She's all yours now. Lord. She's the perfect natural heeler...and she'll get right under your feet . so don't step on her. She'll never leave you or deny you...but she doesn't like to be picked up, unless she thinks its her idea.
Give her a broad pasture, just a little wild, full of tough and wiley sheep and she'll show you her mettle and make you proud you made her. When you see that sheltie smile of satisfaction you will understand why we miss her so.
Please send her to fetch me when its my turn...no need to trouble angels of the grander sort. Just send your littlest shepherd. the four-legged one ...she's right there under your feet.

Well, I'm crying. My heart goes out to you. I'm sure God will send your sweet Sheltie to meet you when it's your turn, and to take you along to where you're supposed to go. Until she comes to herd you, may she have many other heavenly beings to practice on and play with!

What a beautiful tribute, how you miss your little sheperd. Love stays with you and with her, the flames will rise again but that wait gnaws at our heart.

Me too, when it's time, if I see Yukon I will just fly out there to be with them. Hugs, those tears are still falling.

An absolutely beautiful post about your baby! We feel your pain and yes, your hope that there is a reunion in the future. After all, what would Heaven be if our babies were not there with us? Your post "touched" many here. Take Care.

Dayna,
In my lifetime, I have had both dogs and cats and each one was unique. The last one I lost was in Sept of 07, Little Guy, and
it was through grieving for him I discovered this forum.
Of course I remember my canine beauties very well...there were wonderful sweethearts. When I first joined here in the early part of November....I remembered reading the most beautiful tribute to a dog I have ever read. I remembered thinking from time to time I should look it up and read it again and finally the other day I did a search on the word "angel" because that's all I remembered was that it was something about sending an angel. Well, it was this topic, it was your post, and it was your post starting this topic, dated
October 31, 2007.
I couldn't remember which section it was in or who wrote it but I remembered it was so beautiful that I wanted to find it and save the words to my special paper where I put down things I have read in this forum that helps me when grieving, knowing that such precious words that make such an impression can also help others.
Since I read this last year, we have communicated on topics from time to time and I know you are a fantastic "mom" to your special ones so when I "found" this special tribute again...although it did surprise me that I have spoken to the author on many occasions and not known it was you...but then when I saw it was you, I was not surprised at that fact and that produced a smile.
And so, before I forget to tell you how much I loved what you wrote about Sadie and that what a perfect thing to say about sending an angel.....that part alone we all could easily say about our own angels taken from us. I wanted to be sure and write you to tell you so.
--------------------------------
Such a wonderful, beautiful thing to say and I will quote it here:
Please send her to fetch me when its my turn...no need to trouble angels of the grander sort. Just send your littlest shepherd. the four-legged one ...she's right there under your feet.
--------------------------------
It still makes me cry reading it. Thank you , Dayna, for sharing these beautiful words with us.

Dayna.........I have to agree with Judy. This is the most beautifully written testimony of just how strong your faith is. Since I didn't start coming here until January of this year, I had never read it before. I'm glad Judy looked back and found it so I could read it too.
Hugs to you my dear friend. I am so happy to have met you.
Much love to you and all your family,

Beth and Judy,
Thanks to you both for your continued kindness and for all the trouble you take in putting so much of yourselves in every post. AS much as i wish none of us had needed this forum. I'm so thankful it is here for us, and for the opportunity to communicate with you.
As for my little Sadie... she well deserves any possible tribute I could give, as I know Little Guy, and Goliath, and all our babies do.

Judy,
Thanks for thinking of my little sheep-dog.

Her whole being was about keeping things rounded up, and not going astray. If her legacy is to keep sad hearts from straying into despair, then that is ideally suited for her.

I was just in the D&D forum reading about one who had lost her best friend within the last few days and as I was trying to think of words of comfort...your topic here jumped back into my mind and I came here to copy the link so I could post it to the new member in my reply there and while I was here...I thought....it is time again to bring this to the top of the page here as since it was last read..we have had many new members come here with their losses. I felt they would understand your words about reuniting with your Sadie...as they too look forward to that special time.
Your first post here about Sadie is so very precious....it just should never be forgotten...I think your words can be felt by others as an echo of how they feel also about their best friends. Sometimes our mind is so full of thoughts, pulling us one way or another, when one can come here and read what you said.....being said so simply and beautifully yet with such meaning and emotion and love that others can relate so well to what you have said.
It is because of our losses that we found this forum and it is that loss that guides us to try and help others cope by what we have learned over time.
So, yes, Sadie does have a legacy here forever, a way of touching others so they realize they are not alone in their loss and also in their hope of reuniting with that very special one (and truly all the ones that have been in our lives). What a wonderful "party" that would be. I can smile imagining it.
Sadie is a very special girl and we can see how easy it is for her to be loved and when I read what you said here...I can almost feel her spirit smiling (dogs do smile, you know..I have seen that

).
And, I am sure she is taking special care of BK, the newest Angel.
Hugs to you and all your sweethearts...if we knew them, we'd hug them too! But right now we can send them our hugs. They understand. Angels understand everything.

i just read this whole thing, backwards..Everyone was seemed pretty blown away by your topic. It was like opening up a package. What is it?, the aniticipation, the curiosity, and then I read what everyone else had. Wow, that was worth the wait, I was blown away to..shed lots of tears too.
Thanks Judy for bringing that back to the top...Ann
