If anyone here has the time to send some positive thoughts to my Falkor it would be appreciated. He's been quite sick the last few days. It looks like he's having reaction to his medicine.
My first priority: get him stabilized. He's off all meds (I've discussed this with his vet). He's not drinking, but he is eating a bit so I'm mixing a lot of water with his food.
Second priority: get him onto another kind of painkiller once he's stabilized.
I'm very worried. Falkor has been a concern for years. I've been blessed to have him as long as I have. He's been my "miracle dog", but I know that some day he won't pull through. I just hope that day isn't now.

Hi, Steph-
I'm sending lots of positive thoughts to both you and Falkor. I hope he does well on his new med routine and that he continues to be your "miracle dog" for many years to come.

I used to give Jude water through a syringe (no needle of course)
Pull the syringe up to fill it with water, hold it upside down and put it in the corner of his mouth and push the plunger down again.
I hope things get better for you both

Thank you all. I'm too stressed to type much.
I'm hoping he'll pull through for me again.
God, please, not my other dog too.

Oh Steph I know how you feel begging God not to take another one too. It was enough to lose Chili Bean and now with Amber being so sick and the worry of Snookie, well it is all just to much and so hard. How is the little boy doing now?

Steph,
Positive thoughts are coming your way. Maybe try giving chicken broth with his meals. It tastes better and gives nutrients. Stymy loved beef and chicken broth with his meals.

Add on another prayer for Falkor from me! I've tried Vicki's suggestion about the chicken broth before and it works wonders with my mom's puppy. If you have the time try making it yourself from a small roasting chicken without adding any salt, especially if he's not drinking much water.

Hi all, and thanks for your supportive words and ideas.
Yes, the big guy is on chicken broth with rice. He seems to have stabilized somewhat.
Tomorrow morning we are off to get some bloodwork done on him. Hopefully his kidneys are ok. He needs to be switched to a different medication. Poor guy. He was doing so well on the Metacam.

Thanks Denise!
He is doing much better now. I'm waiting on the results from the vet to see if there has been any damage to his kidneys orhis liver.
Fingers are crossed...
