Yesterday Jasper was sitting in my lap and I found a lump in the middle of his thigh. It's about an inch wide. We rushed him to the vet this morning. Dr. Cody wants us to watch it for 10 days and bring him back in. If it is still there he is going to run a biopsy on it. I'm trying not to panic and luckily with all the records we have from his Foster Mom, our vet will be able to talk to the vet that did the vaccinations though our vet doesn't think it was caused by a shot. I called them today and they do remember Jasper. It's pretty deep into his thigh and if I wasn't deliberatly looking for lumps, I probably wouldn't have noticed it.

I am not ready to go back to the grief side of this board. Please keep our little guy in your prayers.

My prayers and thoughts are with you and Jasper Michelle. I know it's hard not to worry when a discovery like this is made. In May my Gidget had a tumor removed from her face. When I first found the lump last summer the vet told me to watch it for any change. It stayed the same until May of this year. Suddenly it took on a larger and different shape and had grown into her lymphnode. My very first thought was, "Oh Lord......NOT AGAIN!!!???" Thankfully it was benign and I was spared in having to face another deep sadness so soon after my Goliath had passed away.

May God answer your prayers and keep Jasper well, happy, and in your arms for many years to come. wub.gif

Hugs,
Beth

I hope that everything works out well for Jasper. Sometimes a lump is just a bit of damaged tissue. I found a lump on Sebastian's tail and frantically took him to the vet. I was told to watch it. I have been watching it now for 5 years and it has not changed in size. Sebastian is 10 now and doing great. Keep watch on it and if it increases in size take Jasper back to the vet immediately. Otherwise it may be nothing to worry about. Good luck and keep us posted on how things are going.

The lump has doubled in size since yesterday. We are waiting for the vet to open in the next 20 minutes. When I was 10 I had a cist that did the same thing. They removed it, then did a biopsy. Buck is running Jasper to the vet this morning when they open and suggesting just removing it, then doing a biopsy. Other than the lump, he's fine. Running, playing, purring, eating, drinking.

Frankee is going with Jasper. I just can't believe the bond between these two. Frankee loves our vet and will keep Jasper calm. We're doing this more for Frankee though since he will be searching the house for his little buddy.

If it doubled that quickly it implies it is not C...... Even Mile's "Lump" took a long time to cause trouble. - Which is one of the reasons I kicked myself for not jumping on it sooner..but even at the end, the growth was NOTHING like that. At All.

Let us know, huh?

We took Jasper back to the vet. Also since yesterday Jasper has started sneezing and coughing about 4 times a day. So Dr. Cody did diagnose a respitory infection in it's early stages and put the little guy on antibiotics. He said by Wednesday it should be cleared up then he will remove the lump. He made it clear that he would not operate until the infection is cleared up which makes sense. A change of households on a kitten can upset the balance I guess. New germs, kitties, etc.

Other than the occasional cough/sneeze and lump, you wouldn't know anything is wrong with Jasper. He's full of energy and purring. I'm trying to stay positive but the occasional scarry thought keeps creeping in.

We can't lose Jasper. I've explained to him that the elderly ladies are finally happy, Frankee is ecstatic, Mommy loves her precious cuddle bunny which in turn makes Daddy very happy. For the first time in 2 years there is a part of our family that has healed over night. No one will ever replace Nickels, but Jasper is filling his quite large shoes like no one else could.

Thanks for what you said Jon. I'm tending to agree with you. I've had my share of cists and they grow at an amazing rate. When I was 10 I had one removed 3 times from the inside of my lip and it was benign.

After this, I'm thinking of following holistic guidlines. Since our cats are only indoors, I don't want to vaccinate Jasper. My gut feeling makes me think this lump started as an irritant from the needle. I still have to think things over but I don't want Jasper to go through this again if there is even the slightest chance that's how it started. It's tearing me up that this sweet miracle has to have surgery so young. I'm just thanking God that we trust our vet. I'm praying to God that this will be over soon and to leave Jasper with us healthy and sound.

I noticed that vets do not usually sterilize the injection site like is done with furless human patients. At a guess, some dermal bacteria was taken into the muscle and it is an encapsulated infection that may not show on a Leukocyte count. Just a quick guess from experience. Being localized, he feels fine, but it has to come out to be identified. Good luck.

Disclaimer: I am not a Vet. I am a burned-out Materials Scientist who worked in the healthcare industry, and now, being retired, I am nothing. And I like being nothing but Iggy's employee. The pay is not great unless you count him leaving his catnip mouse on my pillow.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement Jon. They make the wait easier. By the way, I love your disclaimer! I enjoy reading your posts. I march to the beat of your drummer humor wise! You have such a wonderful sense of humor and I so look forward to the adventures of Iggy.

Right now Jasper and Frankee are doing something up in their room. Almost sounded like they were putting our shoes on and walking around, (front paws on hips) "Look at me! I'm Mommy!" Who knows what they're up to but we are down here laughing coming up with scenarios. As long as Jasper is acting like a normal kitten I feel a sense of hope. He has added so much to our little household and I don't even want to think of life without him.

We had to go to the mall tonite, (I must be the only woman alive that doesn't like the mall), and Buck ate bourbon chicken at the food court. He saved some and I cut it up into kitty bites when we got home. Little Jasper went nuts! I think the only thing he was fed before was Science Diet kibble. Well we've successfully put an end to that. He was a little thin for my liking and he has gained some weight this week. We do eat well at Casa La Reed.

I don't know what just happened but Jasper just ran downstairs and jumped on the couch. Frankee called to him from the top of the stairs, then Jasper ran back up. Since we don't have carpet upstairs you can hear every step. Lots of running and jumping. Ah Oh. Something just fell then complete silence! Better go check it out. They are such characters!!

Thank you Beth and Ken for your words of encouragement. I couldn't get through this without all the wonderful people on this board. I'm so thrilled that Gidgets tumor was benign. These situations shave years off our lives I swear.

Think positive, Michelle. I too liked what Jon said about the quickness of the lump. Benign is the ticket. I have special thoughts and prayers for Jasper. I am sure he will be okay. It is tough to go through this but I bet he bounces back quickly.

I love that he and Frankee are so bonded...it is wonderful when our special ones get along with each other. That was funny when you mentioned about both of them wanting to be in the same carrier. What loves!

Keep us updated. Did the vet isolate him for the respiratory? IF so, he and Frankee will miss each other soooo much.

Something guided you to find that and take care of it quickly. I really believe Jasper will be just fine. Such a sweetheart.

Kisses and hugs to both of your babies plus another special one for Jasper.

Hi Judy,
Thanks for your good thoughts and wonderful Prayers.

The vet felt that the respitory problem was caught at such an early stage that he didn't feel a need for them to be separated. I, personally, think it could be allergies. I'm going to tear this house apart next week cleaning and install filters in all the air vents. When we started remodeling I wanted all the carpet removed. We installed marble downstairs and tile upstairs. Since we have 4 cats I felt this would be the most sanitary and easy to clean flooring. In the past 3 years, since we have had this done, we have not seen one flea. The elderly ladies used to get sick a couple of times a week and this also helped with those germs. When I switched them over to Dick Van Pattens Natural Balance cat food they only get sick once every couple of months. I can pretty much open the front door and hose the place out if I really wanted to LOL.

So I'm going to attack the house next week from an allergy point of view and keep him on the antibiotics. I also want to get confirmation of the proper amount of benedryl to see if that helps. Wednesday, hopefully, we will have this tumor removed and have a biopsy done. I love this little guy so very much and will get to the bottom of the problems. By the way, the lump is a little larger today and harder. It has moved to the surface of his skin, much as mine did. I still tend to think it's a cyst from my own personal experience. I still get cysts but they are different in women than kitties but are not fatal in both thank God.

I'll keep you updated. The updates also help me to keep things in writing for the record. Thanks Judy.

Michelle:

I'm glad the kitties don't have to be apart due to the respiratory problem. I understand what you mean about carpeting. It just inhales every bit of dust and whatnot in the air. I found I have very glad with the 3 kitties we had...that when we moved here..we took out the drapes and installed vertical blinds. The cats couldn't climb them and they are a lot easier to keep clean than heavy draperies. I would like to tile our floor and throw away the carpeting...it's a wonder we all don't sneeze more.

About fleas...I was so glad to hear they don't exist here in the desert. They sure exist in California. Also I really never see flies but had a major summer problem with them in California. They swarmed inside my front screen door between the screen and the door...dozens of them...no where else but I hated that. Here once in a while we have to watch out for ants.
I liked to joke that the flies have to stop at the Cal-Neva border...not allowed in this State rolleyes.gif

Joanne (jackjackbojack) here (her thread is Rassy Cat in D&D) has been dealing with allergies and has found some good ideas about food and things. You might check out her thread for ideas.

Kisses to that sweet boy, Jasper (I'm sorry he has that darn lump) but it will be out soon and I expect to hear very positive news about it all.

Hugs to you and Frankee too and your other furbabies.

Jasper has 5 more anitbiotic pills to go (2 a day). At 5:00 a.m. this morning I was woken up by him DEMANDING a love session. He was pushing his head into my hair and kissing my eyelids, ouch! Purr, Purr, Purr. I made the mistake of sitting up and he stole my pillow staring at me with such love in his eyes. Hubby was up so I came downstairs. Jasper has been running at 100 mph around the house for 3 hours. The lump is bigger today, but Jasper looks better. His watery eye looks a lot better. He is still sneezing but not as much. He does appear to be on the mend.

Gillian, a year ago exactly, I was taking care of my 88 year old Mom in her home. I walked outside to the back patio to enjoy the morning sun and my coffee. A pack of 7 King Charles Cavaliers appeared in our neighbors backyard. I thought I was seeing things, these were the cutest dogs I've ever seen. And a PACK of them?! I quickly rounded them up (quite a feat) and asked Mom who they belonged to. I found the owner and we have been good friends every since. Evidently these little dogs can be great little escape artists! They are a wonderful breed and Ronnie, the owner, would lend them out to me for my Mom before she went into the nursing home. They are precious little dogs and will jump onto my Moms lap and sit for hours. Moms smile says it all.

Well, we're not out of the woods yet with Jasper, but, I thank God he is feeling better. Thank you to all that have been praying for him. By the way, I think we're nearing the count of 5000 kisses on him. He's the only one that doesn't get in any type of trouble. The other cats look at him when he is on the counter and are confused when we pick him up and kiss him on the head. They only see the pointy part of the spray bottle! I'll keep everyone informed on his progress.

Oh absolutely. My Jack Russell is a very loyal dog who would never leave our yard even if the gate is opened and he is unsupervised. As he has proven a few times when my fiancé accidently left the side gate opened. But my CKCS Nieko will just wander off and I'll get a call from a concerned person who has spotted him and knows he shouldn't be out on his own, and used his ID tag to contact me. Thank God there are such people in the world. Bono wandered off a few times too. They aren't running away, only can't resist disappearing off to goodness knows where. They have very little sense! Which is why it was worrying the 2 times Nieko has disappeared, he has no road sense and will just dander across a busy road thinking cars will stop for him, and he'll run up to big scary looking dogs who are growling at him, wagging his tail thinking everyone wants to be his friend. Bono was exactly the same. But I do love them. It's impossible to be cross with them when they wander off. The big brown eyes are to die for.

Good to hear Jasper is feeling better and is on the mend. smile.gif

Jasper has grown overnight. Evidently he will be the long legged breed of Siamese. He was so funny this morning. He darted under a chair when he was running around with Frankee. His head bumped the bars on the chair twice. I can't believe how long his legs are getting! He is as tall as frankee at only 14 weeks. Frankee is a year old but his growth was stunted by the disease he had when we found him. He tends to ocassionally get a bit rough with Jasper and we keep having to remind him that Jasper is a baby. When I scold Frankee, his feelings get very hurt. We keep an eye on both of them when they play, and Frankee is such a good boy, that when we tell him he has to calm down playing, he immediatly does. I love my boys! Frankee has passed the one billion mark of kisses and is repulsed by each one. He still lays on the desk though and tolerates each one.

Does anyone else have a kitty that "flips you off" with a shake of the paw when they are upset with you?

No, I don't have that but sometimes when I tell Lucky to do something, he actually
shakes his head back and forth "No". My husband hasn't seen it and says he doesn't believe it
but there are times I will order Lucky to back up or go eat or whatever and just like a person...he gives a fast shake back and forth quickly 2 or 3 times.

Hi Eva,

Jasper has one more pill to take then we will visit the vet tomorrow. I didn't realize how lethargic he was when we got him. His respritory infection has cleared up well. He is now jumping all over Frankee and running about 100 mph through the house. He gets quite agressive with Frankee putting him in headlocks but Frankee is pretty gentle with him. Their bond is amazing.

The lump is getting quite large and appears to be making it to the top of his skin. It's kind of on the top of the thigh muscle. When he sits you can see it bulge out. It's not painful for him so that's a relief. It has all the signs of being benign from my experience. Jasper just appears to be a happy healthy kitten despite the growth. I'm keeping good thoughts that all will go well.

I see that we've been moved to the Pet Sickness side of the board which is fine. But come next week we should be back to New Beginnings!

Thanks so much for your concern Eva. I'll keep you updated.

Jasper went to the vet this morning. Dr. Cody was pleased how to see how playful and alert he was. Jasper acts like nothings wrong. Doc didn't have to look for the lump this time, it was pretty obvious where it is. So, we have set up surgery for Monday morning sad.gif and we will be able to pick him up on Monday evening. Then he will do a biopsy.

Please keep the little guy in your thoughts and prayers. I'm still trying to think good thoughts.

Jasper certainly has my thoughts and prayers. Glad to hear he is so playful. Wonder if he will need a cone on his head? My Little Guy had a big lump removed from the top of his head which required stitches and he had to wear a cone until the stitches came out. That was fun......but we did it.

I feel Jasper will come through the surgery with flying colors. Please keep us updated.

Wonder if he will need a cone on his head?

I'm pretty sure he will. I'm going to ask when we take him in. They can get to their back thighs pretty easily. I'll also have to keep Frankee away from him since they clean each other.

About 20 years ago I had two tabbies, a boy and a girl. We had to have the cone on the little female after a corrective surgery for a botched spay job (how do you botch that?!). Anyway I took the cone off of her a couple of days later and put it on the male to see what he would do. She ran up the cat post and started attacking him. Shocked me! She was proud of that cone and would prance around the house in it. A real Kitty fashion statement! I never did that again.

After that I always thought I would like to decorate one. If we have to buy one I think I will. Match the blue in Jaspers eyes and add some rhinestones. Maybe dangle a little ball from the top of it. O.K, I promise I won't do that.

I'll keep everyone posted. I'm continuing to feel positive about this. He just bounced back so quick from his resritory problem and is acting like nothing is wrong.

Ask the vet if they have soft-cones. Instead of the rigid plastic, it's softer and more flexible, like plastic fabric. Works just as well, but tolerated better. If you do end up with a plastic one, make sure it's low enough that Jasper can see peripherally. When it's too long and the cat can't see sideways, it tends to panic them. Rohan's most recent one was a soft-collar, and it was SOOOO much nicer. Purr-hugs to you both, ~Kim

Thanks Kim. I didn't know they had soft cones. I will definately check into that. I remember a dog that I had that would panic because the cone was too long. I want to make this transition as easy as possible for Jasper. It just tears me up that he has to go through surgery. He is just the sweetest little boy and has touched our lives like I could never have imagined. It's almost like Nickels chose him for us. The closer to the surgery, I find myself tearing up every time I look at him. They truly are like our children.

Hi, Michelle

What you said above.....Been there...know exactly what you are feeling. Your last sentence I would answer....Amen to that.

My Little Guy had a plastic cone and he hates everything but somehow he knew he had to wear it. They did run a material rag through the loops and tied it loosely that way. I watched him like a hawk and one night he managed to rub it off but I woke up and put it right back on. We have small cereal bowls and when he wanted water or food from one of those he just put his head down and the cone circled and held the bowl in front of him and he ate. When done, he lifted his head and I cleaned any food stuff I saw but he managed 7 or 10 days very well. I was surprised cause he fights (used to fight) everything. I'm sure Jasper will do very well but a soft cone sounds like a good idea...I didn't know they had those either..(I still have the cone). This cone reminded me of one my dogs would have to wear when spayed so they could not reach their stitches to lick them.

Jasper is young and strong and I think he will do very well but that never stops a "mom" from worrying....it comes with the territory. No way around that one.

I have good thoughts for your boy...I know the operation will turn out okay and he will be just fine. I always had the vet keep mine one night..to be sure everything was waking up okay and when I picked up my babies the next day..they were at full strength and then just needed the days to really recover..at home.

I am sorry he has to go through any surgery...I hate that too. But sometimes it is necessary and we just have to "bite the bullet" and worry.

Hugs, prayers and good thoughts for you and Jasper.

Besides he also has an Angel named Nickels looking after him.....that's extra special
protection for that baby.

It's 5:00 a.m. Yesterday Jasper got sick twice, then two more times in the middle of the night. The tumor is getting larger and it feels like it is attached to the muscle. This will be so cruel if I lose him. I am so worried. I can't get back to sleep. I stayed up until 1:00 a.m. We cuddled and snuggled. We have bonded so much over the last month. I must be living right over the Burmuda Triangle of problems. For 3 hours I have torn my house up looking for my cell phone! Well I found it in the towel cupboard. Frankee got the sniffles from Jasper a few days ago and I forgot when I separated them, he wanted to be in the towel cupboard. I had set my phone in there one afternoon since it's right next to the guest bed where I took a nap.

I just called our Vet. Immediately after my Husband left him at the vet, the tumor was removed this morning. Jasper came through the surgery without a hitch and is resting and doing fine. Dr. Cody will be doing a biopsy on the growth and we should have the results by tomorrow.

My Husband said when he took Jasper to the vet this morning, that Jasper was not very happy. He opened his carrier and Jasper's eyes got big and black though he could not resist a chin rub. Then his ears went back. He really hated that thermometer put up his back end when he was there last week and evidently has not forgotten it. We decided that my Hubby should be the one to take Jasper to the vet since Jasper is so close to me. I'll look like the good guy this way. "Oh Jasper, what did Daddy do to you?!" LOL. "Mean old Daddy!"

Judy, I remember the plop of the cone around the cereal bowl! The first time I saw that I laughed, quietly. Since Dr. Cody was out when I called, the receptionist told me she didn't think Jasper needed a cone but my Husband will be sure to ask. Thank you for being there for us. Your postings are a Blessing and help calm my fears.

Thank you Jorge for your words of encouragement and Prayers. They mean more than you know.

As I was laying in bed last night, I was thinking about the game "Shutes and Ladders". Since most of us started out on the grief side of this board, it is wonderful to finally "climb the ladder" and post on New Beginnings. Then to slide over to Pet Sickness is a hard "slide". I begged God not to let us slide back the to grief side. I've lost 4 best friends over the past 2 years, Nickels and 3 human friends. Then with my Mom almost being killed by the nursing home she was in and the law suit we are in the middle of, I have no more grief that I can handle at the moment. Jasper has been my salvation. He's my constant companion and will cry and cry if he cannot find me. What's funny is that Frankee loves me but will not purr for me. He only purrs for my Husband and is basically his kitty. That doesn't stop me from cradeling him like a baby and kissing him. Geeze, he hates that, but I love him terribly anyway.

I will let everyone know how Jasper is doing and will also post when I find out the results of the biopsy.

Hugs to everyone!

Michelle

Jasper is home! What a long incision, about 3 inches. The tumor was wrapped around tendons in several places. I've had so many animals over my life from rats to horses that have had to have surgeries. This is the finest example of suturing and surgery that I've ever seen. You cannot see the stitches except for the end tie off even though the Dr. really made sure there was no trace of the tumor left. NO swelling and besides the blood stain, you cannot even tell where the sutures are. Jasper isn't even limping. I'm amazed! Jasper doesn't need to wear a cone, the Dr. said he would rather have Jasper clean the incision by himself. He goes in on the 25th to have the stitches removed.

Dr. Cody removed a very large tumor. The good news is that he feels it is benign. No blood flow to the growth. He feels someone was either sloppy immunizing him in the wrong place or it was a bite from one of his siblings and the bacteria was injected and this was Jaspers body's way of taking care of the bacteria. By the end of the week we will have the biopsy results back.

The first thing Jasper wanted to do was "wobble trot" to the food bowl. He ate a couple of bites then immediately wanted me to hold him. He could care less about the sterile towel and bed, even if I did put my hand on him, no, he HAS to be in my arms. More bonding. I think I am almost as tramatized as Jasper. Such a little guy going through such a big operation. My heart breaks for his pain.

Well, the worst is over. The biopsy is left. Since Dr. Cody has been a vet for 40+ years and pretty confident about the tumor he removed, I feel most of the weight lifted. A huge worry was, the anesthesia. Cats are so difficult to put under and that is where most of the danger lies in surgery. My baby is home, in my lap, and with a good report from his doctor. DR. CODY IS THE BEST!! Out of 35 years of personal vetrenarian experience, he is in the top 3. Unfortunately I can report about 10 vets that are the worst. If your are ever in Tulsa and need a vet, Dr. Cody would be my ultimate top recommendation!! Very humble, no frills, and someone that loves his patients. He's saved our Frankee, now Jasper. What a kind soul on top of his expertise.

Sorry for the run on sentences and typo's. Got to get back to Jasper.

Thank you to everyone that has kept us in your thoughts and Prayers! May God Bless you all!!

Michelle

If you worry about anything unusual...good time to phone the question in to the vet. He may say no problem..he may want Jasper quiet. He may say Jasper just feels so good without that big tumor....he is just happy to be home.

Especially after a surgery, they do understand and can't predict every reaction afterwards.
Just to hear...don't worry about it...is worth the call. Either describe Jasper to the gal and ask her to ask the vet about it or ask for the vet to call you when he has a free moment (I've found they are very good about doing this).

If your mind relaxes...so should Jasper's as they always sense when we are uptight about anything.

So far sounds wonderful...but if you think he is too active...I would ask if that is normal or okay.

Geeze Louise! Jasper is OUT OF CONTROL!! Dr. Cody not only removed the tumor but I think he also took out Jaspers governor. He's running around like a white tornado! Crazy Boy!

Does anyone else feel pain watching your furbaby run around the day after a serious surgery? I need to go take an Aleve!

I went through this with Iggy also. I tried reasoning with him, but could not get him to rest.

Later on, he fell asleep like the mainspring had wound down.

BTW, I love the name "Jasper". It was one of my favorite candidates for Iggy, if you look back in that "Naming" thread. Then OTHER PEOPLE around home got involved.

All that energy that was tied up dealing with the lump and the pain! "Whoo-hoo, I feel better now! Wheeeeee!!!"
Rohan was sicker when he came home, so it took him a few days, but he went through a zoomer stage too, which isn't usually the speed he travels at. A fabulous sign that he's feeling well, great to see! ~Kim

Judy, I was thinking the same thing, so I called the vet after I posted Jaspers rampage. The vet laughed and said not to worry, let him wear himself out. No danger, though I did step in when Jasper decided he wanted to pounce on Mama Wassi. I finally got him to lay down with me and he fell asleep like a sack of potatos. He makes the cutest noises.

He has a great way of stealing my pillow. He lays on my head and forces me to remove my head from the pillow.

The incision looks great. No redness or swelling. Dr. Cody wants Jasper to clean it himself. So far Jasper only licks around the edges of it.

Jasper was named by his Foster Mom. Since he was 3 months old, I decided to keep it. There's plenty of time for new nick names which I'm sure he will have! When Frankee is tearing the place up I call him "Frankenkitty". I had a dog about 20 years ago named Jasper so it's an easy name with loveable memories . Jon, I just love the name Ignatius! That name demands an attitude! "Sir Ignatius to you!" I heard the band "Pink Floyd" got their name by putting slips of paper in one hat with colors written on them and then slips of papers in another hat with names written on them. Always wanted to try something like that with a furbaby!

Kim, I just love your avatar of Mink and Willow. What special furbabies! Their coats compliment each other so well and what LOVE. What wonderful memories.

Eva, Thanks so much for your continued support. To everyone that is riding this out with us. It means so much. I'd be a basket case without all of you!

I'll keep everybody informed about the outcome of the "tumor test". I just wish everyone else on this thread could have such good news. My heart breaks for all of you that are going through pet sickness. I am so sorry for your pain and cry reading your stories. I will keep you all in my Prayers.

Hi, Michelle...I read where you said:

That felt soooooooooooooo good to hear that the vet "laughed and said not to worry". That's what I mean about a simple phone call can relieve so much anxiety in our minds...which can get bigger..which we don't need but I love it when you said "laughed". Means that Jasper racing around is the best of all..........because he feels good, is happy, and is very glad to be home.
That's the greatest news of all.

Thanks for the update. What a sweetheart...went through surgery and turned into a tornado

Give him a hug and a kiss wub.gif

Still waiting for the results of the biopsy. Hubby is stopping by the vet on his way home from work. The vet was super kind to let us make payments for the surgery. He really worked with us. Hopefully there will be good news!

Jasper is all over the house. He discovered the cubby hole under the stairs behind the couch the other day. It's usually Mama Wassi's hiding spot since she is a grumpy old lady with the other kitties and hides there. Jasper is just the sweetest little guy. He loves waking me up by putting his front paws on my face and kneading. Ouch. He is such a love but then will turn around and be completely independent. Yesterday he was playing with Frankee in the kitchen. We had left a brown paper sack with handles on the floor since they were having such a good time with it. The next thing I hear is very loud paper bag noises coming my way. He had gotten stuck in one of the paper handles but it broke lose before he got to me. He got all bushy tailed. It was so funny. Frankee just sat there watching the show.

I'll post when I have the results. Thanks everyone for being concerned. I can't imagine going through this without all of you.

Good morning Michelle,

I'm happy to hear Jasper has returned to his rambunctious self again. It's amazing to me just how quickly animals bounce back to normal after a surgery.

My thoughts remain positive that the lump is not of a cancerous nature. My heart tells me you and Jasper have many years of happiness left to enjoy together along with the rest of your lovely family. smile.gif

Love and hugs,

GOOD NEWS!! THE TEST RESULTS ARE BACK AND IT IS BENIGN

Dr. Cody just called with the good news. He feels the lump was caused by a sloppy injection.

Jasper and Frankee have been tearing the house up! It sounds like a herd of horses when they are upstairs in their room.

Thanks to all of you that have been keeping Jasper in your thoughts and Prayers. I know they made all of the difference in our little boy!

Hi, Michelle

Wonderful news! It sounded like that would be the answer and it was.

It is a shame a baby has to go through surgery, etc., due to a "sloppy injection".
But if there had to be a lump...that would be the preferred result, that's for sure.

Jasper the tornado can now race around to his heart's delight. I love that he
and Frankee are so bonded.

I'm glad you got him and that now you can stop worrying and just enjoy both your babies.

Hugs

Judy

It's a joy to hear some good news - never feel guilty because you have good news about your furkid's health. It brought tears of joy to my eyes and I think we all share that happiness for someone else's good fortune.
With care,
