I know this is a pet loss forum but our new kitten was named after our best friend, Frank Leon Sweet, a Vietnam Vet Helicopter Pilot that has just lost his battle with cancer. The very best friend anyone could ever be blessed with. He cried with us when we lost our precious Nickels. Nickels would sit in his lap when we visited and they were so very close.

When he found out he had terminal cancer he point blank asked us, who do you want me to say hi to when I leave here? We talked about the family and friends that had passed and we spoke of Nickels. He said he would watch over him until we joined that realm. That was such a comfort.

I've posted pictures under "New Beginnings" with Frank and Frankees story. The picture that I have posted was taken the day after we received the horrifying news that Frank only had a short time left. He was always so brave and saved so many on the battlefields in Vietnam, even going against orders to do so by flying his helicopter into some terrible conditions. He never showed any fear of dying, even in his final moments. He loved life and smiled and comforted all of us. We will never ever forget you Frank and Thank You for teaching us about what is important in life. We Love You! It was an honor to call you Friend.

I keep checking in but it has been such a very hard time. I don't stop praying for each and every one of you that has lost your babies. Welcome, you have come to a place where you will be comforted and understood.

God Bless each and every one of you.

Michelle

My sympathies dear Nickels, know that your best friend is with you still. Here are a few lines from a beautiful poem, for you and for Frank Leon Sweet

"They that love beyond the world cannot be separated from it.
Death cannot kill what never dies.
Nor can spirits ever be divided, that love and live in the same divine principle, the root and record of their friendship.
If absence be not death, neither is theirs.
Death is but crossing the world, as friends do the seas;
They live in one another still."

That little Frankee is the most precious little furbaby I've ever seen and it looks like he was a great comfort to your friend Frank. You can't help to look at that photo of the two of them and not smile. My sympathy on the lost of your best friend.
