Today (04 September) would have been the 20th anniversary of my being adopted by my "surrogate son", Precious Adorable. At the time I thought he was a girl -- he was 31 days old, the fourth of seven kittens born to mom Kim (chocolate point Siamese) and dad Max (black Himalayan). Where Precious got all of that white fur, I don't know!! But Precious was promised to me and he picked me to be his Mum. He was MUCH too pretty to be a boy, but I found that out a few months later (he had a condition known as cryptorchidism, where one testicle decends and the other is stuck inside the body). He grew from a cute kitten to a beautiful cat in no time and was the light of my life for the next 19 years. He actually still is! I can still feel his presence very strongly and keep his urn by my bed. It gets kissed and hugged constantly. Even though they are ashes, they are still part of him and that is very comforting. Cats DO stay with you long after they are physically gone. As I have pointed out in other posts, Precious still gives me signs and won't let me forget the bond we still share. Patches, Tiger/Tigger and Princey are very respectful of that!
God bless my sweet angel...I love him so! biggrin.gif
