OK...so I got a new video edit program and I wanted to try it out on the kits. Since Rocket and Angel are so playful with each other I thought it would be a good place to start. Just click on the picture and it should play.........

Nice idea except I can't see your pictures. I don't understand what type of pictures these are or what program is needed to view them. Maybe others have more luck.
Take care.

nice job, the house genre music really added to the fight concept. the dryer tubing looks like a great place to play...why don't they make those for humans
for those trying to play, this is a flv file which is Adobe Flash video. xrayspex correct me if i am wrong, but that should be a plugin that comes with the popular web browsers. if you want to download and install the latest Flash plugin/player,

John, your videos are always SUCH a joy to watch! (wish I even knew how to work those programs myself.....one day I'll find out) Angel and Rocket are such a hoot!

LOVE the dryer vent set-up, with the hidey-box, too. Yup....you need to get a human-sized tube for yourself as well, so you can join in the merriment! I'm SERIOUS!

Why deprive yourself of one of the greatest sources of joy around? ~~~
PLAYTIME!!!YEAH!!!

These guys are so cute, and play so well together! Great video, thanks for it. It must be fun to have a couple that like to play together, I remember you told us that Chase and Abigail were more likely to fight.

Thanks to all...It was fun to make. I needed that diversion......
....and Lori you are right! Abigail was a loner. "Humans only please". Abigail would not tolerate ANY other animal especially another ferret. Chase was forced to endure her life without a "buddy". Sometimes you just can't put ferrets together. I also belong to a ferret society on line forum and they have ferrets there like my Abigail that you cannot get to mingle with their own kind. The only animal she ever played with and loved (and quite roughlty I might add) was my big male cat, Piper. Piper still today loves ferrets but Angel & Rocket are not accepting of him...they are a group unto their own......
....why can't they all just play in a great big dryer tube together?

Pfff I don't know. It would make life so much more fun for us and them. My cats don't even get along that well. Ah well, I will picture your ferrets and add Piper, what a hoot!

John,
What an adorable video! Thay are so cute! My cousin had two ferrets named Pebbles and BamBam when I was younger and we had so much fun with them. If there is anything to help you out of the funk of grieving, it's watching those two new little souls having a great time with each other. Thank you.

John: I saw this picture in my local paper and thought of you. You have shown such love for these beautiful special friends that I thought this picture might make you smile for she does look adorable! It is the SPCA so you know she will be taken care of until she finds a home..Her name is Snowy..it says she is 6 years old and spayed and occasionally gives "love Bites" so is best with an experienced and committed owner. I thought this New beginnings section is the place to show her to you cause this is the area people can smile again. I hope you don't mind me showing you her. I couldn't get her out of my head when I thought about you and Chase. I knew you'd appreciate the adorable look I see here. A perfect name. You have probably seen white ones since you said you belong to a ferret online forum and probably see lots of pictures. I thought about this picture and you so much I just had to go find the picture before it got thrown out and scan the photo so I could put it here for you to see.
I love watching your "family" play. They can keep one busy, can't they? (smile)

SHE IS GORGEOUS!!!!.
Ferrets communicate to their "ferret friends" through nipping. It is the way of things in the ferret world. When they are young they can bite pretty hard. They do not understand that humans do not have the thick skin that their brothers and sisters do. They can be taught though through gentle handling, love and understanding of the breed. They are creatures that are capable of much joy in the right hands. The phrase "gentle handling means gentle ferrets" is generally what makes a happy well behaved ferret. My wife & I have "good biting skills" with this kind of animal. Ocassionally Rocket & Angel will get over-excited in play and a "sharp nip" will occur. This is by no means aggressive and once the creature realizes it has commited the act it will stop immediately. You must be understanding of their behavior. These creatures are definitely not for everyone, but they are for me. I believe all of us as Gaurdians of Gods creatures each have a different job to do when it comes to caring for that which cannot care for itself. That is how all types of creatures can be looked after.

See...I learned something new today. Now I can talk about "love bites" and ferrets.
Glad you enjoyed seeing her. This SPCA is only a few blocks away but I haven't been ready to go there yet.
Thanks for the lesson.

They are so darn cute!!! Thanks for sharing that with us! It's an awesome video.
I just now thought of this, it's been many years .......in my last year of college in speech class, a woman got up & spoke of a little creature who changed her life. He was a quiet little fellow who moved into her dorm with her & found missing socks and makeup brushes for her and her roommates. She spent her entire time allowance talking about this little companion. Then, at the end of her speech, she opened her bookbag & out popped this adorable little ferret, and as she introduced him to everyone, the room erupted in laughter and conversation. It was one of the best moments I remember from my college days.
I just wanted to share that memory with you.
Take care,
Kim

I am glad you had a "positive" ferret experience. There are many myths surrounding these beautiful creatures that give it a "bad rap". We take ours out into the public eye (pet smart, superpet that sort of thing) and give them wide spread publicity in an atempt to dispell the many tall tales that surround these wonderful animals. People are very suprised when they meet them if they have never met a ferret before......and the ferrets...well...they love everybody they meet............

John: I remembered you like that picture of Snowy I posted here for you to see. She was in the paper being at the local SPCA. Thought you would like to hear what today's paper noted:
Snow-White Ferret finds a home in time for Holidays. The SPCA reported that Snowy the ferret went home with a new family that fell in love with her after seeing her in the Nov. 13 edition of the View.
How's that for nice Holidays type News? Makes you feel warm inside. She found a home...looking at that picture, we can see why. They post dogs and cats and others each week in the paper .....a nice way to get people's attention, isn't it?
Doesn't it kind of just "make your day?"
Take Care.

You know that is very reminiscent of how we encounterded Angel. After Abigail died and losing two ferrets that close to each other me and my wife vowed never to get another. We were red eyed for weeks. Nine months later, at Christmas no less, Marilyns brother called us up and asked if we would take "snow white ferret" from a family that was surrendering her. That was almost 1 year ago. Angel is a fat healthy 2 & 1/2 year old that loves her mommy & daddy. I am glad to here that Snowy found a home

Here is a picture of Angel...

I am so glad to hear about Angel and your new family. Honestly, that picture made me laugh....Angel is just so darn cute! There is an expression there I haven't figured out exactly but I'm sure you could put words to that look.
The nice thing about our SPCA is it is a no-kill shelter so the pictures in our local paper of ones waiting for adoption....we know they will be taken care of until a home is found.
I guess some other States SPCA may not be that way. I hoped all were.
But Snowy and Angel have good homes.....that's 2 points for the good side!
