It has been almost 2 weeks since Jorie died. She is buried in the back yard under the edge of some shrubs where she gets shade in the morning and sunshine in the afternoon because she loved to lay in the window with the sun shining through it. Heather and I are still grieving and missing her terribly in our own way. Heather is often found laying behind a chair where Jorie layed during the last few days she was at home. Me.. I still walk in the house and call her name. I also even cry at times and am very sensitive about talking about Jorie still. Good news.... Hopefully after Thanksgiving we are adding a new kitty to the house. I am waiting to allow Heather and I to spend some time just us before adding a new addition. I hope and pray that all of you have a very Blessed Thanksgiving unsure.gif

Thank you for the uplifting post. The idea that you will soon be getting another special friend is so good to hear. I know from past experience that helps tremendously. We wish you a good Thanksgiving and when and if you ever feel like talking about Jorie and/or Heather and your new one, we are here to listen.

There is a wonderful section in the forum called New Beginnings and also one to post a Tribute. It has helped me to see the ways people cope with their sadness. And, of course, the section you are in now.

I think it is also special that you have decided you and Heather will spend time together remembering Jorie. You love Jorie, you always have and always will. You will never forget her and you will never replace her; she is in your heart to stay.

Your new friend will help to create new memories. I wouldn't be surprised if someday while watching the new one do something that you would find yourself thinking "Jorie would have been watching you do that" ..and smile to yourself.

We are here if you need us. Take Care............

fatcat...we all send our prayers and hugs to you. You have come to the right place to talk about Jorie.
We are 3 weeks out from losing our little Orion. The days are going by with less grief and more memories that can still bring tears and lots of smiles. Whereas I was crying non-stop from norning to night in the first week, now I have more hours of remembering Orion with love and laughter. It does get *easier* to talk about our beautiful furry friends and we can remember more easily without the excruciating, dark pain when we first lost them. My husband and I still have 3 other kitties and we are talking of finding a kitten or 2 after the first of the year. We will be gone at Christmas so we don't want to bring in new kittens and then have to leave them for a while at the holidays. We will know when we find the right one or ones. smile.gif I want two so they can torture our naughty Tinkerbell who likes to attack all the other cats. Kittens would drive her bonkers! biggrin.gif laugh.gif And kittens would make the house more lively as well. I am thinking of you and wishing you the peace that comes with time. When you feel you want to, please post some pictures of Jorie and stories of your time with Jorie. We are here to give you all the love and support we can. We have shoulders to cry on and arms to hug you.
Bless you for wanting to bring another beautiful furperson into your home.
Hugs!

Yes and I will post her picture.. but can't even look at it right now. I did post a tribute to her on Rainbow Bridge. I am waiting til after Thanksgiving for the same reason.. we need the time to cope and get use to Jorie not being here before bringing in a new kitty. It is amazing how fast they attach themselves to our hearts wub.gif wub.gif Jorie was immediate.. Heather it took a little coaxing for the hubby to talk me into her. But they all are to me. Thanks for the prayers..
