Gretta's Mom
Dear LS friends

Would all you animals in heaven please say a little prayer for Bobbie's dog, Dreamer, today? He's developed a sudden health condition but we're hoping it's nothing. We'll know later today and we'll let you all know.

Thanks a million.

Hello Moonbeam and Love My Mickey

Bobbie is happy to report that Dreamer's vet thinks his troubles stem from he and his brother Kelley-With-And-E's eating binge yesterday - through several packages of sugar wafers. He's going to get a UA, but the vet thinks he'll be OK. Time for these guys to live in a crate for a while, maybe?

Hi Gretta's Mom,

That's great news! I hope the test turns out okay too. Those boys are "Cookie Monsters" smile.gif

Dear Wonderful Lightning-Strike friends,

THANK YOU for all your good wishes and prayers for Dreamer, who seems to have survived his marathon sugar wafer eating contest. It seems he also ate most of the little Hershey miniatures that were also packed in the box for my dad. But he's fine now and on a diet.

However, during the night Kelley started seriously scratching at his neck....all night long and into the morning. When I finally was able to look at his neck it was bloody and soggy with fluid, so.....off to the doggie E.R. we went. Turns out his problem is the beginnings of a very large "hot spot". I have heard of them before, but luckily none of my boys ever had one. Kelley got a shot of dexamethasone (steroid) and has an atibiotic spray to apply to his neck. AND the local Goodwill is all out of adult white winter-cotten turle necks! They are perfect for covering Kelley's entire neck and still letting him scratch if he needs to. The bottom is tied in a large knot on his back so he doesn't get the underside wet, if you know what I mean. Actually he kind of looks like a dog version of Kate Hepburn!

I guess this is the beginnings of the doggie & doctor season. You know, these guys have the best health coverage of any of us: 100% coverage with no deductible.

Again, things are OK which is why I can be silly. THANK YOU for your well wishes. Have a great week!
