Hi, Kathy, please permit me to offer you my sincerest sympathies in the physical loss of your beloved Ethel. Losing a companion is never easy regardless of the circumstances or how long we are blessed with the privilege of their company. Losing a companion unexpectedly intensifies the grief.

Kathy, this grief journey is one of the most painful experiences you will know on this side of eternity. It is a journey that is filled with many different emotions that can overwhelm us all at one time which is why it is frequently referred to as a horror roller coaster ride. If there is any comfort in what happened to your beloved Ethel it is that she transitioned home to the angels in the place she loves the most: her home surrounded by the sights, sounds, and smells she loved the most during her earthly journey. As painful as it is having found her, the blessing is that you have the opportunity of knowing where she passed from this earthly journey instead of the heartache of not knowing what happened to her should she have disappeared without a trace.

As painful as it is now for you to begin the journey of adjusting to the physical absence of your beloved Ethel, there is one thing that will never change - - the love bond you and your beloved Ethel share. Love is eternal, Kathy - - it is not restricted to the physical laws of time and space. Your beloved Ethel's sweet Living Spirit continues to share your earthly journey as she always has and always will for she is always and forever a part of your heart and memories - - she is always and forever a heartbeat close to you.

Kathy, I know all too well from first hand experience that when our hearts are entrenched in deep grief there are no adequate words in any language that can soothe the searing pain of sorrow. Still I hope the words I share with you will offer you some measure of comfort, support, encouragement, and hope as you travel your grief adjustment journey.

Thank you so much for honoring us in sharing your beloved Ethel with us, Kathy. Perhaps sometime you will feel up to sharing a picture of her with us - - but only when / if you want to. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Kathy, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,

Hi, Kathy

I am very sorry for your loss of Ethel. It doesn't matter how long our beloved pets were with us, the grief/pain/sadness we feel is still the same. Please know that you are not alone here. I stumbled on this site when my cat, Tama, died on March 31. It still hurts a lot inside me, and I have a constant lump in my chest. But this morning was the first morning I did not cry when I saw my Tama's photos on my night stand.

Lots of love to you.

Kathy, I am so very sorry to hear the heartbreaking news! I cannot even imagine the shock you felt when you found Ethel's precious physical form on the deck!

As moon_beam said, sweet Ethel is still with you. She just is in her pure spiritual form now. You are still her Mom and always will be.

Ethel doesn't want you suffering. If the roles had been reversed and it had been you who had passed from your physical form, you would want only good things for Ethel.

Do you have other pets in your home now? I was just curious because I hate to think of you feeling alone--on top of feeling the weight of this grief!

Please share with us how you are doing. I'll be looking for any posts from you.

Sending you prayers for the beginnings of some peace!

Kathy

Hi Kathy,

I am so sad to hear about your kitty Ethel, that must have been horrible to find her on your deck! And being so young.

It's sad at anytime to lose a pet, but when they are young and you have no answers must be terrible.

Thinking of you.
