Hi everybody! It has been awhile since I've been here. Today is the two-year anniversary of losing my best friend Rajah and I don't know how to deal with it. I miss him so much. I feel like I've lost my connection to him and can't even picture him anymore. How do you deal?

I am so sorry that this anniversary is so difficult for you.

I have a birthday looming for me in the next few days and just know I'll have a difficult time. However, we have a cat that we are not sure of his birthdate but it is around the 1 year for him so I plan to "assign" him Flossie's birthday so I can celebrate his special day and maybe her birthday will not be quite so sad for me.

Boy, this pet loss is a real rollercoaster isn't it? Sometimes the overwhelming grief comes form nowhere when you least expect it and knocks you for a loop. It is a short time for me still at only a little over 4 months but I had her for 17-1/2 years and she was a lifesaver to me at a very difficult time in my life and then she had so many life threatning things happen. She fought like a trooper and won everytime but was tired and kept going like the energizer bunny. It was my decision that she had been through enough and didn't need to keep up the fight.

I don't know the cir%%stances of your loss but am truly sorry and wish better days ahead for you. Try to remember the good times and happier days as well as know your special one is not suffering. Rajah is watching over you.

Yes, I am sure the anniversarys will be very tough. June will be coming up my 1 year anniversary. I can't even imagine 2 years. When people post of longer years it gives me the hope and encouragement that I too will make it to the next and the next--

Do you have and stories or any pictures you could post. Would love to read about them and it sometime helps us to write about our lost loved ones.

Know your Rajah Pony is looking down on you just like you are waiting for the day you will be reunited.

Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sorry about your loss. We cope one day at a time. There never are easy solutions.
Why don't you tell us about Rajah? Do you have any pictures? Sometimes it helps to talk about the ones who are special in our life. We really never forget them, no matter how much time has passed. Some save new ones and give them homes. Everyone handles their loss in their own way doing whatever helps them to cope.

It does not matter how many years have gone by....we will always miss them. And anniversaries are the hardest days...if it is a reminder of when they had to leave us.

We simply will always love them and so we will miss them and the missing causes the pain we feel inside....it becomes as much a part of us as they did.

We can cope by writing down our thoughts and our feelings about losing them, about having them as part of our lives.

I wish you peace and healing.
