You are such a reasonable and empathetic person--I want to hear more!

blindsided too...
Jeepers, Margi, for a second there I thought I was getting called in to the principal's office. :]

Thank you for your kind words; I think of you and ladywolf often, and all who are here.

Sorry for not being here regularly... I know y'all understand, it hurts here and I'm such a pansy about pain. Every time I come here the waterworks start... hate that too. Okay, done for now.

But okay, more.

Thought of something the other day. Something I need to internalize, but maybe will help somebody else struggling.

We here most often blame ourselves for whatever ending our pets endured... either euthanised or accident or misfortune or whatever... we torture ourselves by reliving that end over and over and over and over and over in our minds. We don't let it rest. But our pets died only once, and any discomfort or pain in that end is OVER once the body has died and the spirit is released from the body.

We need to let the death go... let it go, and relive the life, not the death.

That's for Belle and Sprinkle.

Thank you so much for sharing that! I have been feeling a little down the last couple of days and thinking about how the end was. I am going to print your words and read them when I feel bad about my decision.

Blindsided Too--

Like Rhapsody, that's the kind of stuff I wanted to hear you say. What you said applies equally to the loss of people, as well as pets.

I know what you mean--I find the pain here unbearable sometimes myself and need to take a break from it. Just when things seem to calm down a little, some new terrible thing happens. This Forum is a WONDERFUL thing, a great place for people to tell their stories and express their grief, but we all have to choose when we are strong enough to be here.

I totally agree with your thoughts re/death. It only happens once, but some of us replay and replay and replay it until, if it were a videotape, it would have long ago broken. It's natural for the mind to do that, I think, but not healthy for the heart...

Tee-Hee...the PRINCIPAL'S office!!!

Peace and blessings--

Margi and Ladywolf
