6 days ago I had to put my best friend to sleep, Brutus Beefcake. He has been by my side for almost 16 years. The last few months were bad, I administered meds (he did NOT like that!), I watched him slowly deteriorate, so now all thats in my mind are these last months and especially Monday aug. 25th when I felt it was the day for him to be put to rest, he seemed to tell me in his own way that he was tired.
I want to remember him how he was, vibrant, FAT, funny, full of himself. Very lazy, but once in a while a burst of energy with a catnip toy. He especially liked to run to try to pounce on the chipmunks running by the big glass door, only to whack his head on the glass, lol! He was too much.
God I loved him, with all my heart. I never thought this day would come where I'd be without him, the loneliness is unbearable. But writing some tributes has really helped. Here he was in his prime, and maybe you can see why I was in love,,,,,,,,

while i am sure these are all most appreciated, they are extremely bandwidth intensive and are slowing down access to the forum. people with less than optimal speed would wait forever for the page to load, and i have received word that some of their computers just can't handle the load. i've left one for example of your work, please do not embed these auto-play flash applets anywhere else on the site. youtube is fine, as long as they do not autoplay...as are the animated gifs and static graphics.
i have removed the embed code and provide instead links to the content. hope you understand.

Sorry about the loss of your friend. I went through the same thing, an ever slow but steady decline. Very sad. Hope you deal with it better than I have.
Those Christmas pictures of your boy are precious! I'm coming up soon on a 1 year "anniversary" of losing my boy, Little Guy, after just over 16 1/2 years...so I understand the feeling of something is really missing BIGTIME.
You Brutus looks like such a sweetheart. It is always sad when it is their time to go but we have 16 years of beautiful memories and that where Tributes helps so much.

What he liked to do. And if you want to post a letter to him here telling him how precious he is...we love to read words we know are written with the greatest love...for that's how our special ones are to us. i can see why you were in love. he looks precious. he must have made christmas very special. i try to remember my angel acorn in his healthy happy times too. i believe thats how our angels are right now, fully restored and happy. i know the loneliness. my heart is with you.
