I miss my little guy this time of year. Last week was the th anniversary. My hubby hung his Christmas stocking next to his pictures frames downstairs. We just put up our Christmas decorations, and I remember how Misty used to lie under the Christmas tree. We have dozens of pictures of that!

December was such a hard time the year we lost him and for 2 years after. I cried every Thanksgiving. For those of you that are at that stage, I do offer a lot of hope. Last year and this year are more remembering the fun times.........I'd sing Christmas carols with his name in the song. One year he got a catnip mat in his stocking that is still on the fireplace.......I remember him pawing at the stocking smelling the catnip.

I also remember how every January he would mope around the house because we put the tree away! Little stinker!!

Magic, our new cat, has been Heaven sent. I like to think Misty sent him to us......6 months after he died Magic showed up in our suburban backyard, in a neigborhood where there really are not any strays. After investivating and interviewing neighbors, tehy begged us to take Magic in. Someone that sold a home had a relative dump her there when they moved out, and Magic had been hitting everyone up for a home. Lucky us!!!!! She is so sweet and we know Misty sent her to us so my daughter would have a cat to grow up with.

It is nice to hear your stories of your sweet kitty at this time of the year. I miss my little guy too so much at this time. He always got new toys for Christmas and sometimes other special things and of course kitty treats. He would so appreciate the new toys and jump right in to play with them as soon as they were opened. And he would give me this look - like "for me? - thank you." He would watch me put up the decorations as well and sit near the tree or just look at it when it was lit up at night. I'm glad you have a new friend to share the holidays with - I'm not ready for that now.
