Full Version: In Praise Of Luba's Vet

Steph
I have gone through a brief period during which I was angry with Luba's 2 ( a mid-week and a weekend vet), for not giving me a chance to say goodbey to her. That isn't fair to the vets becasue they did stabilize her, and were doing their best to get her healthy. It's not their fault her heart stopped.

I received another letter from the local Veterninary College ( I got a similar one last week on behalf of a neighbour). Apparently Luba's vet's have also made a donation in her name

They haven't even sent me the bill, and it's been three and a half weeks. They have given me telephone councelling on numerous occaisions, and have shared stories of the losses of their own pets.

It's like my mother said: Luba's time was up. Some people have visible illness, like cancer, but Luba was sick silently. There are small signals in retrospect, but nothing signified an illness. It simply looked as though she was slowing down. To lay blame is pointless.

Thanks to her vet's for being kind to her and to me.
