No i dont think so.
A friend from school her dad was an alcholic but non of his children are.
And a new friend ive met recently her husband is and although her son is extremely shy (possibly due to his dads condition) he is an adorable person who will not drink at all.
I hope thats what you meant

Dear Avril, I know having alcoholic parents
are said to influence people. But I think
we all have a will to do the right thing.
We don't have to follow their ways.
I am a survivor of child abuse. I could have
chosen to or let myself be the same way
to my children. But I promised myself I
would be a better mother than that.
It takes strength and courage to fight
for yourself for a better way of life.
So if you are worried that you might
develope a drinking problem in life
you just tell yourself you have strength and
will never drink. With strength and love
we can be who we want to be. You have to
want something bad enough and go for it.
Love, Ann

I'm feeling like a murderer, I've got to put my kitty Xian down on Wednesday, 2 March 2005 (he's 13). His kidneys are shutting down, and it's breaking my heart. Am I doing the right thing?

Hi Avril
Tell us about your dreams; sometimes the scary ones have good interpretations, like a coffin actually means a new beginning.
I have a book on dreams and may be able to help a little – no promises though.

Hi Stitch
No you are not a murderer.
What you are about to do is out of love and a need to see your precious Xian out of pain.
Many of us here have been through this and will try and help you through your pain.

Sometimes it takes us a while to move on.
Our dreams they say are working out our problems from during the day, understandably you are still stuck in that day when you lost Dee.
Each night before you go to sleep ask your dreams to show both Dee and yourself moving on and remember that death in a dream is actually a new beginning.
The following quote is taken from a book called ‘The Complete Book of Dreams and Dreaming’ by Pamela J. Ball and under the heading Death she says: -
“In these present times, as peoples’ attitudes change, death in a dream indicates a challenge we must confront. We need to adjust our approach to life and to accept that there can be a new beginning if we have courage”

Hi Avril, I was wondering how you were doing since I haven't seen you on here for a long time. I wish I had more time so that I could chat with you but between this site and my husband, children, grand chilren, and my furbabies I just am so busy all the time. When summer comes I may not have as much time on here. Then I can take my frandbabies and furbabies to the park. It was good to see you again.

Hi Avril, I am sorry you are having money problems and that your dad was in the hospital. Maybe your mom will find a way for you to go to Toronto. Thanks for the licks, purrs and meows from your babies.
