i am sorry to see you here, but glad you found us for support. something about the Fall months in the US,
we always get lots of new people here. sad.
Gort
Thanks for hosting these forums. I'm not sure where I'd be at this point without them. As difficult as it is to visit here and read the sorrowful messages, it's also a comfort. We are suffering such great pain, that numb pain that only a broken empty heart can feel. Our buddies are no longer with us in body and it leaves a gaping hole in our lives similar I would imagine to the loss of a child. They are still always by our sides or curled up in our laps in spirit and always will be.

I think most of us can feel a little better when we think of "the Rainbow Bridge" which I personally had never heard of until coming here. It's wonderful to think of our precious pets at the prime of their lives, running and playing with each other, feeling no pain and no suffering. In my minds eye I can almost imagine the place. Someday our mortal time will end and we're going to reunite with all our buddies. In the mean time we must remember them fondly because they will hold a special place in our hearts and minds for the rest of our lives.

LS support--I can't agree with Gort enough--I am very happy you have provided this place for us to convene and talk things over! My "real life" friends were not so good at consoling me when I lost Ginger--this place is wonderful and you are wonderful to provide it!
Thanks so much--I intend to make a donation soon!
Love,

been doing this since 1996 and do not have any idea of stopping. i have to admit to everyone here tho, and
as gort mentioned, it is difficult to read the sorrow of the posts here. i stopped thoroughly reading posts
about 3 years ago because it got to be too much to bear. i still do check every post to ensure it is
"legitimate" and within the spirit of the site, and do post now and then when a post strikes something
inside me. i say this to ensure no one thinks i don't still care because i do wub.gif

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this board, LS Support.

One of the worst parts of losing my Jake, and the dog I had before him, Todd, was that when they passed on, it seems like I am the only one in the whole world who even cares or even knows they were alive. Such beautiful loving creatures and NO ONE CARES! Sure my family and some friends know my pets, but they don't care THAT much and it's not like when a person dies, for your animal you don't have the luxury of society's rituals like obituaries and viewings and funeral services and condolence cards etc. I think there is a whole lot of "quiet desperation" going on out there, it will always be because society in general does not value animals like they deserve.

So this board is wonderful, even with all it's sad stories which I think are hard for everyone to read - you are doing a very good thing here. wub.gif

Do you ever wonder if we chose Lightning Strike or if Lightning Strike chose us.

When I look for this web page on other computers I have a hell of a job finding it and wonder sometimes at how easily I found it when I needed to and considering the state I was in at the time it was a miracle.

Thanks MD you’ll get your wings in heaven of that I'm sure.

MD Cohn, "thank you" for the work you have done here. I don't know where I'd be right now if I had not stumbled across "lightening-strike". My Mother always told me that for any good deeds done on this earth, you would surely have a star in your crown in heaven. MD your crown will be overflowing.

That saying not only relates to you but the supportive members on this site. You have provided a safe place to come to and talk about a loss that many people in our daily lives do not understand. The members have shown me a kindness that I so desparately needed at this most difficult time.

Thank you
