Full Version: What Are Your New Babies Craving?!

After I first brought Nickels home and named him, he attacked a jar of baby pickels I was eating from. He grew out of this craving shortly thereafter, but for a couple of months Nickels loved pickles. Hence his nickname, Pickles.

Yesterday, I sliced open a beautiful avacado to eat. Frankee jumped up on my lap and you would have thought I was eating filet mignon the way he fought to get at the avacado. I quickly typed in "cat food avacado" and found it was safe to feed it to him. He devoured it. Frankees now 4 months old and that was about Nickels age when he craved strange things.

Last month Frankee developed a yen for canned peas. He knows the drawer we keep them in and we cannot open the drawer or a can of peas without Frankee's undivided attention. He must have peeeeeas pleeeeease!

Not sure when he'll turn into the finicky tabby cat he should be but, it's an utter delight to feed him strange foods he craves right now. He was left in the wild at 3 weeks old and had a bit of a feral side to him when we first got him when it came to feeding time. If it's safe for him, I try to give him the food he craves. Crazy little boy!

What are your new additions craving?

Simba's Daddy
Simba #1 liked lettuce. I was making a salad one day and dropped a piece on the floor. After a couple minutes I went to pick it up and it was gone and he was by my feet licking his chops and waiting for more. At first I thought maybe I didn't drop a piece like I thought but I threw another piece down just to see and sure enough he gobbled it up.

I was playing around with Simba #2 the other day and threw a mini marshmallow at him. I was surprised to see him eat it after it hit him. Now whenever he hears me opening the bag when making hot cocoa he comes running. I don't give him any though because I am not sure if they are safe to feed to a cat. So I subst*itute the marshmallows with cat treats.

He also like the roast beef from Arbys. I can always tell when he's got Arbys on the brain because he has that little red thing hovering over the top of his head. biggrin.gif

Maybe they should pass a law for kitties being able to frequent salad bars! Now Simba, would that be iceburg or ceaser salad? Toppings? "Yes, we do have anchovie dressing".

I see you were playing, "Get off that counter or I'll hit you with a marshmellow!" What an insult when the ammunition is a favorite treat! Too funny!

My Butch LOVED avacado, guess some cats do. He liked cantalope even better. I found him one day on the table with a cantalope, trying to figure out how to get into it. (He knew he wasn't supposed to be on the table).

Majik is a nut, nut. We have some fancy almonds he just loves, can't open the can without a cat there for his share. We don't let him have much, but I think he'd eat a lot if we let him. As it is about 1/2 an almond a day is all he gets.

As a tiny kitten Majik loved peanut butter. Again didn't let him have much but boy did he love it. Not so much now. He will also beg for and eat a cashew. I never saw another cat that liked nuts.
