The guy who wrote this article is so right! I thought others may want to read this too....

I read the article. Unlike she said in the article, I guess I'm not quite in the present tense, but more of "I was so lucky". And now my luck has run out. Maybe one day it'll hit me and can then say "I am so lucky". I'm not sure what I'm saying at this point. But it was a touching article, full of courage.

Thank you for posting that story.

It helps to not dwell on what happened to Winston but to think about the four years he was with us... like the story said, "I was so lucky" to have a pet like Winston.

I hope it helps others here to remember the good times with their pets and not dwell on what they don't have anymore.

A great article for sure and I will try and take some of what the lady said on board, which is not easy for a "glass is always half empty" not "half full" person like me. I find it very difficult to let go of the things I love. feel sorry for the lady losing the love of her life, she is so brave, braver than me.

Hi, Baden, thank you so much for the touching article. Yes, our furkids are our soul mates, and this is one of the many reasons why not having their sweet physical presence with us is so painful - - both physically and emotionally - - including for the fur kids who are also "survivors" of loss.

Thank you again for sharing this article with us. It gives hope and encouragement, especially in the darkest moments of grief.

Peace and blessings,
