It's been 4wks today. There are reminders all the time and everywhere of my baby BK. Finding it difficult to accept she's gone. The tears are fewer but the sadness remains. I miss her so much.

Hang in there this pain and emptyness has to someday go away. If they had never made us so happy we would not be sooo sad. I try to tell myself thoughts like that. I try to turn all my emotions into something positive. And I know none of us would trade a day of happiness that we had with our beloved pet. I read somewhere at another site that why does our pets have such a short life. And the answer was could you emagine how worse the pain would be if we had them 25 to 30 years and then lost them. I cant even fathum the hurt if it hurts this much for the short time that we did. Please try to hang in there that is all we can do.

Dear Fem--

Was BK a dog or a cat? Can you describe him or her to us, or post a picture?

I agree that the pain often never completely goes away, but it becomes less as time passes. I just lost my Poppers dog almost a month ago, and now her "sister" Ladywolf has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. It's a lot to take all at once--but that's the problem with having two pets who are about the same age!

Please tell us more about BK...

Hi Margi,

As you know I lost Callaway 4 months ago and I now have my Jack Russell who isn't doing well... the vet thinks he has a brain tumor... he will be 15 in March. It is a lot to take all at once but I feel as I'm sure you do so grateful to have this forum for support.

I pray for you, Poppers, and Ladywolf everynight before I go to bed. I am not a religious person but ever since Callaway died I have been praying every night and it seems to be helping.

Take care,
Rhapsedy
