Hello everyone,
Well, after a few weeks without Brutus, I just felt SO lonely and depressed. I went to Southern Hope Humane Society here in Georgia and thought I'd just go and pet the cats and that in itself would make me feel better. When I arrived they told me I could go into the cat room and meet them all. I went in and sat on the floor, and the cats were SO nice, one black one kept getting in my lap and climbing on me, lol. I felt so happy. But then it happened,,,,,,,,,,,,,out of one of the beds on the shelves came a fat tabby named TIGGER,,,,,,,,,he rubbed his head on my leg and I KNEW that was it,,,,,,,,,he looked alot like my Brutus Beefcake, and had that sweet personality, 2 years old, just the age Brutus was when I adopted HIM.
I told myself I was going to get a totally different looking cat so I wouldn't 'compare' the new cat to Brutus in my head. But seeing Tigger, I adopted him immediately. He has already made himself at home, and has slept right by me every night. I didn't think I could love a cat again as much as I loved Brutus, but there is alot of love needed in the world, and I have opened my heart to this cat who has been through alot, and he is a sweethear, and I think he and I will have a great many years together. I see him as his 'own person' with his own distinct personality. But I do think the spirit of Brutus is also in there,,,,,,,,,,,,
so I wanted to share with you his pictures!
I feel happy again, and thank you all for everything, it really helped more than you realize.

You will not really love the cat more or less, just diferently and specially. I found this out when I was hired by Iggy. I certainly do not love Miles less, not a bit. They are all such special individuals, and when we lost a friend, we have a Love Suplus that is readily redirected and fills a void, in a way.

Welcome Tigger!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a darling cat. When we lost our Simba, we were afraid and guilty about loving another cat, but they steal your heart so fast. Now that we have Brody, we can't imagine life without him. Our other babies will always live on in our hearts, but there are so many others waiting to be loved and spoiled. Enjoy every minute with him.

Suzanne,

I can barely see through the tears of joy I have for you and Tigger! He is so strong and handsome! I know that feeling of "I'm not going to get another cat that reminds me of Brutus". My Jasper looks so much like Nickels when he was a baby. The picture you posted of Tigger looks identicle to Brutus down to the strong arm bands and pose!

May you have many many years of love and joy. I know Brutus helped you find Tigger. I'm sooooooo happy for both of you. Tigger is gorgeous and I know Brutus wouldn't have it any other way.

Please post more pictures when you are able and don't forget NOT to spoil Tigger LOL!

How wonderful! A beautiful story with a happy ending. When it is meant to be...it happens.

I love the picture. And don't worry about a look a like. I purposely wanted one that reminded me of my Little Guy and I get a special comfort when I look at the new boy, Lucky...sometimes I feel as though I have my Little Guy physically back again..when I see Lucky lying down looking out a window...etc.

Happiness and best wishes to you and Tigger. I am sure Brutus was guiding the two of you to each other. His love is still showing.

Click to view attachmentThank you all for your well wishes. I have to say again, this forum really helped me see things differently and it was such a huge help to me getting on with life without Brutus. I do think Brutus helped me find Tigger, and he is doing just great! I am going to get him another cat, my vet thinks he should have a companion since he is kind of used to that. So I'll have 2 cats soon, going to adopt another tomorrow. I've never had 2 before, so this should be fun!
Thank you all again, and here is some pictures of Tigger that were on his page at the Humane Society, such a pretty boy!!
