Bud Bud is a beautiful doggie... tell us a bit about him. We love to hear about the wonderful companions each has chosen to share their homes, life and hearts with.
I know you will miss him but I bet he had a wonderful life with you.
Actually, his name is Buddy - I just called him my "Bud Bud". I am feeling very sad tonight and miss him terribly. Like everyone elses' pets, Buddy was my best friend. He always knew when I was upset and would come over and put his head on my lap or stare at me with his head ##ed. I need him so much right now. He was big for an English Setter and he had these enormous paws - even as a puppy. He used to trip over them all the time and do somersaults. It was really funny. He loved to run - we'd let him out and he'd take off and be gone for hours. But he always came back. It helped that we lived in the middle of nowhere and he could run anywhere he wanted. People told me that he was probably chasing deer and I was convinced that wasn't true and that he was only trying to play with them! He was a great dog with my kids, all kids really. He was not a very good watch dog, however. People would come to the house and he practically opened the door to show them in. He was definitely a "people" dog. One really funny thing he used to do was, if I was sitting on the floor, he would come over to me and get as close as possible as if he was trying to be subtle and that I wouldn't notice he was there. I think he had a good life - he was old, 14 - well over the life expectancy of a Setter which is 10-12. So we got to have a little extra time that I will always treasure. Thanks for writing - I'm new to this and have found some of the stories here, as sad as they are, comforting to me and knowing that I'm not the only one feeling so lonely.
