Tom's Dad, this should be posted everywhere. I couldn't imagine being without Shelley or Mindy or leaving them behind, no way! So many people give up their cats due to a move, and it's really unnecessary. They do fine traveling in a car as long as they're in a comfortable cage with a little litter box and some food and water. I've had friends of mine pack up all their 8 cats in carriers when they moved to New York. It took them about 11 hours to get there, but they made it and so did the cats.

It reminds of the form from the animal shelter that I filled out when I adopted Theresa. It said something like what would you consider a valid reason for returning a rescue to the shelter? I put "NONE!!" Over 5 years later and she is still going strong as a member of our family smile.gif

Bless your heart! smile.gif I hope you'll have many more years with Teresa. You actually saved two lives that day, Teresa's and the cat she made "room" for in the shelter.

Thank you. Actually it turns out I really did save her life. I got her from PetSmart where the Banfiled I go to is. I was looking for a companion for Tom. Even though it was managed by the only no kill shelter in the region, she had been there from 4 months to just over 4 years old. When I came back to pick her up, the shelter rep had tears in her eyes when she thanked me for taking her. That and the fact that there was no adoption fee, leads me to believe her time was running out even though it was no kill. We never looked back.....

A brilliant picture and so very true and any proper pet owner will agree. I am looking to have a child but I am actually devastated Chewy is not here to experience it as the plan was always with Chewy in the picture. I could not imagine my family without my cats......or my rabbits either.

You were a hero for saving Teresa smile.gif shows just how much of a great person you are.

Love the picture! Have you thought about getting it engraved on a keepsake? I have one of my children but I know you can get them for pets too. Nice memory to take with you.

Hi missingmygranny

No, not really. It's not my cat; just something I found on the internet. I probably could not afford it anyway. It's a nice thought though.
