Hi everyone, just joined your group for a bit of support and hopefully to support others. I lost my darling 3 yr old boy, a gorgeous black and white cat called Ulriich 6 months ago. He was killed on the road in the early hours of the morning. I was awake and heard him cry out when he has hit. It was just the second time I hadn't been able to find him to put him inside. We live on a farm and there is hardly any traffic at night, but the one lousy car that did go past hit him and it's just not fair. I was grief stricken, sought help and felt a bit better for a while, but now I am relapsing into depression again and I don't know why. Can anyone give me any advice?

Hi Madi
Can't really help as the pain is so bad. Lost both of my darling Sammies now, Tasha 3 years ago and Noushka just 2 month ago. Some days are slightly better but that constant sadness is always with me, and I believe thats what you are still feeling.
That was such a sad thing to have happened to your darling Ulrich and you must have suffered such shock.
My Noushka seemed to go very quickly too, as she seemed so well just a few days earlier. Its sometimes harder for us to cope when it happens like that.
Your Ulrich would want you to go on and not let his passing make your life sad and unbearable. Remember how much he enriched your life, and you his. Thinking these thoughts about my sammies are what keep me going. They hated it whenever I was sad and I'm sure Ulrich would be the same with you.
Sorry I can't help more, but I am sending love and just wanted you to know that you must never feel alone.
Thinking of you

Thank you for your very kind words Jan. I took a look at your photos of Tasha and Noushka, what beautiful dogs they were. I know what you mean about the sadness, I just hope it gets easier for both of us as time goes on. My grand daughter has lived with me for the past 3 yrs and she adored Ulriich and he adored her. He used to wait for the school bus every afternoon and he always knew what time it would arrive and always be there. The kids would call out to him and wave from the bus, everyone loved him. My grand daughter is a brave little girl, braver than me, Ulriich died on her birthday this year and unbelievably her dad died on her 5th birthday 3yrs ago, but she has this amazing ability to cope, as kids often do better than us adults.

Hi Madi
Thanks for those kind words. Yes my girls were very beautiful. Sammies are known as the smiling dogs and they always got admiring looks and comments wherever we took them. Lovely friendly nature too, just love being with people. My grandchildren loved them so much and miss them. Little granddaughter only knew Noushka as she is only 20 months old, but 5 year old grandson knew Tasha as well. He tells me that they are both fine and playing together in heaven, bless him. As you say children are very resilient and its amazing how they can cope so well. We have to try and be strong for their sakes.
I hope that you are having a better day today. Keep thinking of those happy times with Ulriich. He sounds to have been such a character.
Keep in touch.
Love Jan xx

Oh no.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
I perfectly understand what you mean about depression getting bad then worse then better and so on. It's been two years since my loss. At first, I was treated for physical shock which is different from emotional shock. The only other time in my entire life that I'd gone into physical shock was when the September 11 attacks were happening. Days then months passed after my loss. I was inconsolable and that is a great understatement. The daily, incredibly loud wounded, tortured primate or canine screaming and crying hysterically. Oy.
I'm much better now, but I'll ever get over losing Alex. It's different from all the other beloved pets I've lost over these many years. And I truly loved them with all my being. Heck, I grieved a surprisingly short time for my late husband Kenny and he was the most wonderful man to ever walk the planet. Word. He's not just a difficult act to follow. He's an impossible act to follow. Still, I grieved for a while, then after that and to this day, I have only the fondest memories one can imagine. How blessed I am for that. But, when it comes to Alex, those fond memories or any memories at all only serve as hurtful reminders. I hope I explained that well and know that others go through the very same as myself and you, too.

Thanks for the kind words Angel. I too have lost lots of dearly loved and beautiful pets over the years, but Ulriich was different and I can't explain it. I simply adored him, he was my life. I think also the fact that my son wanted to take Ulriich interstate with him, but reluctantly left him with us at the last minute because he loved his home and he thought he would be safer here, devastated me even more. The worse thing I have ever had to do is tell my son, I really let him down and although he never blamed me I hated seeing him so upset. I have lost many, too many, family members over recent years, including my beautiful young son in law, but when I had Ulriich to come home to I always coped. It's the first time I have had to take medication to cope with a loss. I just want to turn him upside down and cuddly him one more time and I can't.
I am so sorry for your loss of Alex, I really can, as most people on this forum can, empathise with you. This forum truly saved my life!!

Hi, Madi. I'm going type this out as though we're having a conversation since that's easier for me. I always express myself so much better when using photos, images, songs and the like. So, I'll copy your post above, break it down and reply to each thought. Here goes ...
Madi: Thanks for the kind words Angel.
Me: You're most welcome, madi. I only wish I could offer you more comfort and give you more answers as to the why you're taking this loss so much harder than your past losses. And, I'm going to do my very best to help you understand the why as well as how you can begin to forgive yourself and find that Healing Path.
Madi: I too have lost lots of dearly loved and beautiful pets over the years, but Ulriich was different and I can't explain it. I simply adored him, he was my life.
Me: There are many reasons that one particular fur kid leaves deeper foot prints in your heart, soul and life than the others you've loved so much. When that pet dies, your world is shattered! Many times, the manner in which your fur kid died makes it even far more devastating, unbearable and some people even react in what appears to be a bizarre manner. But, no. Their reactions and behaviors are normal. It's explained in a couple of the links I provided for you and if you wish me to post some short snippets, please let me know. Okay?
For now, I'll share a little about why losing Alex shattered my world since we have those "what ifs" and feelings of guilt in common. I'm going to locate a post I made some time ago and copy and paste it here. Yes, our circumstances are different, but it happened on my watch. I could have stopped it and none of this would have ever, ever happened. I failed my feather kid and the guilt is ... I have no words. Oh, I'll share those snippets later. So next ...
Madi: I think also the fact that my son wanted to take Ulriich interstate with him, but reluctantly left him with us at the last minute because he loved his home and he thought he would be safer here, devastated me even more.
Me: Madi, what I'm hearing are a couple things here. "If only Ulriich had gone on that trip, this would not have happened. He'd be alive and with me right now." That's what I'm hearing. No, I am not hearing you place any blame on your son. However, I am hearing you place blame on yourself. I am hearing that you feel somehow responsible because Ulriich didn't go with your son, you kept him home, he was out at night and you didn't find him in time as you did on that one other occasion. I hear you thinking if only Urrich had gone with your son, this would never have happened. Madi, these "ifs" will eat you up and spit you out. Those "what ifs" will make your life unbearable, and it appears to be doing just that. It's similar to survivor's guilt but not quite.
I hear you expressing a bunch of guilt, blaming yourself and feeling responsible for something of which you had absolutely no control. Madi, kitties love wandering around in the outback and will come home when it suits them. They're not like doggies in that regard. At least most kitties are very independent and do pretty much what they like, especially ones like Ulriich who are lavished with love, affection and cared for so much by you and your family. I'm certain this will come as no comfort to you, but Urrich's last moments were most likely blissful, playful, joy. He most likely didn't see what hit him and it was over in a nanosecond.
I am so sorry this is causing you so much pain and I weep with you. Truly I do. I've been there. I'm still there at many times, experiencing the same as yourself. I had every opportunity to stop what happened to Alex, Buddy dog and Styx kitty. There were so many red flags screaming in my face that it was going to happen. Excuse me. Tears. Sorry. Fact is that it happened on my watch and I could have stopped it.
Madi: The worse thing I have ever had to do is tell my son, I really let him down and although he never blamed me I hated seeing him so upset.
Me: You said: "The worse thing I have ever had to do is tell my son, I really let him down." There's the guilt again, but pertaining to your son. Still, it's regarding what happened to Ulriich.
Madi: I have lost many, too many, family members over recent years, including my beautiful young son in law, but when I had Ulriich to come home to I always coped.
Me: "There are certain circumstances which can intensify the grief. If a person has recently suffered other losses, feels responsible for the death, or has never fully grieved an earlier death, the grieving process is often more complex. (Note: This is possibly not applicable to you: If the pet died of a disease similar to one which the owner or a loved one currently has or has had in the past, the grief can also be compounded.)" Also, if you live alone or if a child has grown and left home. If you've become ill or disabled. If you see that this special fur kid somehow represents a lot of the child within yourself. And so much more, and so much more ...
Madi: It's the first time I have had to take medication to cope with a loss. I just want to turn him upside down and cuddly him one more time and I can't.
Me: Most of us wish upon wish upon wish that we could have just one last cuddle from a cherished loved one who has died, especially when it was most sudden and unexpected. We had no time to prepare ourselves as we do in those instances where we are aware that time is short which gives us the opportunity to say our farewells. Still, it doesn't make it any easier cuz dang!
Madi: I am so sorry for your loss of Alex, I really can, as most people on this forum can, empathize with you. This forum truly saved my life!!!
Me: Thank you so much, Madi. This forum saved my life, too. You bet! Here are some things I do that really help me a lot. The following is a copy and paste from another site ...
Help and healing
It has been shown that when grief can be expressed, the time needed for healing is often less. Similarly, if the expression of grief is restricted or withheld, the healing process may take much longer.
In addition to talking with others, to do something often helps us work through our grief. By doing something positive during this time of sadness, we expand our focus by celebrating the life of the pet. Activities which may help include:
Planting flowers or a tree in memory of the pet
Making a charitable donation
Holding a funeral or memorial service
Drawing a picture, making a clay sculpture or doing needlework of something that reminds you of your pet (you could do this yourself, or have it done by a professional)
Placing your pet's nametag on your keyring
Writing a poem, song, or story
Composing music or a song
Creating a memorial photo album or scrap book
Writing a letter to your pet
Framing a photograph
Volunteering your time
Me talking again, Madi. I find that writing poems, songs, creating images on my computer help a lot. Also, I did create a memorial Website a couple months ago or so for Alex. It was free so heck yeah! I also come here (and to Alex's Website) and make posts where I'm speaking with him. In my heart of hearts I know that he hears me, too. I'm not just saying that. My word to you. What seems to help me most of all is to do my best to help others who are going through what we are. Do you have any photos of Ulriich that you could share? If so, I would be honored to enhance it as I've done for so many here at Lighting Strike. People take great comfort seeing their beloved Rainbow Bridge Fur Kids transformed into Angels with gold, glittering wings and halos as well as other pretties. Just think on it and take your time to let me know.
I pray I've been of some small help and we can continue talking until we're blue in the face. You bet. Everyone at LS is here for you, Dear One. You are a Wonderful Fur Kid Mommy!!! Please never forget that. Okay? Okay.
Many Comforting Hugs and Love!

Always,
Dottie xoxoxox

Thanks Angel, i buried Ulriich in one of the lovely spots where we all used to sit and play together and my husband planted a small tree on his grave. My dogs and cats live so well together, it's unbelievable really how well they get on. I still can't bear looking at Ulriich's photos though, I did for a while, but now I'm a bit upset when I look at them, that's why I don't have a photo on the forum yet, but I suppose that will happen one day. Thanks again for all the information, I think I do have a guilt issue adding to the loss.
Can you please tell me what happened to Alex?

Oh Madi, how wonderful that you laid Ulriich to rest where he would love so much to be. Simply lovely. You do know that the small tree your husband planted on his grave now possesses "properties" of your Fur Kid in a special way, don't you. If you wish me to explain, I'll be glad to, but the fact is that Ulriich's essence lives on in that tree. Isn't that something? You bet!
As far as not being able to look at Ulriich's pictures yet, it makes sense because, at this point in your time of grieving, those photos may serve as hurtful reminders that you can't reach out to pet him, play with him, watch him frolic as you did when he was on this earthly plane.
It takes a whole lot of time for many people to even go places, do things and even eat foods they shared with their fur kids. Why is that? Again, all those things serve as hurtful reminders that he's not there now. Take all the time in the world, but I do assure you that eventually you'll have only the fondest of loving, funny, cute and caring memories.
Baby steps, madi. Take tiny baby steps and allow yourself to feel and express what you are feeling. The more you do that, the faster you'll surprise yourself by having so many happy moments reminiscing about your fur kid. In your memories, there is solace, Dear One.
Madi, I'm not sure you're up to hearing what happened to Alex. Not a good idea at this point in time. Perhaps later. Okay? So, please do not read any of my thread in the Pet Loss Support forum. Promise me that. I'm trusting you. However, all my posts to Alex in the Tribute forum are lovely. So, sneak a peek when you feel up to some awesome images, poems, videos and more. Sort of like a virtual vacation.
Please stay in touch when you're up to it. I do feel quite concerned about you, Madi. Okay? Thanks! I'll keep the roses fresh, fragrant, and the candle burning brightly within a beautiful heart for you and your precious Angel Fur Kid Ulriich.

Always,
Dottie xoxoxox

Hi
Love Molly the Cat. The videos are awesome, haven't watched them all yet , I have to admit.
Dottie, the little dog with the monkey is a pomeranium, they are like miniature samoyeds, much, much smaller.
I watched a lovely video of huskies and polar bears< i don't know if you've seen it. I have a pic a good friend sent me that you might like. Think it is the Husky that is chained by the way. I will try and upload it .

Jan, you took the words right out of my mouth, "awesome" I have watched about half now, well up to the miniature pomeraniums anyway and as soon as I saw them, I thought, "I bet Jan loves this one". I love the photo of the polar bear and the husky, amazing stuff, polar bears are known for being extremely vicious. Thanks Dottie, you make me smile and thanks for that. I have sent a photo of Ulriich, hope you get it so you and Jan get to see him.

Hi Jan! I love the photo of the doggie and polar bear hugging so much! Madi is right about polar bears usually being vicious. But, not with that doggie. Great bear hug. Awww! Oh, it's a Pomeranian caring for and carrying the monkey on its underside. I knew that was too small to be a Samoyed. So sweet, though. Awww! I have tons more to send ...
Hi Madi! I'm so pleased that you and Jan are enjoying the videos and they made you smile. I got your emailed photo of Ulriich and sent you two separate responses. Please read them both, especially since I have questions for you in the second or "PS" email. Okay? Okay.

"Hey, Mommy! Look for me at 1 minute and 40 seconds in the video!"
"Ready to Fly"
I've been trying to open the door,
To the secret of my destiny.
And every new road I think is the one,
Seems to lead right back to me.
I've looked for a way to be wiser,
A way to be strong.
Now I see the answer was hiding ...
In me all along.
And I'm ready to Fly,
Over the Sun,
Like a rocket to Heaven!
And I'm ready to Soar!
Right through the Sky!
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high!
I've always had wings,
But I wasn't ready to Fly.
Restless, hopeless, and misunderstood,
Like so many others I know.
So busy tryin' to keep holdin' on,
When I should've been letting go.
I was given the Gift to find it,
The Spirit inside me,
But I never really imagined ..
All I could be.
And I'm ready to Fly,
Over the Sun,
Like a rocket to Heaven!
And I'm ready to Soar!
Right through the Sky!
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high!
I've always had wings,
But I wasn't ready to Fly.
The answer to all of my Wonder,
Was right in my hands.
Now it's time for me to discover,
All that I am!
And I'm ready to Fly,
Over the Sun,
Like a rocket to Heaven!
And I'm ready to Soar!
Right through the Sky!
Never dreamed I'd find something to lift me so high!
I've always had wings,
But I wasn't ready to Fly.
I've always had wings.
Now I'm finally ready to Fly.

Dottie you are an angel, there is not doubt about that, I love what you've done with Ulriich's photo and you didn't have much to go on, it was such a small photo. My son said that I have to put my photos on a web page and then upload them form there. Don't know if I can fathom out how to do that, I may have to wait until he comes home for Christmas. Poor boy, (man) he'll only be here for 3 days and everytime anyone sees him they bombard him with their computer probelms.
Glad you like the videos too Jan, I'm still laughing, I'm showing everyone.

LoL Dottie, sister Mary catnip made me laugh, what a cute little catholic kitty. Not to mention the most reverent Mr squirrel. I'm glad you love Ulriich too Jan, he was a very cuddly cat, you could just pick him up and turn him upside down and he would stay there. If you walked past where he was laying, he would always roll over as you passed. Gee you miss these little things don't you? When I master this blessed computer image transfering businesss, I will post one of him upside down by the heater all spread out. I'm doing ok thanks to you guys, hope you are too Jan and Dotti. If I had one single wish in this world, I would wish for us to all have our darlings back, our world would be perfect then.

Hi, Madi. So glad you liked the funny pictures.
Awww! Your precious Fur kid Angel Ulriich sounds so much in personality like my Styx kitty. The only part I didn't like is when he kept throwing himself on the floor in front of me while I was walking, especially when going down the stairs. Errr ... Guess how I broke my left arm 3/6/2009? Yep, the dad burn cat had been trying to get rid of me for 12 years at that point in time and dang near succeeded! However, it was downstairs as I was hurrying to the bathroom. Well, after I could breathe again from the fall on my hard ceramic tile floor and knew my arm was broken, I looked up at Styx and calmly asked, "Well, are you happy now?" I think he was cuz he purred and tried to get all affectionate. Too bad he doesn't have opposable thumbs cuz I had to drag myself to the phone to call for some paramedics. True story and you can laugh cuz I sure am. LOL!
Oh, that would be my wish too, Madi. My only wish. Hugs!!!
Say, I brought you a few more videos but make sure you don't play them in the wee hours of the morning or you may laugh so hard that you'll wake up the neighborhood. That would be some feat for you to accomplish since you live on a farm. However, a few of these are just that funny! Mmmmkay. You've been warned so on with the show.
The first one is a cat solving a printer problem and the subtitles are hilarious!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kvBiSW5QFKYThis second one is my very favorite talking cat video.
You may think it's fake, but I assure you it isn't. Amazing!!! Just watch the cat's mouth form the sentences.
The next video is the cat talking without captions ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=964uCtgsDoEJust in case you couldn't make out all the cat is saying, this is the same cat saying the same sentences and is captioned. I don't know about you, but I'm blown away! Word. You'll get a better view to watch its mouth, too. Yep. This cat is forming meaningful sentences and it's not fake. Here you go ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LBKVXyrHcwHere's my favorite "I Want My Mama" dog. Adorable and funny as heck ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cx1We6GX4IMNext is my favorite "I Love You" dog. Great pronunciation. Wow ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NjpJib3dct0Now, if you really want some intelligent conversation, you'll have to meet Einstein the famous African Grey parrot. Awesome!!!

Let's find out.

I love the all the kitty pics, they are so funny, they really do make me smile. At last I can smile again, so thanks for that Dottie. I am watching the videos, seen about half, they are so good.
Yes it's funny how our animals love to be upside down. Noushka used to lie on her back with her legs sticking right up , she looked hilarious. I will see if I can find a photo, and then try and upload it for you to see.

Hi Madi and Jan. Here's a little something different. Not animals, but still hilarious. Let me set this up a bit. Clint has been a dear online friend for a really long time. He's got a terrific sense of humor and we've pulled stuff like this on each other for several years. He loves it and so do I. Here's a post that I made some time ago on a message board called The Catbird Seat owned by my very dear friend Debbie whom I've talked about many times here. By the way, Clint is still happily married and has been for many, many years. Now on with the post I made at The Catbird Seat ...
Subject title that I gave the post: "Clint's Wedding, Reception, and Ultimate Divorce"
(And on with the funny post ...)
Wow, what a saga. I'm gonna use links instead of embedding several videos so it won't slow down this thread's speed.
First of all, Clint and his bride to be had a very solemn and respectful wedding ceremony.
Here's a video of them and their wedding party going down the aisle in step to a very heart rendering melody as they approached the holy alter to make their vows.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-94JhLEiN0 Ahhh, so tender and dear. Dontcha think? Awww!
'Cept perhaps your grooms and bridesmaids coulda removed their sun glasses. Hey, it was ...
Well, I'm all choked up. I always cry at weddings. Beautiful!
But, then it went bad. Poor Clint goofed up a little while making his vows. And here it is.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clw7SAJs_6w It's all right, Clint. She loves waffley and pancakey things.
By the way, how long did it take before she stopped laughing so hard during the ceremony?
You can fill me in later. *Thumbs Up*
Moving on to their reception. Both Clint and his new bride wanted their first dance as husband and wife to be something special and meaningful so they chose to put together a CD of several wedding song favorites.
And here they are.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4OzHWvVyb8 How very romantic! You both done great, Clint.
I don't know about anyone else but I've got more tears in my eyes.
Major Sniffle!
Then, their reception continued with a traditional toast made by friends performing an old, customary,
folk dance from their home land. How nice of them!
Here you go.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YT6InvLJUzA That was very unique indeed! Wonderful and thank you for sharing!
However, sometimes things just don't work out. Sadly, that's the case with Clint and his wife. I'm so sorry.
Well, we have their divorce proceeding on film.
Please don't be upset about that. Okay? Here it is ...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbr2ao86ww0 At least you two and your attorneys behaved in a civil manner.
*Giggle!*
Hope you enjoyed. Hugs!!!
And that's the end of the post. Clint loved it. LOL. Hope you enjoyed.
Take care and will talk atcha later. Many Hugs to you both and your Angel Fur Kids!!!

It's good to cry with laughter for a change isn't it Jan, didn't think that would happen a few months ago did we? It's great when husbands take an interest in the forum with us too. I am showing my husband lots of posts and photos and he thinks Noushka and Tasha are beautiful looking dogs, and like me marvels at how you kept them so clean. If you lived on our farm with all the cow poo, you would understand exactly where I are coming from. Rob, that's my husband, was particularly upset with Dottie's story, can't believe how anyone could do such a thing, pure evil he says. Dottie could be a professional councillor.

Hi Madi, Jan and all. Jan, I'm so glad you enjoyed the funny post I cooked up for Clint. You should see the last one I did. It got lots and lots of attention. LOL. Madi, I too am amazed at how clean Noushka and Tasha are in all the photos Jan has posted. Amazing! And such awesome beautiful doggies. Awww! I just want to reach in, pet their fur and cuddle with them.
Yep, I have seen the face of pure evil and this is the only time in my life I've ever said that. True. I said it pretty much from the beginning of the continuing saga of Alex parrot, what was done to all my fur and feather kids and what was done to my home and myself as well. It reminds me of the scene in the first "Alien" movie (1979) with Sigourney Weaver. Remember the part when the little orphaned girl asked her, "There really are such things as monsters, aren't there?" Ripley replied, "Yes, there are."
As for your statement that I should be a professional counselor? I was just that for close to 3 of the 27 plus years when serving as a nurse in the human medical field. Did pretty good at it, too.

Gosh, I really do miss the days when I was able to work actively as a nurse and in Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. Didn't sleep much but really didn't need the sleep. So gratifying!
Big Hugs to you and all your Angel Fur Babies!!!

Well Dottie, we had similar professions, I was a mother craft nurse, babies and animals nothing like them, as Michael Jackson said, " it's like looking onto the face of God" I buy a lot of things from ebay and I hate it when people specify that their items come from a "pet free home" like it's some great selling point. Well it's not for me, I just think well "I don't like you" One item for sale stated that it came from a "pet free and "child free" home and I thought that was classic. What sort of people are they??

Hi Madi, Dottie and all
'Pet free' and 'Child Free' certainly not for 'me' then. Those people haven't lived in my opinion!
I wasn't a nurse but when my children were both at school I worked in a nursery school looking after 2- 5 year olds. I did that for about 10 years and loved it. Love babies, children and of course all animals. Can't get enough of them !
It's the first time in almost 20 years that there are no pets in our house. I'm sure, hopefully we will have the patter of furry paws again soon. Just got to sort out my head and get the timing right for a new furry or feathery baby.
We have 2 grandchildren, A boy 5 and a little girl of 20 months. Our daughter is expecting another baby in early February so we are looking forward to that . Saw a 4d scan the other day of the new baby, amazing and very exciting.
I agree with you Madi , Dottie is a brilliant counsellor. Knows exactly what to say to bring comfort and hope.
Yes aren't the kitty and budgie pics gorgeous. I had them sent through the other day from an old friend on here ,and I thought , I know who would love to see those.
My darling girls would probably have loved to roll around in all that cow poop, Madi, and yes then it might have been a challenge to get them 'white' again. Ha but as I said in posting, let the muck dry and then it used to just fall off their coats withn a bit of brushing. Not too good for my carpets, but who cared, certainly not me, just needed a bloomin good vacuum . What I would give to have their muddy paw prints and all that lovely sammi hair around again. Aww sigh .... Miss 'em so.
As a child growing up in Yorkshire I spent a lot of time on farms up in the Yorkshire Dales. I loved it, I do envy you living on a farm with all your animals.
We now live in the South of England , about 20 miles from London, on the outskirts of suburbia, but we have a beautiful country park , just minutes walk away. Thats where we spent most of our time walking our darling doggie friends.
I'm so happy that you all love my darling girl dogs, They sure are cuddly doggies, Sammies, extremely friendly breed who love everyone. Just love to be in human company........ ooh the Samoyed Championship Show is being held this Sunday in the midlands, and I'm wondering if I'm up to seeing hundeds of Sammies being shown, all groomed up to the nines and looking so pretty. Not sure if I would be able to handle it as will just make me want my darlings again. Maybe not quite ready, what do you think? My Tasha didn't like the 'showing' and I must admit I hate it when these judges criticise what I think are all such beautiful dogs, but I just love to see all the dogs who so obviously love being 'shown' Most Sammies seem to love it. We rescued Noushka as she was taken into our local rescue centre having been abandoned, so we never had any papers for her. They're both winners to us. By the way did you see the photo I posted of our black Lab cross Sooty, he was a real cutey, and such a lovely gentle giant .
Hope you (and all other friends reading this of course) are ok and Dottie, how is Styx Kitty? Sending loving and soothing thoughts to him .
LOve and hugs

Cool as Dottie, they were hilarious. I could just see my son having a reception like the thriller wedding reception, it would be right up his alley. He's a bit of a zombie freak, I would like a dollar for every zombie movie he has made me sit through. I particularly liked the last part, "the divorce" I thought the court room guards were really funny, my kind of humour for sure.

I can't see the photo of Sooty anywhere Jan, I can't see it on this thread or your Noushka, Tasha one. I use to have a horse called Sooty, right little beggar he was, bucked me off more times than not when I rode him. He was jet black of course, like I suspect your Sooty was. Hey your grand daughter is the same age as one of mine, she was born on 16th April 2008, their birthdays must be pretty close I reckon. I have a grandson 13, his sister is 9 and my other daughter has two little girls aged 4 and the 20 month old one. How lovely that your daughter is going to have another beautiful baby soon and aren't those scans amazing, I have all my grandchildren's scans. I have my son's scan as well, didn't have any of the girls because they are older and we didn't have them back then. As soon as I saw my son's scan I knew he was a boy, he had a boy's head and it looked massive, made me real nervous thinking about giving birth to that head.
Now Jan, I must say there would be no way you could just brush off cow poo, your dogs would have spent their entire lives in my laundry sink if they had lived here. My little short haired foxie rolls in it non stop and I have to either bath her or wipe her over every day. You get the smell first, then you see this awful green slimey mess down her side, she's disgusting. Far worse than the kelpies.
Do you think you might end up going to the dog show? What does your husband think about going? I don't know how you feel, but I loved seeing other cats that looked like Ulriich, even when I still couldn't look at his photos. Where my son lives in melbourne, there is a neighbour's cat that is the spitting image of Ulriich and every time I visit my son I look for him. His nature is identical too, everyone in the neighbourhood pats and pets him just like people used to do with my baby. Last time I visited I didn't see him and I was so disappointed. My son said he hadn't seen him for a while and we feared the people may have moved or something had happened to the cat, but about a week ago my son rang and said he saw the cat again and we sighed with relief. I will be waiting to see if you do go to sammie show or not. I think I know the answer already. Have to go it's 12.30am here and I have to get up early.

Hi Madi
My pic of Sooty is on Brutus' thread. It came out ever so big. Don't know what happened there.
Still not sure about the Samoyed show, I would love to see them, but Dave, Husband thinks it might be too much for me at the moment so still not sure. I will keep you posted.
My little grandaughters birthday is 2nd April 2008, so yes a similar age to yours. I've been round looking after her this afternoon, she is so cute, bless her. She's only just started walking, but she's all over the place now., feel quite exhausted , ha, just what I needed to keep me busy today.
Yes maybe the cow poo would be very challenging with sammies coats. They weren't too bad for rolling in poo, mind you not many cows around here come to think of it, just a few deer and of course horses. My mums little westie used to be the one for that, she used to love it and what a job to clean her up.
Hope you manage to find our Sooty on Sonyas thread for Brutus. Bless, he reminds me of Soot, although Soot had some GSD in him, but looked more like a lab.
Must dash , poor hubby starving and no idea what we're eating yet. oops.

Hi Madi and Jan. Boy, do I have a lot of catching up to do here. Madi, it's so wonderful that you served as a mother craft nurse for babies and animals alike. We've got a lot in common there. As for those who advertise on Ebay as coming from a "pet free" and "pet and child free" home ... You asked what kind of people are they? Well, I suppose it's a great selling point not to have pet fur or baby dribble on anything they're selling. As for me? I'd rather buy the pet fur and baby drool other than any other items they have for sale and any day of the week. Dang Skippy!
So glad you two loved the wedding videos. Hey, I love that Thriller reception, too. Kudos to your son, Madi. LOL.
Jan, I don't think I saw the photo of Sooty either. I'll find it on Brutus' thread. Thanks!

Hi Madi, Jan and everyone. Hey Madi, shame on you! You ought to know better since you served as a mother craft nurse for babies and animals. Those tiny tots are very impressionable even before they're able to walk. What kind of a bad influence does that make you to have exposed this small infant to MTV stuff like this? I think I might just report you.

Really though, this video proves that one is never too young to get down and get it on boogying while watching and listening to Beyonce performing. Say, I wonder if that baby is a girl or boy? Dances just like a Radio City Hall Rockette. LOL! Make sure to watch to the very end and I'm sorry for teasing you like that, Madi. I'm just so accustomed to pulling this kind of joke on Clint.
