Hi Poops it's Mom.. Well here it is again the 8th of the month, 6 so far, and so many more to come. I miss you and love you so much. You'll always be my little King.
The day I asked you send me a sign that I made the right decision, you go and send me that little cat who had such similar features to yours. I had no doubt that was your doing. The first week I hang out at the shelter I see a little kitten who resembled you at that age. When he saw me, he reached out his little paw and meow like crazy. My head heard meow, but my heart heard "mom it's me, it's Arthur, don't leave me". It was a true test of my strength. And now the latest. The first day I vouleenter at the shelter, I go in the back room where they keep the new incomers and sure enough, there you are, 2 1/2 years old looking like the last day I saw you happy and healthy.
Sweet baby, you don't have to try so hard to remind me. I will never ever ever forget you. And I'm not quite sure what to make of your look-a-likes your sending my way. I hope I can get a pict of Alden to show Daddy and the rest. I never thought I would see another like you. For a cat, you had a really good sense of humor in life and death. Rest in peace little one. xoxo Mom

God bless little Arthur-------He'll be there when you get there Ann.....just hang on.......The good news is as we get older(for some reason I am picturing you a baby boomer like me) the time seems to just flit by and for me that is just fine as it means we are closer to forever with our babies.Just a thought.Take care Ann....your forum pal, Bubba.............

You could never forget Arthur any more than he would ever forget you Ann. smile.gif I think it's wonderful that Arthur sends you so many messages of his presence and continuing love. Your hearts are connected with the everlasting love the two of you shared while he was still here on Earth and will continue to be bound between here and the next world. wub.gif

Hugs of love to you Ann on this 6 Month Angelversary,
Beth

Ann...

Arthur is such a beautiful boy!!!! And the shelter kitty Alden is awesome too.

Both must have Maine Coon. We have a Main Coon and his eyes are so expressive. He lost his lifetime companion 5 weeks ago and seems lonesome. We have the other pets but he was with her for 8 years befor any other animals entered the family. He actually grabbed our daughters leg as she headed out to the emergency room at 2:30am for what was certain to be her last trip. Maybe he knew this was the last time he would be with her.

He has always been a bit of a recluse except with his Lady Bug..... He is now 13.

It would be wonderful if you could take Alden into your home. If not I sure hope he finds the "next" perfect home. Yours being the most perfect of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's lovely that you are so often given reminders of Arthur. I do wish you could adopt another, if you felt ready, because you are such a loving "mom".

I have yet to see signs of Ziggy or Zita, but I ordered some ceramic tile coasters with orange tabby angels on them. They give me a cheerful feeling. I told Rosie on our last walk together, to say hi to Merlin, Zita, Ziggy and Tiffany and not to forget! So I hope Rosie is there right now and they are all snuggled in a huge heap together, maybe with Rosie's mom supervising the group.

Your Arthur was very special.

Yes, Arthur was very special. I never thought about what type of cat he was. The vet told us he had Maine coon in him. I read up on his breed. They are very smart(which he was) and great hunters (which he was too). He just didn't have the size they are known for. Seeing Alden took my breath away. They don't seem to be common cats that you see all the time. I asked at the shelter if they get many, they said no. The woman that works there said she can't remember ever having one. I cannot get another without Dave. It would have to live with him and he won't budge. Losing his buddy was way too much for him and I think he may feel loving another is a betrayal. Alden's owner passed away that is why he is there. He is a beauty and I know he will find a good home soon. In the mean time they will all get a little lovin from me...Sometimes I feel like this look a like thing is getting old, but I feel these are my signs from him and believe me I'm not out searching for this. It's nice to be able to physicall see and touch him(even though it's not really him), but hard at the same time. Theres a part of me that would love to get another Maine Coon and a part that doesn't. Maybe this means I'm not ready yet either. Thank you all again for your kind words and understanding..Take care...Ann

Our Maine Coon is not so big either. He LOOKS big because of all the hair but my 7 month old Siamese is bigger than him. They have such striking eyes I think.

At least you can give the kitties at the shelter some much needed love. I've considered some volunteer work at the shelter. I have sent money to sponsor dogs a few times. Long story about one time I did but the outcome was 5 dogs ended up being saved as a result of my sponsorship and constant pleas for one particular dog. We were actually on the way to get her and then the rescue went so moved the sponsorship. When the rescue got there a nice couple had just gone in to get the original dog I sponsored. My money got moved twice more as a result of openings and split between some needy dogs. I still communicate with the first dogs' parents. They have 50 fenced acres for her to enjoy.

Couple of pictures of our boy..... Looking at me like.... " I told her not to get in that wreath!"

Nice story Flossies Mom, and great pictures too. Today was my second time working at the shelter. I stopped by on Wed to take the picts and today 3 kitties got adopted. It's so great to see them go so fast. And wouldn't you know it, but ANOTHER Maine Coon came in. 10yr old Millie. She has much more brown tones, but georgeous just the same. What is up with this??? Even the lady that works their said she hasn't seen any Maine coons come in like this..Certainly makes me wonder..I always thought, a cat is a cat don't matter what breed it is. Those MC's are holding a real special place in my heart these days..I'm still working on getting 10yr old Andy though. I feel so sad that no one even gives him a second look..To most he's just an ordinary old cat not much to look at, but he kind of stole my heart. I cannot neglect any of them..Stay tuned!..Take care.. Ann

you said: Seeing Alden took my breath away.

He did the same for me when I saw his picture. What a beautiful boy!

I hope something works out with that rescue.
He is magnificent! The ear tufts are in the wrong place for a lynx..otherwise I would suspect some wild creature in the background.
