People keep telling me that Ricky was just a dog and they just don't get it. Ricky was with me when I had cancer, he would lie next to me when I cried from the discomfort of chemotherapy, he never left my side. I can't say the same for most of my family and friends. Ricky knew when I was sad, when I was in pain and he would always come and put his paw on my foot and tilt his little head like he wanted to help but didn't know how. Just a dog. If he was just a dog than more people should be just a dog because there is nothing more loyal than a dog. Rest in peace dear sweet Ricky, after 2 weeks we still cry for our angel.

Hi, Mhmama, please permit me to offer you my sincerest sympathies in the physical loss of your beloved Ricky. Losing a companion is never easy regardless of the circumstances or how long we are blessed with the privilege of their company.
Mhmama, although clinical professionals recognize that the grief journey for the physical loss of a beloved companion is the same as for a human family member or friend, unfortunately our society in general, and sadly sometimes the people who are closest to us geographically and emotionally, do not. This is one of the many reasons why this wonderful forum is here for us to come and share what is in our hearts with others who truly do understand what we are going through.
Thank you so much for honoring us in sharing your beloved Ricky with us, and the wonderful picture of your beloved boy. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Mhmama, and please let us know you're doing.
Peace and blessings,
