Full Version: Prayers For My Little Friend, Razzy

Hi everyone,

A very dear friend and work mate lost her little girl, Razzy yesterday to a
truck.
I work at a grooming shop and have known Razzy since
she was a tiny little pup. She was a spirited little Rat Terrier/ Chih. cross. And
she was all ears. You know, those huge corn stalk ears that spring up like
skyscrapers when she spyed something interesting. She had long, graceful legs
and would spring from floor to grooming table in a single step. She was a
little gazelle in a dog's body. She didn't bark, she talked. She'd amuse
herself in her crate for hours, laying on her back chortelling and "rawring" to
her toys. She'd go from sound asleep to (play) attack mode in half a second
and was always ready to wrestle. She'd prefer to walk on her two hind legs
than on all fours. She could see more that way, I think. When I close my eyes
and picture her in my minds eye, I just feel the joy that was the essence of
Razzy.
Yesterday, Razzy didn't come to work with my friend. It was very busy
for Thanksgiving and for many reasons, my friend decided it was better for
her to stay home. Somehow, Razzy snuck out and began to walk the same route my friend and she took to
come to work. She must have tried to cross the street and a truck hit her. A
very kind person stopped and at least pulled her to the side of the road. She
was killed less than 1/2 mile from our work. This morning my boss called the
shelter and was told that at least she likely passed instantly. We also were able to
recover her collars and we have gone to "Things Remembered" and bought a silver
keepsake box with Razzy's name engraved in it to keep the collars and any other
momentos.
We all worked yesterday with blurry eyes and with choked back tears. It's
always horrible when we lose on of the kids we've been grooming or sitting for
years. But this is one of our own. And she was only 3.
I am posting in hopes to be able to print all the responses and create a scrapbook for her
to keep and read for comfort in the painful weeks and months ahead. Razzy's Mom is Crystal and she
is about the sweetest person I've ever known. To double this tragedy, she lost a little poodle puppy
about a year before she found Razzy to a genetic heart defect. My heart is broken for her.
Thanks for listening, Lisa

Lisa,
I am so very sorry that Razzy was trying to get to her mama and got hit by a truck and was killed. Oh my and with just a 1/2 mile to go that is just so heartbreaking. It sounds like you are doing wonderful things for her, what a great idea with the silver keepsake box and thing. Please tell Crystal my thoughts and prayers are with her for little Razzy and also her little poodle. You are a good friend to her and you surely feel like she is one of your own. I am so sorry.

Hi Crystal,

I"m truly sorry to learn of the loss of your beloved Razzy. It doesn't really seem to matter how we lose our pets, the end result is always the same: complete disbelief and a broken heart that takes quite sometime to mend. I had to have my dog of almost twelve years put to sleep on Aug. 18th so I have firsthand knowledge of the almost unbearable grief you are currently feeling. Since it's been a little over three months for me, I can tell you that with the passage of time and the falling of many tears, things will slowly begin to get better. I don't believe we'll ever reach the point of not missing our little friends at all, but we do learn to live with it.

From your friend Lisa's description, your little Razzy sounds like she was quite a character and she brought much joy into your life and to all those who had the honor of meeting her. Her time here on earth was much too brief but it was time well spent. She knew how much she was loved and she left this world knowing that. I'm glad the two of you found each other and spent a few happy years together. The time we have with our pets is never long enough, but the wonderul memories and the special lessons they taught us will remain always.

Thinking of you,
__Jim

Crystal,

I'm so sorry for your loss! Razzy sounds precious. Lisa wrote about "the joy that was the essence of
Razzy. wub.gif And that is true now too. Joy is what Razzy's sweet soul is experiencing. She passed instantly, so she didn't have to suffer, thank God. Next thing she knew, she was enveloped in complete bliss. She is closer to you than you might think. And, you WILL be fully reunited when it's your time. smile.gif I have absolutely no doubts.

Write any time. I'm so glad Lisa wrote to us!

You're in my prayers,

Kathy
