffing around there regularly; I actually spooked the latter the other day with a cup of food in hand. But he/she came back through the fence, the black one in tow. I stood at the top of the stairs and listened to make sure there was no fighting, which there wasn't thank goodness. I guess they travel together.
I hope you, hubby, and the kitties are well and that you all (including Angel Mickey) have pleasant evening. TTFN

Hello moon_beam. Sunny and cool Monday greetings to you and you precious Noah. I hope you are both well and that you were able to get through your billathon.
Today at work some we were informed of some org changes. Me, the other contractor, and 2 regular employees from our area are to be part of a new department called special projects. Our focus (among other things) will be to work toward automating many of the approve/deny of claims processing that is now done manually (more or less) From what I have been able to gather, this means NO inbound phone calls - YAY!
That made my day a little brighter especially seeing how that queue was exploding for the agent I was sitting with and her neighbor. Since I do have a fair amount of experience working on transitional projects like this, I at least now know why I was brought in.
Both Theresa and Tang are well and greeted me at the door. They have had their evening ministrations and are now enjoying some balcony time. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a most peaceful evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sunny chilly Tuesday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
CONGRATULATIONS on your special assignment to the new department!!! That sounds like a real opportunity for you to excel. How soon will this new department be set up? Please let us know how things go.
The majority of the monthly online bill payments were scheduled yesterday, and entered in the checkbook and the financial log book. Just have three more routine payments to schedule but am waiting for the monthly online invoice notifications.
This morning Noah had his bi-annual check up with Dr. Neel. He has gained a pound since April, but this is not a concern as far as Dr. Neel can see at this time. We discussed his feeding routine, and she is satisfied with what I am doing. Over the past month he has been drinking more water which has resulted in more frequent trips to the kitty latrines. So Dr. Neel did a full blood panel on him and I should be getting the results of that by sometime Thursday. Of course the thoughts of kidney dysfunction or diabetes come to mind - - but his breath is not yet reflecting either condition. On the one hand it is good he is drinking more water as it has always seemed to me that he never drunk enough - - I will just need to wait until Dr. Neel gets the results of the blood tests. She looked at his teeth and advised me that sometime in the next 6 months he could use a good cleaning - - which of course is a surgical procedure involving anesthesia. But it has been awhile since his teeth have needed a thorough exam and cleaning - - so I'm already planning on doing this after the first of the year - - late January / early February - - depending on the weather and the results of his blood tests from today. Overall he received a good report.
As I'm writing to you he is very happy to be home and is on his window bench in front of the big window intently watching the birds and squirrels.
I'm so glad your precious Theresa and little Tang were able to get some balcony time yesterday evening, and that they are doing okay with the "nursing" routines as well.
I hope today is treating you kindly at work, my friend, and that your travels home will be safe and expedient so that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang can have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hello moon_beam. Cool and cloudy Tuesday greetings to you and your precious Noah.
I'm glad to hear his check up went well. I do hope the blood work does not turn up anything of concern. I know all too well about the teeth cleanings. It's how we found out Tom was diabetic (and what was involved when that butcher killed him) I'm glad he was able to settle in and get comfortable when you got him home.
The changes took place today. This morning was chaotic with all the computer/phone/desk moves. I do not have a computer or phone yet, but I was told our IDs are ready. I sat with an agent that just deals with Toshiba laptops. There are other lines of business, but the basic process is the same. I will probably get more familiar when I have my work station set up and going. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with inbound call queues.
Theresa and Tang are well with their evening care completed. It's a bit too chilly and overcast for balcony time tonight. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a wonderful evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, cloudy, rainy, gloomy Wednesday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
It sounds like when AIG makes a decision it does not waste time in implementing it - - which is a credit to AIG - - particularly when it concerns maintaining you as an employee and engaging you in a specific work task. This is very encouraging. So glad you have your IDs now - - or will very soon - - and hope you will have your computer and phone set up before the week is out. From experience in my employment years much of that has to do with coordinating with other departments and getting their work orders scheduled - - it's called "bureaucracy". I'm hoping the turn-around time for you will be significantly quicker than it ever was for me and other employees I worked with throughout the years. Please let us know how things go.
Not much happening around the homestead today. Noah is on his bathroom window perch taking a late morning nap as I'm writing to you. The woodland residents are hibernating today in their nests and dens from the gloomy rainy elements.
I hope today is treating you kindly at work, my friend, and that your travels home will be safe and expedient so that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang can have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hello moon_beam. Wednesday greetings to you and you precious Noah. I hope you are both well. It started off rainy here but finally cleared up before I traveled home. More rain on the way tomorrow
Today I sat with the lead for the new department who turned out to be a fellow pet parent. I learned how manual (paper) claims are processed, as well how the electronic exception queue is worked. After about an hour I "drove" on the latter. I got my computer, but the IT tech took off before confirming my IDs. We tried a few things, but nothing worked. So I kept at it on the lead's computer. When she left at 4:30, she said just to keep working on them and jot down any I'm not sure about. Tomorrow I will get to "drive" on that again and paper claims
Theresa and Tang both greeted me upon coming home; both are well. their evening care seen to. I hope today was kind to you and Noah today and that you both have a most pleasant evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, cloudy forecasted to be stormy Thursday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
I am so shaking my head totally understanding your frustration as you share with us: "I got my computer, but the IT tech took off before confirming my IDs. We tried a few things, but nothing worked." This is sooooo typical, sad to say. I hope today you are being able to get your IDs properly working - - as this will significantly improve your ability to proceed with your training. Please let us know how things go.
I am one that does not embrace surprises - - because for me they usually turn out to be royal nightmares - - but late yesterday afternoon I received a very pleasant surprise: the new front porch railing was installed - - and it looks WONDERFUL. Sometimes what I think will look okay is not always the way things turn out - - but THIS ONE did!! Even the contractor was smiling with deep satisfaction of how the new railing looks and the improvement it gives to the front porch and front of the house. This is a home improvement that truly is worth the funds expended. So now ALL the contractor chores are DONE - - for which I am very thankful.
The severe storms that have been marching across country are expected to come through this region this evening into early tomorrow morning with potential for power outages. I hope the power outages do not happen, but am thankful I do have an emergency generator in case one happens in this area. I hope the storm does not pose a serious threat to you or LoveMyMickey or anyone else in your part of the landscape.
Noah is doing well. I am patiently waiting to hear the results of his blood tests from Tuesday. My precious boy is on his lamb's wool cushion in front of the window by the bed taking a nap with his paws over his eyes and his sweet soft little snore.
I'm so glad to know your precious Theresa and little Tang are doing well, my friend. I know this takes a HUGE concern off your heart and mind. And I do hope and pray that this new job will provide you the financial and employment stability that you and your precious companions need - - and so well deserve.
I hope today is treating you kindly at work, my friend, and that your travels home will be safe and expedient so that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang can have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hello moon_beam. Windy and rainy Thursday greetings to you and you precious Noah. I hope you are both well, and I'm keeping you both in my prayers that his blood work comes back OK. Also, glad to hear your porch railing was installed and looks good

I did get my IDs late this morning. However, I still lacked certain permissions to work the queue I was doing yesterday. So, another round of emails went out on that (sigh) Instead I worked with the same lead on a new process for international invoices. Apparently that will be my primary focus. New process, new person. Oh well. I will get cross training on other processes as time and staffing permits. I also got my phone installed around 4:00 with all the correct sign in for that. The lead looked it over and said she needs to get it changed so that I don't have to go into project as soon as I log in. Apparently as an admin I'm not supposed to be able to receive inbound queue calls. And the supervisor bent over backward to get supplies for my desk. I may be a contractor, but they sure are treating me like a "real" employee
The trip home wasn't bad until I got off my second bus to walk home. The truckers in the area LOVE to FLY down the road even in the pouring rain. I was drenched and the resulting updraft destroyed a brand new umbrella

I guess they think it's funny.
Theresa and Tang greeted me at the door, and they are both well. They are relaxing after getting their evening care. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a peaceful evening. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, T G I F greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits.
Sounds like progress is continuing in the right direction with your job. Having a phone is definitely a good sign, and now having a direction for your primary responsibilities is also positive. Although there are snafus with your IDs and other "stuff" as you get oriented and settled, it's so nice to see you having "upbeat" news to share about this job for the most part - - which is also promising that AIG will provide you the financial and employment stability that you and your precious companions so rightfully deserve. Please let us know how things go.
Dr. Neel called around 1:30 this afternoon with the results of Noah's blood tests. His glucose levels are elevated, and Dr. Neel wanted to begin him on insulin on Monday. I had the presence of mind to ask her if there was another blood test that could be done to confirm if he actually has diabetes, and she said yes. So I took him in for that blood test this afternoon, and the results should be received back by Monday. If this blood test comes back positive, I will be taking him in on Monday to begin training on how to test his blood and administer insulin. If this is what my precious Noah needs, I will do my very best - - but I have always cringed at the thought of having to do needles on my companions. And what if I get the insulin wrong??? This is absolutely new territory for me. Hopefully in time my confidence levels will improve, but right now I truly feel very inadequate. So, my friend, if my precious Noah needs insulin I am going to need the benefit of YOUR expertise to help me with this.
My precious boy is glad to be home and is upstairs at the moment enjoying the late afternoon sunbeams that are coming through the west windows. I need to get something to eat as I haven't had anything to eat since early this morning - - will probably fix a bowl of soup at this time.
I'm sorry you were drenched yesterday by the passing of the trucks, and that your new umbrella was ruined as well. That really is quite inconsiderate - - I truly am so very sorry. I hope you will not have this to contend with on your way home this evening.
Sunny and cool autumn TGIF greetings to you and your precious Noah.
I'm so sorry to hear about his elevated BG levels

It may very well be something other than diabetes. I know it will be hard waiting for the next round of tests. I went through that with Tom. At that time, Banfield had to outsource to a lab for that test. They now have the equipment in house, so I didn't have to wait for Tang's results. I'm keeping you both in my prayers that it's negative. But if it isn't, he can still lead a long and normal life with treatment. I will be happy to share my experience to help you through. It's the least I can do my friend. Just be sure that Dr. Neel puts on his chart "Do NOT anesthetize if glucose levels are higher/lower than X" And be sure it's followed to the letter. I think you know why.
I got my permissions worked out sometime after lunch and worked about 50 claims

Not bad for a newbie. It's so nice to get up and know I'm going to a job that has structure and virtually no stress. Judging from my 4 day check amount, it looks like my weekly take home pay will only be around 25.00 or so less than Insight. Perhaps it's the lower taxes in Indiana. That, and apparently I make 8 cents an hour more than I was told; tiny, I know but it was a pleasant surprise.
Theresa and Tang are well after their evening care and feeding, and are enjoying some balcony time. I hope today has been kind to you and Noah, and I hope you both have a very peaceful evening. We are keeping you both in our prayers. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sunny Caturday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits. It is always a blessing logging in to share your news as how you and your precious fur tribe are doing. I hope you are being able to get your errands completed early so that you and your precious Theresa and little Tang can enjoy the majority of this day together.
Thank you so much for your support with my precious Noah, my friend. I will be most appreciative of your insights, recommendations, guidance, etc., with my precious boy's medical needs. The sunbeams are shining brightly today, and my precious Noah is thoroughly enjoying them. His appetite is strong as ever, so I am looking at these behavioral signs as "positives".
Not a great deal happening around here today. It's quite breezy outside so it would be an exercise in futility trying to do any leaf clean up today. So Noah and I will just be hanging out together.
I'm so glad to share your news that your IDs have been straightened out and that you were able to leave your job yesterday with a feeling of accomplishment. I hope and pray this continues to be the case for you with this job, my friend. I'm sorry your salary will be less than what you received while with Insight - - but remember this is your STARTING salary - - it has the potential to increase. Until that happens, I hope the "loss" will not be too much of a burden for you. Please let us know how things go for you, my friend - - whatever you feel comfortable sharing with us.
I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening. Hello Tom's Dad, and happy Caturday to you, Tang and Theresa. I bet your fur kids are glad to have you home for the weekend.

I'm sorry that your new salary is less than what it was at Insight, but just like moon_beam said there is room for advancement. I'm glad you got set up and worked claims yesterday and that this is a relatively stress-free job. Mindy and Shelley are glad to have me home for the weekend, and as usual on a Saturday Mindy has been VERY talkative, calling me to the open window and wanting me to pet her. Shelley snuggled up with me in bed this morning after I fed my girls. She purred up a storm as I was petting her. Shelley is such a sweet cat and she loves getting attention and cuddles. She is a bit sad that she hasn't seen her tabby friend come out on the balcony across the way.

Hello moon_beam and happy Caturday greetings to you and your precious Noah.
Rest assured I will give all the help I can from my own experience if it comes to that. If it makes you feel any better, Theresa has had elevated BG from time to time, but she is not diabetic. It turned out to have more to do with her getting on in years, and I believe she and Noah are about the same age. For now we will keep you both in our prayers.
Don't feel bad about my making less on this job than Insight. I knew going in it was 2.00/hr less (well, 1.92/hr as it turns out) I am happy that due to a combination of a lower tax bracket, lower taxes in Indiana, and the possibility of KFORCE incorrectly calculating my taxes, my net pay isn't all that much less considering. It's still a drop in the bucket compared to when I was under the loan payments. The fact that this job is more in line with what I've been looking for makes it worth it.
Errands today took about 3.5 hours. I desperately needed a haircut, so I went to Kroger to pick up more Iams Senior for Theresa and Tang. As well as the generic for the the area homeless waifs. I also needed to swing by the bank for quarters for laundry. The change machine in the break room at work takes 5.00 bills, so that will be an alternative from time to time since I no longer have a PNC by where I work.
It rained for a bit earlier but the kids had already had balcony time prior, and it's sunny if a bit cool now. I hope today was kind to you and Noah and that you both have a most pleasant evening. TTFN

Thank you for sharing your happy tales (no pun intended) of your girls this morning. Tang was very "active" this morning too. Tearing around the apartment, chattering and playing with everything from strings, toys, and catnip socks. I think he was on kitty speed
As I said to moon_beam, I'm OK with the pay on this job. It's better all the way around. And if I am lucky enough to get hired just before Christmas, I will hopefully get a raise.

Hi, Tracy, sunny gusty windy Sunday greetings to you and your precious Theresa and little Tang from my precious Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious companions doing well and in good spirits. So glad your errands went well yesterday, and hope laundry time went smoothly this morning as well.
I am very glad to know your current job is a positive for you, my friend. Noah is doing well. His tummy this morning was still on daylight savings time, so he began his breakfast time "announcement" around 4 a.m. (which prior to this morning was 5 a.m.). He has had both his breakfast, and a late morning snack, and is now very contentedly snuggled next to me as I'm writing to you. The sunbeams are shining brightly today as well, which my precious boy and I are thoroughly enjoying. Soon it will be time to start getting some lunch on the stove warming, and more niblets in my precious boy's bowl. And I thank you so much, Tracy, for all your encouragement and support for my precious Noah with his health.
I hope today is treating you and your precious Theresa and little Tang, kindly, my friend, and that you and your precious companions will have a very peaceful, blissful, and cozy evening.
Peace and blessings,
