Hello Everyone. Please forgive me for not being here. I know you will.

God Bless Each of You and Your Angel Fur and Feather Kids! Scale Babies too, of course. This October will be three years since Alex was abducted along with Buddy dog and Styx kitty. God smiled upon me and led me to my two fur babies exactly one day before they were to be put to death. For that, I am truly grateful! As far as Alex goes, I know he's dead and has been for a long time. It just took me ... Well, I do realize that to be true. For anyone who may be reading this, please don't do as I've done. Please, try to forgive yourself, forgive the culprits if such is your case, do anything you can to get yourself through this most gosh awful time in your life. Why? If you don't, you can cause yourself physical problems, actual physical diseases such as those relating to your heart, lungs, pancreas (diabetes), seizures, strokes, compromised immune system, and the list goes on and on and on ... Yes, even cancer. Fact.

Right here. Right now. Where you are at Lightning Strike is the most wonderful thing you can do for yourself, your family, your friends, coworkers, and even "Joe Bag 'O Donuts" who you've not yet met. But! While you are here talking, typing, whatever you want to call it ... Please, do not make the mistakes I made. I came here to talk with Alex, bring him his pretty pictures, music and videos he loved so much. Don't get me wrong. That's great to do, too. However, I rarely (practically never) spilled my guts. Dear Ones, ya gotta spill your guts even if it's several times a day, night, anytime at all. As seldom or as frequently as you're able. I've found that everyone at Lighting Strike are the most caring, compassionate, loving people and they'll all bend over backwards to get you the answers, help, videos, articles and so on that fit your own personal needs. Remember, no one can help if they don't know you're in need of help. You may think you're becoming a burden, repeating things over and over again, crying here every moment of every day? No, precious fur and feather kid mommies and daddies. No one here will ever see you that way. Why? Because they've either been through or are going through what you are right at this moment. Members and staff here don't just sympathize, they empathize and truly feel your pain, grief and devastation ...

So, please don't hide it. Please let it all out as often as you are able. It's by sharing and caring that we help each other to find that Healing Path. Me? Three years and not yet ... Because I didn't want to spill my guts. God Bless You All Most Abundantly! There are several people I wish to shout out to and say hi, I miss you, I love you and thank them again and again and again ... Gotta wind it up now because it's becoming very difficult to type ... Oh, Dottie, it is SO good to hear from you! We all worry when we don't--we know that you've been having big health problems and other big issues to contend with. Please go on doing just what you do--check in with us from time to time so that we know that you are still alive!

Yes, this IS the right place to spill your guts. This is the most compassionate, caring, loyal, wise group of people I have ever come across, and I consider myself lucky and honored all the time to be a part of this group. We ARE here to help, and nothing shocks us. We ALL go through cycles of up and down, regardless of how long it's been since we lost our last fur or feather-child. We all understand grief, and depression, and anger, and numbness, and guilt--because we've all been there ourselves.

Sending much, much love to you--thanks for the links--I'll go see if they are in one of my threads. Dottie, please take care of yourself and know that we all love you a lot!!

Hi, dear Dottie, I'm so o o o glad to see your post. Tomorrow is Oslo's 9 month anniversary of joining the angels, and you were there with me to hold my hand and share my grief. I think of you often, dear Dottie. We feel your spirit with us, comforting us, and I hope with all my heart that you feel me reaching out to you, comforting you in whatever situation you're dealing with.

Dottie, I would not know how to "successfully adjust to" the abduction of any of my beloved companions. What happened to you, Alex, and your fur companions is - - criminal. I'm so glad you were able to reunite with Buddy dog and Styx kitty, but I also know the HUGE hole that is in your heart about Alex. Alex knows you never wanted this to happen to him. Alex knows he is always in your heart, and he is always forever with you.

Dottie, again, it is soo o oo good to see you again. I hope this means you are doing better. Please know you are frequently in my thoughts and prayers, Dottie, and do so look forward to hearing from you and knowing how things are going with you.

We get so many birds in our garden , all varieties. We are very fortunate that they visit and nest here with us. Today Dave called me as we had a beautiful Woodpecker in our Silver Birch tree, we haven't seen him before. We have the 'green woodpeckers' visit quite regularly, but he was a newcomer.

Hi, Dottie, it's so o o good to have you here with us again. What a beautiful collection of pictures - - Nature's beauty indeed. I so enjoy watching the woodland critters - - fur, feathered, etc. - - around my little house in the woods. It's been so horribly hot here this summer - - very horribly unseasonably hot - - that even the woodland critters have been conserving their energy and staying in the shaded thickness of the wooded areas. Every morning and evening I hold my kitty boy Noah at the doors and windows checking to see if we have any visitors to our yard. It is so nice feeling his tail wag back and forth as I'm holding him in my arms in anticipation of seeing a squirrel or bird or rabbit - - or even a little lizard that is native to our wooded area.

Dottie, you are so o o o special to us. You share such beautiful pictures and videos with us, too. You are so oo wonderfully creative with your special treasures you give to us in loving memory of our beloved companions. You are a blessing, and it is so o o o good to see you once again. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, sweet Dottie, and look forward to knowing how you're doing.

Hey, Dottie - - I definitely would be calling "here, kitty kitty kitty" or trying to roar like the male lions do - - calling to my "pride" that it's time to come home. I hope when the pilot got back into the plane he didn't find a four-footed passenger / stowaway. Ah yes, life does get interesting sometimes. I liked "The Twilight Zone" too, along with The Outer Limits, One Step Beyond, Tales from the Dark Side, and of course Alfred Hitch##.

Thank you so o o much, Dottie, for sharing that with us. I live in the Blue Ridge / Piedmont region of South Central Virginia. Our temperatures for most of the summer have been 100 plus with heat indices the same. Evening temperatures have only "cooled" to the 80 something area. This past week temperatures have moderated a bit to be more "normal" but still temperatures have been in the 90's during the day and the 70's at night. I hope this isn't a preview of the opposite extreme as to what our winter is going to be like. I really am not up to shoveling snow every week like we did last winter. I am ever so grateful for the "Good Samaritans" who stopped as they were passing by to help me.

Hi, Dottie, you are so o o creative with the graphics. What a blessing you are to us!! We are enjoying beautiful weather here today. I have the big basement door open and gated off so that Noah and I can enjoy listening to the woodland critters. One of the residents has chickens and a rooster (or roosters) and at least one of the roosters has been crowing all day long. It is so funny -- and wonderful - - to listen to.

Thanks again, Dottie. I hope life is treating you kindly. I'm s o o o o glad that the episode with the dog and the driver turned out okay. Bless you for putting your life in harm's way to save the precious furkid. And, I hope you are feeling better today with the antacid medication.

Hi there, Moon Beam. So glad to hear the weather's not as hot today. I don't get to hear many if any woodland critters around here. We've got raccoons, squirrels, possums and the like though. However, it's so great that I get to at least hear a rooster, too. I'm fairly certain from the crowing that it's just that one. The sound comes from in back where I live and perhaps three to five blocks away. No, I'm not making this up. Promise. There are times when I hear him crowing only in the very early morning. I'm so pleased that you liked my response to you in the form of that graphic I made. LOL. It's so much easier for me to speak using images than ... Wait. I write a whole lot of poetry. Wait yet again. Many, and perhaps most, of my poems are inspired by photos, art, images and so forth that I see. Oh, and videos. That is obvious.

As far as me putting my life in harm's way to save the doggie, that wasn't heroic. Naw, not really. I feel another Rod Serling moment: "Imagine if you will. You're a shut in and never leave your house. But, you've got a tummy ache and want some medicine. You know you can make the short trip to the corner store safely if you just walk very slowly and are careful. As you leave your home and approach the street, a dear, sweet, friendly dog sees you and wants to play with you. The dog runs to you. A car comes speeding out of nowhere and hits the dog. The dog is dead. All because you chose this one time to leave your house ...

Also: Imagine if you will. The dog's owner saw everything that happened. A stylish woman in her 30's. She's talking on a cell phone near the house in a fenced in lawn with the double wide gates open. She couldn't care less about her dog being dead nor the cries of a small female child screaming for help. Further, imagine if you will that Moon Beam receives a phone call from her pal Dottie. Dottie's a calm, laid back, rational lady. Not this time. Dottie's phone call to Moon Beam comes from the county jail as she requests that Moon Beam send her some money from her checking account because she trusts Moon Beam with her personal banking information.

Why is this sweet, dear, lovely lady in jail with need of bail money? Because she went Jackie Chan on the cell phone lady's butt and whacked her into the next millennium. Stay tuned next episode to find the cell phone lady's reaction at suddenly finding herself millions of years in the future. That's when she finally reacts with anguish. Why? Her cell phone battery is low and there's no way she can recharge it. A real nightmare for her. Will Karma get the cell phone lady but good and proper? We shall witness that revelation. I'll see you next week in this place we like to call The Twilight Zone."

And, there you have it, Moon Beam. Yes, I would have become hysterical if that pooch had been hit while running to play with me. Yes, and I would have gone Jackie Chan on the cell phone lady if she remained completely without emotions or even cared. It was obvious that her phone chatting was far more important than the life of a creature. Even her own fur kid ...

Moon Beam, she is really the one who got lucky. You know me well enough by now and am aware how very much of a "walk away" person that I am. I wouldn't have been had the dog been hit and the lady did nothing. Yes, it's difficult to walk at times. The cane helps. However, something happened! It's just like the mother who's able to lift a car off her child to save it. Why do I have such strong maternal instincts even though childless? I just dunno. So very glad for people like us that do have that instinct though. Dang Skippy!

By the way, they're having problems with Troodon dinosaurs in many UK residential areas. Making pests of themselves as they go through the garbage cans outside and making a mess of their cars. Well, I've got at least one here. The Troodon dinosaur is in the raptor family, but I still fear one may get at Buddy dog when he's outside. Here's a BBC news video so you can see them.

After all, it's usually the rats who desert first, right? With less "baggage" onboard it takes longer for the ship to sink and better chances for a proper rescue.

Hi, Dottie, thank you so o oo much for the wonderful lost episode. That is GREAT!!

Yeah, I know a LOT about the challenges of "high technology". It's wonderful when it WORKS, but when it doesn't it's very, very, very frustrating indeed - - especially when you're not a "techno geek" - - which is definitely what I'm NOT. About a month ago I was able to pay off the Dell bill for fixing my lap top that developed many "issues" and ended up needing a new mother board among other things. It was money well worth spent.

It's so nice having you back with us, Dottie, and I hope that life is treating you kindly - - in spite of your computer issues. Life here is okay. I have reasonably good health, I have my precious little Noah, I have my little house in the woods - - and my wonderful friends on this forum. I am blessed, and I thank God every day for His abundant mercies and blessings.

Dottie, I will look forward to hearing from you whenever possible, and please know you are frequently in my thoughts and prayers every day.

Hi, Moon Beam! I'm so glad you enjoyed the Lost Episode from The Twilight zone video that I happened upon. But, you never did say if you felt it ought to have been shelved and never aired. Well, that clip scared the bageebies outta me! So, I suppose the producers and TV network CEO's didn't want to risk it and perhaps cause anybody having a heart attack or stroking out while viewing. Yeah, I'll bet that's why. Ya think? Anyway, I sure as heck couldn't get to sleep after watching that clip. Eeekkkk!

Say, I have a Dell, too. In fact, this is my third computer ever. The first one was a Gateway and the other two are Dells. Mine's a desk top and I've never owned a laptop. To be honest, I really don't know how to use a laptop. Don't even recall ever seeing one except in movies and such. Now, the truth is out. I really live in a cave which happens to be in a third world country. One would sure think so. The Dell I'm using now is a Dimension 9200 and is supposed to be great, but I've had nothing but problems with it since this PC was gifted to me by my brother a few years ago. Ain't gonna tell him either. So dear of him to surprise me when he got that bonus. Bless him!

Wow! I understand you've also had lots of issues with your laptop, however needing a new motherboard is a catastrophe! I don't know too much about computers, but needing a new motherboard might be analogous to a car needing a new engine. No. Wait. Much worse than that because car engines can be diagnosed, replaced and installed pretty fast and not so expensively when using the right parts. Moon Beam, I'm so sorry that happened to you! But ...

What about the Dell technician I sent to your home so he could explain all the ins and outs of computer motherboards? Wait. I'll get him on my PC and be right back. Hi, Dottie, well I didn't want to give the plot away of the lost episode just in case others clicked in to view it. I guess things don't scare me as much anymore now that I'm in my senior years. I guess the old adage is true: Everything past the first 50 years is just a repeat. It is a GREAT episode!!!

If only computer geeks were as adorable as the one in the picture!! A lap top is the same as a desk top - - runs the same way. It has a battery but also runs from an AC adapter which is what I use. For internet connection I use a wireless router which lets me get away from the confines of having to be at a desk connected to a cable for internet connection. A lap top cannot take the place of a desk top to do large scale tasks - - like major graphics, etc., although I know there are some folks who use only a lap top for designing graphics, etc.. They are to be commended for their computer expertise. I use my lap top for internet research, e-mails, documents, and such, but I use my desk top for the "heavy" workload and for online bill paying. Lap tops are not as secure against identity theft as desk tops are, but identity theft can occur on either one if you're "targeted" through spyware, phishing, etc., even if you have a top of the line protection program. I wish people who have such talent for wreaking havoc could instead channel their talents and energies into positive creativity.

Both my desk top and lap top computers are now 7 years old, and lap tops are not designed to last this long - - hence the need for some major overhaul work to get it back to working okay. Even my desk top has needed some professional intervention but nothing major like my lap top, thank goodness. I'm not really looking forward to having to invest in new computer(s) any time soon. I still have my first computer but only use it for scanning now. It amazes me that it even still turns on. It has W 98 on it which is why the scanner still works on it as the scanner is as old as the computer - - now 13 years old or there abouts. I'm sorry that you are having so many problems with your computer, Dottie. Believe me, I do so understand how frustrating that is.

Life here is okay today, and I hope it is well with you, too. You are a blessing to me and to everyone on this wonderful forum, Dottie. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh my, Moon Beam, seven years is a very long time to maintain any computer. I sure do hope that your desk top and laptop will continue to take a licking and keep on ticking like in those old Timex watch commercials. At least one of them. This next thing I'm going to share is not a joke. Thought I ought to say so in advance because I keep pulling your leg so much. Well, my brother Tony called me fairly early this morning and said he'd had at least five calls so far from his pals who saw me on a TV show. What the heck? I ain't been on TV for the past many years since I got sick, lost my figure, face, hair, etc. and no longer did any modeling for a local high end fashion store called Colony Shop and some nationwide ads for a real estate company ...

Moon Beam, I don't recall whether or not I ever mentioned that one of the police visits to my home in October of 2007 was video taped. You see, there were the two responding officers Cooper and Arnold as well as a three man team with ... I remember the one fairly large video camera on its stand. Anyway, they asked for my permission to tape the interview session and use it for police training purposes. Sure! I wanted the world to know and have Alex's story told ...

Guess what, Moon Beam? The world knows now. At least here in America. That clip appeared this morning nationwide on a popular TV series called The Rookies which is on A&E for those who have cable or a satellite dish. Needless to say, I did not see the show. However, I sure want to find it on the Net so I went searching. Tony had originally told me it was on the BET network and they also have a show called The Rookies. May be the same show. The BET network also has a TV series called Rookie Blues. Both are police related stories. That was a waste of a few hours of my time while searching with this poor, tired PC. Oh, I was all over YouTube as well.

Rookie Dennis Cooper has been searching for his police voice since he started the training program.

It is him. Dennis Cooper is the main Officer who did all the talking. That poor man. I was so hysterical, screaming and crying about Alex since I'd already gotten back Buddy dog and Styx kitty. Officer Cooper was so wonderful! Calm. Professional, but calming. What's not on that tape is how Officer Cooper when above and beyond the call of duty helping me at another of his visits to my home. The other officer was very nice, too. But, he didn't say much if anything at all. Possibly he was in training.

I've not located that episode yet and those highly graphic intensive sites suck the juice dry out of this poor machine. So, I found out how to get hold of Officer Cooper, left a message with the lady and assured her it isn't urgent. Officer Cooper will phone me back when he has a chance and hopefully can direct me to that clip. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you, God! Alex's story is being heard nationwide and the names of those monsters are revealed. Karma at its best again. That is, unless they bleeped out those names. We'll see. I don't care. I'm just so happy that Alex's story is out there for all to see and hear. So very grateful! Oh Moon Beam, I feel truly very Blessed!

Hi again, Moon Beam. I did find that video. I'm in part one but will list all the parts of the episode. That lying #%@&% Ida!!!
They edited out a TON including my hysterical screaming and crying. Officer Cooper looked thin to me then, and I look fat as Hades, too! So very Humiliating!!! Now you'll know why I hide from people's stares.

This is the first time I've heard the woman's voice when the Officers go outside to make that phone call: That's is not Ida talking. I know her voice well. Ida's voice is quite a bit higher in pitch and, like I've said here, she has a very thick Hispanic accent. But, the woman on the phone did present herself as Ida unless Officer Cooper made a boo boo. I truly don't think that's the case. You know he's being watched like a hawk by Officer Arnold (sp?) while being trained. Logic dictates here. And! Remember that Ida picked up Buddy dog, Styx kitty and Alex parrot from my home and was paid $100 to care for them during house fumigation. I was here when she, her husband and Julia Galpin loaded them into Ida's vehicle for transport. They were at her home until at least 10/13/2007 because I heard them on the phone when I called Ida's house from the motel twice day to check on them. Those most egregious, unconscionable Monsters!!!

It's also not Julia Galpin. Julia's voice is much, much lower in pitch and she has a distinctive UK accent. My guess is that it's one of three women: Laura Pavan (Nico Pavan's wife), someone who works for Julia Galpin or Nico's sister. Gonna leave out her name because she holds a high ranking title working for the government. She's also the fourth person I've alluded to in several posts here. Would she make that call for Nico? Yes. Does a lot of his bidding. Is it her? I've never heard her voice so can't even make a best guess.

It could be Nico's wife, but I'd want to hear (name withheld) voice to compare ...

I wonder if (name withheld) is anywhere on YouTube. After all, she does a lot of work regarding child abuse. At least she did then. I'm gonna look. BRB. Nope, can't find her on YouTube. But, she's gotta be somewhere on the Net speaking on a video. If it's out there, I'll find it. Besides, that doesn't sound much like Laura Pavan either. Laura has a hint of a Southern accent.

Oh, and I swear my butt ain't anywhere that big. Oh My Gawd! So very embarrassing!!! Say, I well recall Officer Cooper's appearance when he was here and he looked thin and tall. Perhaps it's true what's said about TV making one look 25 pounds heavier. Cooper looks well built but stocky in this clip. And see how they made sure to show my bird clock which is still up but not working. Also, Alex's photo on my PC. The officers wanted to see him.

This man is shot with a dart to the neck by a member of the Rametep cult. Hello to anyone who may be reading this. I feel the need to talk and ... Well, I listened to the taped phone call again a few minutes ago when the police officers responded on October 16, 2007. Like I said, that is not Ida Cesareo nor Julia Galpin, but she does present herself as Ida. This time I listened closer and heard something I didn't catch before because the woman on the phone says it quickly and it's difficult to make out what she's saying. The first time I heard that call yesterday on tape, I did catch her saying something about her picking up my pets and taking them to the shelter so my house can be fumigated. Well, that's a freaking lie! Just read my second post on page one of this thread. I was here when both Ida and Julia came to my home, loaded my pets to take to Ida's home for three days charging me $100.00. Had to be cash and not a check. Now, the reason for that becomes even more clear ...

This time, I listened closer to that taped phone call by the lady claiming to be Ida but is not. She said that the management had told her to pick up my pets and take them to the shelter so my house could be fumigated. Suddenly, I began shaking, got dizzy, heart racing, felt like throwing up so ... My God, this is so hard to type. I'll do my very best ...

I phoned Julia Galpin's office and left a message with Stephanie. Told her that I now have on a taped police phone call all that I just mentioned above. I told Stephanie that I'm sure Julia is tired of being the fall guy for Nicola Pavan because she's expressed that even at HOA meetings and those meetings are all taped with everyone's permission. Yes, I have that meeting's tape about my home and pets. Those monstrous liars!!! Anyway, Stephanie is a nice lady so I tried to be as kind as possible when asking her to please get my message to Julia. That I have new evidence that puts Julia Galpin and all her businesses in jeopardy. That is, if I choose to pursue. And, I shall. But! If I can get the truth and she can prove it's the truth, then all I want are answers so that I can at long last have closure. I even promised to sign a release stating that I'll just walk away. That is what I pray will happen. I truly just want to walk away ...

However, this has gone on haunting me for far too long. I ain't no spring chicken anymore and don't want to take 10 or 15 years for my heart and soul to mend. Heck, I don't have that much time left anyway because of my age. Please pray that Julia Galpin will cooperate. It may not even matter if she does cooperate because she's dumb as dirt. Oy. Hopefully she'll discuss the matter with her lawyer who has got to be sharper than ... I dunno. You ought to have seen the release he wanted me to sign ... Oy. No one in their right mind would have signed that and I told Julia, too. Nicely told her.

Okay, I think I'm done for now. Gonna turn off this PC and go cuddle with my fur and feather kids for a while.

Dottie, it doesn't surprise me that viewing the videos has brought to surface many emotions that have had to be suppressed in order to just survive this horrible, tortureous experience - - not just for you but for your precious companions, and specifically Alex.

I don't think there is ever really any "closure" to a loss - - whatever it may be. I think the more accurate description is "adjustment". To say "closure" refers that the matter is done, over with, forgotten. That's not the case with a traumatic event, and certainly not one that involves the physical loss of a loved one - - whatever the life form. As time progresses we may "adjust" to the inevitable changes that occur just to function, but for anyone to expect a person to "move on", "forget", etc., the circumstances of one's life's experiences is ludicrous, unless a person develops permanent amnesia.

Dottie, I do hope Julia gives you the assistance you need to finally learn what happened to your precious Alex, and any other circumstances you need answers to. It is high time you got the answers you have been wanting and needing since this event occurred.

Dottie, please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and will look forward to knowing how you're doing, and how things are going in your ability to get some answers from Julia.

It was such a great help to read “Your Fur Child Loss Devastation”. It touched on all of the feelings, emotions of guilt, etc. that I am presently going through. Once again thank you so much. I have also lit a candle for Lukas today.

I have read through your story about Buddy your dog, Styx your kitty and Alex your parrot. I am so so very sorry for what you have gone through and continue to go through. I am so angry to hear what these people have put you through and how they are still out there. My prayers go out to you and to your beloved parrot Alex. What a beautiful fur friend he is. May you begin to find peace in your heart and may you get the answers to what happened to Alex.

I hope that your Pc is not causing you too many problems, as I haven't seen you for a few days. I also have a 'Dell' with very little RAM. Hi Jan, this dad gum PC is giving me almost as much trouble as Percy bird. Oy. Well, I'd shove this contraption out of the second story window in a heartbeat if I had the means to get another. And, this one's getting pretty old, too.

As for Percy bird, ain't no way I'd ever sell him, give him to a Parrot Rescue or even a wonderful bird lover as a pet. Maybe I'm tooting my horn and maybe I'm not, but I simply do not believe that anyone will be as kind, patient and loving to such a cantankerous winged critter who's so stubborn, willful, nippy and ... Just a conversation with anyone who may be reading this. October 11th marks three years since I last saw my most precious Alex Angel Feather Child before he was abducted along with Buddy dog and Styx Kitty. Oh, please believe me when I say how very grateful I am to have gotten back my fur kids especially since it was exactly one day before they were to be put to death. God smiled on us! As for Alex, he was the very best friend I've ever, ever, ever had in my entire life. That even includes my late husband Kenny who, and I don't mean to sound sacrilegious but ... That man walked on water! The most wonderful, loving, caring, smiling, hard working, hard playing, compassionate, generous ... Oh, I could go on and on forever about Kenny. How tremendously fortunate that I grieved a relatively short period of time after Kenny's passing in 2003 after which I've been left with the most wonderful memories imaginable. What a guy ...

Anyway, for those who haven't waded through the tons of information I've given about Alex, it was determined by experts who did not know me nor Alex personally that he had the cognizance (memory, reasoning ability, speech, judgment and so on), behavior, personality, emotions, perceptions and more the same as that of "A four or five year old normal human child." If you'd met him, conversed with him ... More ... It truly would have knocked your socks off! It did for many who had the opportunity to befriend him. He recognized and remembered photos, songs, people ... Everything ... Many years after the fact, especially his pals Cocoa kitty, Trader and Maiden dogs, Kenny, you get the picture. It was amazing! Astonishing! Okay, I'll say it: Astounding! Much like elephants and dolphins ...

Only Alex could speak and he said what he wished to communicate ... Always and without fail he sure did ... Within his huge vocabulary, of course. And, there was only one play phrase which I taught him for fun and don't see how he would have known what it meant. Then again, he may have learned the meaning from TV as he did many things. Very observant creature and he learned a whole lot by pure observation. Okay, enough about that.

The thing is that I don't have his body to visit and never will. So, I thought it would be lovely to have a "Virtual Funeral" for him right here at LS! Now, that put a smile big on my face. Honest, it did. Sure surprised me! There's a beautiful headstone that I chose for him, yet I don't really like what I put on it so will change that. And, I was thinking bagpipe music ...

Then, I searched bagpipe music on YouTube. Sorry, but the songs "Oh Danny Boy" and "Amazing Grace" just won't cut it. Please, don't get me wrong. I love both songs very much especially when performed by bagpipes. However, I don't know if Alex would even like the sound of bagpipes. Can't be sure about that. Heck, Alex's very favorite song was "Lullaby of Broadway." Unfortunately, YouTube deleted the best Doris Day "Lullaby of Broadway" performance. Dang. I know Alex loved Rainbow Connection sung by Kermit the Frog and YouTube has that. Still, it's a bit on the slow side as well when it comes to celebrating new beginnings. Perhaps River Dance? Wow!

Gee, I have in my own Will that my "funeral" will be a very fun party and even listed some neato suggestions as to food, music, entertainment and, you get the picture. Ain't gonna be no tears when I cross over. People will be in as much of a Disneyland type environment as my life insurance will allow. Kind of irreverent? Naw. At least I don't think it is. My hope is that people will remember my send off with joy! So, why not my mostest, bestest friend, constant companion, confidant and child. Yes, Alex was my child just as your fur and feather kid Angels are yours. I got to thinking, and thinking some more then ...

Ah Ha! Alex loved beautiful colors and fascinating movement. A video came to my mind and I found it! Most of you have probably already seen the performance to which I refer. It's way, way, way awesome and that's an understatement. Word! Also, this version, even though the same as the one Alex loved so much, is in High Definition and far more colorful. Superb! I'm trying to decide which day to have this lovely, festive funeral that Alex would love sooooooo much. Also, whether to have it here or in the Tribute area. Let me see, the last time I heard his voice was on October 13, 2007 over the telephone as he repeated again how much he loved me and kept making his kissing sounds. But, it was after October 16, 2007 that I realized he wasn't coming home. In fact, it was on October 17, 2007 when I found out those ... culprits ... had lied their butts off and Alex was not at the pound in the next county with Buddy dog and Styx kitty. Never had been ...

I've been using the date October 16, 2007 since that's most likely the date that "it happened" to Alex since ... Well, because. That day is a good day to have a festive Virtual Funeral for my darling, sweet baby boy. Oh, I sure hope there will be a big turn out for him. I know that I can count on most of you ... You know who you all are. I can never thank you enough! By the way, I have a second choice that is also awesome which I'll probably include after the first post. Very entertaining indeed!

This time last year is when I first met you and your fur/feather babies. I couldn't have got through without your caring words and songs and beautiful images. You were always there, right when I needed someone, as if you certainly were in touch with my Angels. Remember all those.... 'can't be a coincidence' times we shared, they were just unbelievable and it really did convince my broken heart and mind that our fur/feather babies are still so connected to us no matter what side of the 'Rainbow Bridge' they are.

I must admit that at least that one time freaked me a little the way Noushka, Tasha and Alex kept showing up at every turn that day beginning with Noushka holding the red rose in her mouth for you. Dear Dottie,

I have just read parts of your post and discovered what brought you here at the beginning. Alex was just a baby in parrot years when he was so viciously taken from you. I am so sorry. You have put your heart and soul into this forum to help others like me and I will be eternally grateful. I am only able to take baby steps right now in dealing with the loss of Bailey but your links and kind words including those of others help me get through the moment.

I will definitely "be at" Alex' virtual funeral. Just let me know when.

P.S. Styx is absolutely my all time favorite band as was my husband's. I wrote a tribute to him after he died saying that I knew he was with his best friend, Don (who died tragically at the age of 21), eating his peanut M&Ms, drinking his Dr. Pepper, planning their next waterski trip and listening to his favorite bands, Styx and Journey.

It's so lovely to read about your wonderful Alex. What a special boy he is. I'm sure even now all the other feather Angels look at him with awe, and he's constantly amazing them with his abilities. And he's saying to them, "You know why I can do all these things? You know why I'm so clever? Because I have the most amazing Mom who loved me with all her heart and helped me to grow!"
