BabyHenry
5 month anniversary approaching. I dread it, even though it really has no more meaning than any other day. My husband is trying to talk me into another cat but I can't. I just can't. I think he does not want me to be sad anymore and this is the only way he can think to fix it.

I miss you Henry and love you forever.

Hi, BabyHenry, thank you so much for sharing with us how you're doing, and your and your beloved Henry's 5 month angel-versary. Especially during the first year of our grief adjustment journey we are mindful of the day and hour our beloved companion's transition home to the angels. This is a part of this grief journey, BabyHenry. Also, as holidays approach - - and other special moments such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc., - - it can feel like the deep sorrow is more intense. This also is very normal, but I promise you one day you will be able to think of your beloved Henry and smile - - truly smile - - and feel the warmth of your and your beloved Henry's eternal love warming your heart once again. Does this mean you will no longer miss your beloved Henry? No, but it does mean that the intense sorrow in your heart is easing, and this is what your beloved Henry wants for you.

Some people find that embracing a new companion can help in the grief adjustment journey as the new companion helps them to focus on a new life. Some people prefer to wait until their deep sorrow has eased, and some people never adopt again - - for whatever reason. Only YOU, BabyHenry, can determine when / if the time is "right" for you to embrace a new companion into your heart. Your husband is trying to offer you comfort and encouragement, - - however good his intentions are - - although for you - - at least for now - - the timing apparently isn't "right."

I hope today is treating you kindly, BabyHenry, and that you will have a very peaceful evening blessed with your beloved Henry's sweet Living Spirit to comfort you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, and please let us know how you're doing.

Peace and blessings,
moon_beam
