I thought I would start a new thread, since the other one was getting so long! Here are some pictures taken yesterday.

First is Riley and Akasha (foster) sitting in the bedroom window. They will get close to eachother like this, but really don't like eachother and fight a lot!

Here is Riley playing on his new catnip mat that he loves so much. The barbie is his also, lol. My bf thought it would be funny to buy it for him. He drags it around by its hair and chews on the feet



Here is Riley trying to chase Akasha away from the old catnip mat. He wants them both for himself, little greedy guy!



She gave up and jumped in her usual spot on the back of the couch.



Here's what too much catnip does to a boy.... LOL



Just look at that belly! its a trap though, we call it the "tummy trap". He sprawls out like that, looking all inviting and the minute you touch his tummy, he attacks!

You asked once about the male black cats. My husband said years ago he was told by others that the most friendly cat was a male black cat. So you have lots to enjoy!

For what it is worth..you mention they may fight a little. You also mention a catnip rug. I don't know about your boys but years ago I found out my kittens and catnip didn't mix. They loved it but then they would act crazy and attack each other. So I made sure no scratching post, etc. had catnip...not easy to do. But its absence made a big difference in their reaction to each other. May not apply for yours. It may not be noticed when you have 1 cat by himself as they have no one to jump on but originally my yard had a 5 kitten litter of all black kitties and all of them acted the same way.

Anyway, they are beautiful and I want to hug both of them. I see Alley and I see Little Guy in their features. But I'm sure their personalities are quite different.

Akasha is a foster kitty. She's up for adoption through the rescue I volunteer with. She is staying with me until she finds a permanent home, then I may take in another foster kitty. She was at the kill pound, so giving her a temp home kept her from being pts for no good reason.

Its hard not to get attached, but she is such a standoffish kitty, that she almost helps by not being close. She is not the kitty meant to be my permanent "2nd" kitty, but her perfect home is out there somewhere and she will find it sooner or later.

Maybe fostering is something you and your husband could consider until you are ready to adopt? There are always kitties in need of temp homes.

It is a thought. today I have to go to the doctor to see the results of all my digestive tests (I think it has to do with Little Guy). Anyway, I showed my husband all these pictures you put up and he looked at me and said..you ARE going to the doctor today and not to the shelter? I said Yes but the question made me laugh.
Keep up the pictures. I'll have to ask our local SPCA shelter if they also have foster care to avoid the pts. I just assumed it was cause they didn't have room for all they wanted to help.

Wow these pictures are so wonderful. Both kitties are just gorgeous. Riley is getting so big! They grow up so darn fast. I love the tummy picutres.

Akasha was finally adopted! She went to her new home on Saturday. I just got an update and she is doing wonderful. Now I have to work on finding a home for my current foster Johnny Cash.

That is wonderful news. I am so glad to hear about the adoption. Now...it's Johnny's turn..

and if you have time, maybe give us an update on Riley. He is truly a gorgeous baby.

I do have some new pictures of Riley but haven't got them downloaded from my camera yet. I'll do that soon and post them for you!

Awww...these black Tiffany cats SO remind me of Miles in her better days. They can look so dignified..then suddenly...!
