"Not the least hard thing to bear when they go from us, these quiet friends, is that they carry away with them so many years of our own lives..."

John Galworthy

My freind dropped a gift in my door last night - lovely dogs and memorable quotes, a sweet little book.

I'm still holding vigil in the ICU, so I've not been visiting as frequently as I'd like..
Thinking of you all during this holiday, and wishing you peace and wonderful memories of your four legged friends...

Best, Sharon

Hi Sharon,
The quote you shared really hit home....it's exactly what I have been struggling with, the loss of so much time...we lost our boy last Christmas morning...06, and I am not looking forward to the 1 yr anniversary....one of the many difficulties for me is that he was was with us for 14 1/2 yrs, it really is a huge amt of time in your life, of course he was so sick in the end, but he has many healthy years.... it was so painful to watch him go downhill as he did, as you know, no one can tell you how its going to go, and we just didn't know how his end would be, and it wasn't good, he was so sick..anyway, I appreciate the thoughts, always good when others feel the same.
It sounds like you are in a bad place, I hope the crisis passes and you and your loved ones are comforted and at peace...take care, Tory, Hrudey and Fuzzies's Momma, & new baby Auggie's momma.

Hugs Sharon, at this difficult time of year. I loved and really could relate to that quote
