Hi, Tracy, sending greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this Wednesday evening. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits. Things may be slow this week as it is the "after the big holiday rush" slump but I think you can bet that things will pick up after the new year kicks in. But I do so understand about being bored on the job during the "slumps."
I'm chuckling at your Tang's catitude about getting his ear cleaned. He knows this is a labor of love for him even though it isn't his most favorite activity of the day. How is his ear looking? Is the growth still looking okay? Does it look about the same as his last vet appointment?
Life here is okay. I'm home with my precious Noah who is giving me his dinner dance reminder. Got my errands done after work today so tomorrow I can come straight home from the pit for a long weekend with my precious little boy. To quote Hannibal Smith of The A-Team, "it's so nice when a plan comes together."
I hope life is treating you, your precious Theresa and little Tang kindly today, and that you and your fur family will have a very peaceful and blissful evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your fur tribe are in my thoughts and prayers, my friend, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

I hope this finds you and Noah doing well (enjoy that extra day this week, I get mine Monday) They have told us to expect this until about the 2nd to 3rd week in January. Then it will get busy once the tax preparers start filing the returns and refund anticipation loans. But even then it won't be NEARLY as bad as it was in the "pit" due to more adequate staffing. Not sure how I'm supposed to go about standing out and getting noticed in a group of almost 400. But they do have a top performers every week, so who knows?
Tang's ear is looking fairly well over all. The growth is about the same size and it's less dirty lately. Still getting a little yellow gunk out of that area, but I think the tresiderm is keeping it in check. They are both wound up tonight. I had to fuss at Theresa for getting on the table and knocking my pen down. No sooner than I did, the little booger did it again! So I shooed her off the table and now she's trying to engage Tang in "chase me!" Not much else to report. Peace and TTFN

Hi Tracy, So good to hear that the new job is shaping up so much better than the old one! And also that Tang's ear is good at the moment...Purszi systematically knocked most things off the coffee table last night, so Theresa actually sounds pretty good by comparison!! Please give them both their favourite pats for me, thinking of the three of you, Leejaye

Hi, Tracy, it is always a blessing logging in to get caught up on your news. I'm chuckling about your precious Theresa. My Eli was a climber, and would swat things out of his way. One morning as I was leaving for work he apparently got up on a table in the upstairs living room that had a small vase of artificial flowers in it. He knocked it off onto the floor which set off the security alarm. Fortunately I was at the end of the driveway when the alarm went off, so I was able to hustle back inside the house to clear the alarm and call the monitoring station to not send the police. I checked on my fur tribe to make sure everyone was okay and then left for work. Eli didn't do that again. And I am so chuckling about this episode in our earthly journey together. My Eli - - my little Katzenjammer kid.
So glad to know that your little Tang's ear is doing very well. I know this takes a concern off your mind. I hope today is being a good one for you in your new job, and that you, your precious Theresa and little Tang will have a very peaceful and blissful evening. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious furkids. What a wonderful story about your Eli, it made me

Unfortunately Theresa does not learn from her "mishaps" (sigh) But I love her anyway. Today's work was more of the same - 7 calls total and more people from a training class starting tomorrow. I have a feeling I'm going to miss this time after January 16.
Leejaye, thank you also for the exploits of your Purzi

Hope you are both well.
Tang's ear looks OK (well, as OK as it gets) again tonight but Theresa making a huge racket in the tub did NOT make the cleaning tonight easy for either of us. She gets so full of energy when I first get home. Then tuckers out after about an hour. Even though she still looks like a kitten, I am reminded at that time she is almost 9 years old and approaching senior status. Where does the time go? It seems only yesterday I got her, but it was March 2007. Conversely, it seems like I've had Tang FOREVER, but it's only been since May. Maybe it the 600 plus comments on this thread so far that makes it seem so long

Not much else to report. Hope all is well with you and Noah. TTFN

Hi Tracy....I hope your work days continue to be pleasant. I also hope little Tang's ear continues to get better.......Speaking of the exploits of cats, I looked out the door through the blinds the other evening and saw Blackie wildly playing with his rug. He would run and grab one end, turn it over, and then look under the car to see if anything was watching him. He did that several times, so funny. He eats regular cat food, but I bought him a can of salmon today that Kroger had on sale for a dollar. He really loved me for that. He still won't come in the house.
Tracy, I hope you and little Theresa and Tang have a peaceful and cozy evening together.....God Bless...

Thank you LoveMyMickey for that wonderful story. Tang does the same thing with the bath mat each evening when I'm getting ready to shower. The fact that Blackie feels comfortable enough in your yard to play is a good sign. Keep at it, he'll come around. It took months with Tom and he was already and indoor cat (all be it with a psycho owner) One of the ways I did that was to put treats on the outer area of where he was hiding. Then each time, I would get a little closer until eventually he was actually taking them from my hand. Just a thought. Thanks for checking in

Hi Tracy....That's a good idea. He already sits on the step of the carport door which looks into the kitchen. He watches us through the plexiglass storm door. So he is almost inside.

....I will post a pic of him after I make it smaller sometimes. I still don't know if he is male or female, but he is getting fat.. He was skinny and wobbly when he first started coming here......

Hi, Tracy, it is Friday evening, and soon you will be home with your precious Theresa and little Tang. Noah and I send you and your precious fur tribe our greetings and hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits.
Well, my friend - - today is a highlight in your week - - you are finishing your second week at your new job, and have another holiday weekend to share with your precious furkids to celebrate this landmark event. I am so happy for you that your year is ending on a good note and that the coming year has promise and hope for you.
I know what you mean about watching Theresa's change in stamina. I am seeing the same changes in my Noah at 8.5 years of age. Every moment that I have with him is precious to me, as I know every moment you have with your precious furkids is precious to you and to them.
I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. I hope you and your precious fur tribe will have a very peaceful and blissful evening. Hi, Tracy, stopping by to say hello to wish you, your precious Theresa and little Tang good Caturday greetings from Noah and me. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits.
Tracy, the good news is that you are establishing a rapport with the bank that can have you in good stead in the future. You also have Today's as your agent. If you don't have any "encouragement" for extended employment at the bank within 30 days of your assignment ending, it would seem to me that you have every right to go to Today's to begin the process of finding other employment so that hopefully you can bypass the UE scenario. There is something to be said for "temporary" assignments, Tracy, and having an advocate on your behalf through Today's for employment opportunities, although I do understand how unsettling this can be for a sense of financial stability.
I hope today is being kind to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang, and that you have been able to get your errands done without having to endure the second blitz of holiday crush in the process. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. I was not sure I'd be able to get back here considering the main site was hacked. Who does that? Hacks a site for people trying to reach out to others about their fur kids? Anyway, yeah I just have to take the job one day at a time and hope for the best. I still post on jobs from various web sites that show up in my email. Yeah, I know what you mean about the hacking. I e-mailed the L S Administrator yesterday and I just checked the main page - - it's back to normal, thank goodness.
I'm so glad you are continuing in your own job search rather than "putting your eggs in one basket". With your technology background and know how I think you will be okay for employment options.
Noah and I are laying low today as tomorrow it is back to the pit for me. Happy new year to you and Noah as well. I just awoke from a nap on the sofa. Tang was laying on my chest purring away but really fussing with his ear. He was not happy that I took advantage of that to scoop him up into the bathroom for a cleaning. In the mean time Theresa took advantage of THAT to get her spot on the couch back. Litttle stinker. Time to get up and about anyway even though I'm off tomorrow. It's been pretty peaceful around here (knock wood) as from the absence of cars in the lot I think many people took advantage of the weekend holiday to go elsewhere which suits me just fine.
Yes, I will keep posting on jobs that pop up in my email that I think look like even a half way good fit. For now, just taking it as it comes. Hoping God and the Universe will lead me down the path that's right for me and the kids. Try to have a not too bad day tomorrow in the pit. Pats for Noah. TTFN

Hi, Tracy, sending hello greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me on this Monday evening. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits. As always it is a blessing logging in to get caught up on your news.
Since our feline furkids are cousins to the "big cats" they have inherited the "opportunist" trait - - so it is perfectly natural for your precious Theresa to make the best of any situation - - such as making dibs on the sofa. After all - - neither you nor Tang were using that space any longer - - and it was nice and warm, too!!! I hope Tang's ear is doing okay.
Survived day one of another year back in the pit. One day down, four to go. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Hope you and Noah are well. Today was pretty blah (and cold - even some flurries) Yeah, Theresa is very opportunistic as is Tang. She usually vascillates between the sofa and the chair in front of the computer desk - which ever I'm not using at the time. Right now, however, she's rediscovered and old favorite spot - in the cubby under the coffee table. Tang's ear doing OK. He got an extra mini cleaning today as he was fussing with it, but it wasn't too bad. He is always is quick to forgive. He has the loudest purr motor I ever heard. I can hear it now as he is sitting by the sliding door - a pretty fair distance away. Glad you survived another day in the "pit" It's back to work for me tomorrow as well. Right now I can't seem to shake a general feeling of "funk" not depressed exactly just not very optimistic either (sigh) I just wish I could get into a low stress decent paying job with good benefits that I knew I could stay with for the next 20 odd years. I'm not greedy, I just want that. I don't suppose it would hurt to keep praying (has not really hepled to date either) Pats for Noah TTFN

Happy New Year to you as well. Yes it was cold today. I had thought to run to the Save-A-Lot to get the things I forgot at Kroger, but the cold and the fact that TARC was on holiday schedule changed my mind. Perhaps on the way home one day this week. Hi, Tracy, stopping by to offer you, your precious Theresa and little Tang warm greetings from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits.
I know what you mean about just wanting a low stress job. Wish I could find that, too, but I think this is more wishful thinking than reality.
It has been quite chilly here, too. Yesterday there were some snow flurries floating around in the wind, but nothing more than that, for which I am very thankful. Basically only 10 weeks to get through in terms of bona fide winter type weather. I for one am hoping that the ski resorts are the only recipients of any winter type weather as they need for their livelihoods.
Noah is doing well, and I'm glad little Tang's ear continues to be okay. Have you scheduled your precious Theresa's check up yet as I remember you were waiting until after the holidays to take her.

Glad you made it through another day in the "pit" It was pretty slow again at work today. This is the last day we can opt to leave at 5:00 when the queue closes. Next week it's open until 8:00 and we have to stay until 5:15 - I was taking advantage of the option this week to catch "my" #18 bus home w/o having to wait since it was only 4 days anyway. I imagine next week we'll get a flood of calls from preparers since the IRS will start releasing funds 01/17.

If I read your post correctly, today you begin having to stay until 5:15 p.m. - - if so, or whenever this begins, I hope your bus connections home will be okay. If I remember correctly you only have one bus ride home instead of having to make a transfer. I hope this will make your travels home easier.
I will be eagerly waiting to know how your precious Theresa's check goes on Saturday. I know what you mean about learning "unexpected" news. Your precious Theresa, you, and your little Tang are in my thoughts and prayers that your little girl will indeed receive a good health report.

No, we can leave at 5:00 all this week. Next week when the call center stays open until 8:00 then it's 5:15. I have 2 choices on that for the bus. I can catch the 5:30 and have the "long" walk home or wait until 5:45 for the "short" walk which is probably what I will do most days as it's getting colder. I may take the 5:30 if I need to run a quick errand on the way and hop the 5:45 the rest of the way. I noticed 2 jobs in my general area of experience on their web site today and went ahead and applied. I figure it can't hurt, right?
I too hope Theresa's check up goes well this weekend (if Dr. Mills is back) I got a post card from them in the mail tonight reminding me for 01/16. I'll keep you posted. I hope you and Noah are well and keeping warm. TTFN

Thank you for clarifying about when your "extended" hours begin and your transportation choices. Today was the last "slow" week at work I suspect. We have more and more people coming on. It certainly is making any semblence of privacy in the bathroom hard. Since the bank uses the even floors in the building and leases out the odds, that's is where I have been escaping to for that but I doubt that will last long (sigh) The kids are doing well, but Theresa seems to have a bit of the sniffles; good thing her appointment is tomorrow. I hope its nothing serious. I know my sinuses go wonky in this type of roller coaster weather.
Moon_beam, sorry to hear your ankle hurts too. Yeash, I think it's the temp changes too. Hope yours feels better soon.
LoveMyMickey, 61 here today when I got home on my PC's weather icon. I'm glad Blackie came back. I suspect he found a warm "hide out" on his own. Keep at it though, He's starting to come around

Hi, Tracy, good Caturday greetings to you, your precious Theresa and little Tang from Noah and me. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits. I hope your little girl's check up today went okay.
Today has been a quiet one here for Noah and me. I have been doing "quiet time" work paying bills online, etc.. Since I pay my mortgage online I got my year end statement today online for tax information instead of having to wait until January 31 for a statement in the mail. Now all I need is my W-2 form and then I can get my information to the gentleman who prepares my taxes. I just don't have the brain power to understand all the changes in tax filings and the deductions and forms and on and on and on.
Noah is doing well. He's looking out the big windows for any woodland critters who may be gathering their dinners. The wind has started back up. Gusts may be up to 20 mph or so -- that's a lot better than the 40 plus mph gusts we got last week or so.

Good Caturday to you as well. Theresa's check up went just fine. She's as right as rain. Some changes at that office don't bode well though. When they told me Dr. Mills was taking over as main vet at the other location across town I should have known. They told me I'd have to wait until 5:00 to get her becuase the new vet had scheduled 9 surgeries! Dr. Mills would never have been so careless. What is she trying to be some kind of super star? When I told the woman I think it's time to find a new vet, and that I was serious, she went in the back to explain my transportation situation and that I'd been coming there 6 years. I was then told 12:00. I got the call to get her on my cell @ 11:40. I hate being the squeeky wheel, but sometimes that's what it takes.
Glad to hear you have most of what you need for tax season and hope it goes well. I'll be up to my ears in that stuff in the coming weeks at work. I hope you and Noah have a pleasant evening. TTFN

I too was glad that Theresa is OK. No I can't go to the other location because it's just too far and I would not be able to afford the cab fare. Perhaps by the time it's time for either of them to go back I could, but I'm not counting on it. If it becomes necessary for Tang to have ear surgery I will INSIST Dr. Mills come to the Outer Loop location to perform it.
I'm not in very good spirits today. It could be the standard Sunday evening 'I have to go back to work tomorrow' blues I suppose. But I just woke up from a nap after another one of those dreams where I am stuck living with my family again, brother and sister getting everything and being ignored and/or pushed around abusively. And a headache to boot. I'll get over it I suppose

One nice moment came this morning after laundry. I was laying on the couch flipping TV channels when Tang came to lay on my chest. A while later Theresa walked by looking forelorn. I patted my hand on the sofa and said she could come up, and she did! Right between my left side and arm. This has never happened before. They both laid there like that content for several minutes. Purring in stereo. It may never happen again, but it was nice in that moment. Hope you have an at least bearable day in the pit tomorrow. Peace, pats for Noah and TTFN.

Life doesn't get much better than that!!! To be sure it will happen again - - this is just another most precious "Kodak" moment with your precious furkids.
I'm sorry about your nightmare. Believe me, Tracy - - if life were to present you with that situation I would venture to guarantee there would be other options open to you. Dreams like that can give a "haunting" feeling for sure, but I hope this dream was the byproduct of the headache - - which I hope will go away quickly if it hasn't already.
Hopefully by the time your little Tang would need surgery on his ear Dr. Mills will once again be back to the Outer Loop location. So, does mean that for now your little Tang will be seen by this other vet for his check ups too? What did you think of this vet as she worked with your precious Theresa yesterday?
Once again, Tracy, I hope you and your precious fur family will have a very peaceful and blissful evening, and that tomorrow will be a good day for you on the job. And I'm hoping you will hear something positive from your applications to the other positions. Please know you, your precious Theresa and little Tang are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.
Peace and blessings,

Since I have had no contact with most of my family in over 20 years (not counting my aunt's wedding in 2001) when my then GF talked me into going down there. But that was sullied by my mother trash talking me to said GF. I don't think that dream would ever be reality. Just my neurosis over my past. That or glimpses into an alternate reality. If that's the case, I'll take my sorry lot in life in this one any day.
Dr. Mills may be at my office from time to time, but he's the head vet at the other one, so I don't see that happening often. But given my history with them I'm sure arrangements could be made to have him do the surgery at my office. The other vet? She comes across nice enough and I assume competent for the 'every day' stuff. I don't necessarily get a bad vibe off her like that other monster. If anything, I suspect she's new. When in doubt, I suppose I can always insist that Dr. Mills at least be consulted.
Thanks for checking on us

Today at work was still slow (10 calls total) At around 4:00 they had us move seats to accomodate more incoming training classes. The thing is, I stayed on my same row, just moved down a few seats. I found this odd since one of the return reps that sat behind me said she would be taking escelated (supervisor request) calls, and that this was the row for that. Just as we were getting ready to go, the call center manager came over to me and another new incoming person and said "You know we put/kept you here because based on your interview and background we'd like you take escelated calls, right?" Knock me over with a feather. I now know why the interviewer focused on my team lead experience. She said there would be an informal interview tomorrow, but saw no reason why we would not get it. It's more money, although I don't know how much. And I'm hoping (praying) a good omen of something more permanant.
The trip home was a bit longer having to stay until 5:15 now, but I'm still getting home earlier than before. Home to Theresa and Tang who are playing quite gleefully as I write this

Hope to post more positive stuff tomorrow, wish me luck! TTFN

This does not surprise me, Tracy. I am so very, very happy for you for this new opportunity. And of course the extra bit of salary doesn't hurt either. I am so looking forward to knowing how your interview went today.
More of the same here - - the most important news being that my precious Noah is doing well and I am home with him for the evening. I know you are always happy to get home to your precious Theresa and little Tang, as I know your precious furkids are always happy when daddy gets home.

Hoping this finds you and your precious Noah duing well. The interview went well I suppose. It was with the person I originally interviewed with and the call center manager. They asked some basic questions and it lasted all of 5 minutes. All of the others were 15-20 and involved all sorts of roll playing and they all looked really frazzled. I wondered why the difference out loud. The consensus was that the manager already knew me from Sykes and they were just going through the motions. One of the women interviewed said she had heard the manager speak highly of me in passing. I hope she's right

We are supposed to find out by the end of the week.
Like you, the best part of my day is getting home to my babies which I am. Both are doing well, but I had to break up a spat in the bedroom, I have no idea what it was about (sigh) Peace and TTFN

Hi, Tracy, it's always a blessing logging in to get caught up on your, your precious Theresa's and little Tang's news. Noah and I send each of you our warmest greetings on this damp chilly day. I hope this finds each of you doing well and in good spirits.
I am keeping this new opportunity for you in my thoughts and prayers, and will be looking forward to sharing your news.
If only we could hear our furkids talk to each other - -. Your precious Theresa and little Tang remind me so much of my Noah and his beautiful baby sister Abbygayle. They would have their spits and spats and then minutes later they would be curled around one another as if their earlier disagreement never happened.
I hope today is going well for you. Soon you will be heading home to your precious furkids for a well earned and well deserved peaceful and blissful evening together. I thank you for the blessing of your friendship, Tracy, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. Please know you and your precious furkids are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Hoping this finds you and Noah doing well and keeping warm. We still don't know about the position for sure, but the team lead assigned to it came to remind me that I need to punch out for lunch and that oh by the way you're on my team. So I guess that's a good sign.
Smiling at your recounting of Noah and Abbygayle. After their spat later I could not find Tang and was worried because he usually comes to watch TV wih me. I knew Theresa was in the bedroom soaking up the warmth of the little space heater. Sure enough, there was Tang looking out for his big sister. I told him what a good brother he is

Later he came out to lay on the back of the chair while I was finishing my show. Hope your evening is pleasant TTFN

Hope this finds you and Noah doing well and keeping warm. Started out clear and 45 this morning but by afternoon it was 25 with snow flurries and wind. Walk home was BRRR cold. But home now to the babies. It's offical we all got the job effective Monday and will get additional training then. Now to find out how much more money. I'd heard a dollar an hour being bandied about. One more day to Caturday and the weekend. We got our schedules for the next four weeks and I only have to work one Saturday and no Sundays

I'm going to settle in with the babies now. Peace and TTFN

Hi Tracy...Congratulations on the new job! Every little amount on the hour will help. I know you will do well and I hope it is permanent.
Wasn't that a mean cold front that came through. Gusty winds, snow showers, dropping temps, made me ache all over. We're running out of food, but I'm not going out in this weather. Blackie has been gone all week, maybe he has an owner.
Tracy, you are in my prayers that you will continue to be blessed in all that you do. Give those sweet furbabies a special pat for me. Take care and stay warm.....TTFN

Yes it was nasty cold. The snow was pretty to watch from the picture windows at work (6th floor Republic Plaza) I do hope Blackie is OK and will say a silent prayer for him ......keep warm

Hi, Tracy, sending you, your precious Theresa and little Tang warmest greetings from Noah and me. I hope this finds you and your precious furkids doing well and in good spirits - - as I know you are celebrating your "promotion"!!!! I am so very thrilled for you, my friend, and please accept my sincerest congratulations on your very good fortune.
It is quite chilly here. I remember very well the bitter chill walks from bus stops, and I hope your walk this evening will be a short one. I hope the cold weather does not play havoc on your electricity - - and in particular your heat.
Noah is doing well. I am so very glad to be home with my precious little boy for the weekend. I thank you, Tracy, for the blessing of your friendship, and of your precious Theresa and little Tang. I hope each of you will have a very peaceful and blissful evening. Please know you, your precious Theresa and little Tang are in my thoughts and prayers, and that I always look forward to sharing your news and your treasured memories of your beloved Sir Thomas.

Thank you moon_beam and LoveMyMickey (still praying for Blackie)
They were letting day shifters go home an hour early if wanted so I did and managed to get home in time to catch a nice nap. Still cold but supposed to get a bit warmer over the next few days. I got a VM from the agency and the raise is indeed a dollar per hour, so that's nice.
I am home with the babies on a Caturday eve and that's nice. I was worried I might have to take Tang back to the vet as I was getting more yellow gunk than I thought I should an little red (but that could just have been his scratching) But the Tresiderm drops are making the ear look much better tonight. And he's not fussing with it. So unless it starts to look bad again, I think we can hold off for a while. I hope this finds you all well and keeping warm. TTFN
