HE WAS THE BEST COMPANION AND FRIEND I EVER HAD. I WISH HE DIDN'T HAVE TO GO. HE WAS 16 YEARS OLD AND ONE DAY HE COULDEN'T WALK ANYMORE. THE DR COULDEN'T DO ANYTHING FOR HIM. I WAS DEVISTATED. MY HEART HURT SO MUCH, I DIDN'T WANT TO LET HIM GO, I PRAYED FOR GOD TO LET HIM WALK AGAIN, BUT MY PRAYER'S WE'RE NOT ANSWERED. I WILL MISS AND LOVE HIM FOREVER.

I am sorry for your feelings of great loss for Samson. He was so lucky to have belonged to someone like you. Someone who gave him so much love and friendship and allowed him to live a really good, long life. And someone who deeply appreciated all the love and friendship he gave in return. He was very, very blessed in his life, and he made your life special. I know how much you miss him. It is so sad that we can never have them back - even just for a day. I miss and love my Abbey girl just as terribly and I am heartsick everyday. I want so badly to touch her and hug her and look into her beautiful brown, smiling eyes, and take her for a run through the woods or a ride in the car - like she loved to do. I know I will always feel this same love her for and miss her just as deeply eight years from now and far beyond. I find comfort knowing she was blissfully happy in her little life, with such a great family who loved and adored her every minute. She was a best friend to us all. No one can ever replace her in my heart. I hope that your loving memories of Samson also bring you comfort. He lives on in your heart. The process of life has forged an eternal connection between your souls. Love is such a powerful force - for better or worse. But in the end, it makes all of our lives - no matter how short or long - worthwhile. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as we travel together - along with all our hurting pet-loving friends in this group - down the bumpy healing path and try to navigate the deep, dark potholes along the way. They say time heals all wounds, I'm not so sure about that.
I still grieve for them years later. You had 16 good years with him, yes?
Some people aren't that lucky.
