Your words and encouragement mean so much to me. The Vet called us back last night around 8 pm. After I described his current symptoms she got us into the office immediately today. She thinks he could have Toxoplasmosis that is effecting his brain and causing increased pressure to areas that effect swallowing, gait, and the ocular nerve . She did another CBC which showed an amazing improvement!!!!! His body is back to making RBC's and his platelet count has decreased! He has had a decreased in his RBC's however as long as his body is able to produce more it should be ok. The vet also gave my boy another steroid shot. He ate and drank water for the first time since sunday. He will be started on Clindamycin hopefully tomorrow. All of the pharmacies in my area was out of the medication and have to order it. It is horribly expensive but worth it for my baby.

Thanks you sooooo much once again for all of your support!!!!! I will continue to keep you updated

Love Ke & Boots

Hi, kmarie, thank you so much for sharing with us how your precious Boots and you are doing. I am so sorry that he is having a difficult week. The side effects of medicine can be as debilitating as the illness, and since you are seeing this with your precious Boots the best thing to do is to stop the medication as recommended by the vet assistant. I hope as the side effects subside your precious Boots will begin to feel better.
KMarie, each of us ask the universal question "why" when our precious companions become ill / injured. There is nothing worse than feeling totally helpless in being able to make them physically well. If there is any reasonable answer to your question it is that our precious companion's physical body is created similarly to ours. Consequently, their physical bodies are subject to the same illnesses as ours, and unfortunately - - their life spans on this side of eternity are significantly shorter than ours. All this "logic" being said, however, does not comfort the torment of our hearts when we see them so critically ill and we are faced with the impending prospects of having to adjust our earthly journey without their sweet physical presence with us.
You are doing the best thing for your precious Boots as you share with us: "I just want him to be comfortable and loved from this point on." I hope by now your veterinary care provider has called you and perhaps has been able to offer you alternatives that can help your precious Boots feel more comfortable. Chronic pain and discomfort is debilitating to the physical body as well as the spirit, and if there is a way to help your precious Boots feel more comfortable this may also improve the quality of his remaining earthly journey with you. Please let us know how things go.
I hope today is treating you and your precious Boots kindly, kmarie. Thank you so much for sharing your precious Boots with us, and these wonderful pictures of you and your precious boy. Please know you and your precious Boots are in my thoughts and prayers, kmarie, and please let us know how your precious boy and you are doing.
Peace and blessings,
