well i havent been here in a while, not that havent wanted to be here..life has just gotten so busy for my family i have hardly any time to just breathe...

but i find myself here again...with heartache...

my sister in laws pup sady lady a 7 yr old black lab..passed away yesterday.
i am devastated. i have been crying all night and day.
i was her auntie..aww sadie girl..auntie misses you so much...

she stopped eating and drinking sunday night...monday the same thing and even tuesday morning. after much urging i told my sister in law to call the vet because for sadie not to eat...well something is up..
so she called. brought her in and they did an xray. revealed a mass on her spleen the size of a very large grapefruit. with fluid filling her chest and belly...(turns out that was blood).

they did emergency exploratory surgery..and when they got in there she was filled from top to bottom with cancer (hemangiocarcinoma). the most aggressive fast moving cancer. my sister in law opted to not wake her from the surgery and had her pts right there. she didnt want her to suffer. but now we are all suffering her loss... she did the right thing to put her to sleep. she is free from pain and suffering. althought the vt assured all of us that she was not in pain at the time, you cant help but wonder if she held it all together not to upset anyone...sadie was like that. she was so aware of how you felt. she had no symptoms until sunday night.. this is how fast it came on...

poor sadie girl. she is so loved by everyone. sweetest doggie in the world.
we miss you sadie... auntie loves you....

I'm so sorry, Michelle. I know the right thing was done to spare Sadie the pain and suffering but now you and Sadies Mom and dad have to endure your own suffering. Sadie looked like such a sweet dog.

I am sorry about Sadie. We are so helpless against cancer. I lost 2 of my 3 cats to that and one beautiful Silver and Black female German Shepherd. I wish you and Sadie's Mom and Dad peace in this time of suffering. It is always the right thing to do to let a friend go vs suffering and no cure but that thought does not make anything easier..except it is better to remember that than to question anything which winds up making everyone feel worse.

The picture is precious as I am sure Sadie was also. Take Care.

I find myself in tears these days. I am so sorry for Sadie and you and all who will miss her. Her story is so very close to my Annie's (her fluid filled cancerous body and sudden onset of symptoms, then the sudden loss!!) How devastating this sorrow is. I will think you you and your Sadie along with the other lost friends.

I am sorry,
Annie's mommy

Hi Sadies Auntie,

I'm so sorry for the loss of Sadie. It not only brings fresh greif but returns the greif of those past loves that have gone on before.

My heart aches for you and Sadie. I can tell from both of the faces in the pictures you have posted....they were both very happy content babies.

Christmas eve....I will be outside with candles, on my knees, in prayer for our animals....I would love it if we could hold a special candle service on Christmas eve...Do you know how we could go about organizing that?

Aspen and Pepe's Dad.
