I don't know why this issue is affecting me so much, but I can't stand the thought that when 2007 comes, my dog will have died "last year." I just feel like he is becoming like the dogs of my childhood and youth--that is, my dog that I had "years ago." I don't want him to become a past memory from years ago. Does anyone feel this way too, or am I just strange?

boo boo's mom, no you are not strange, i feel the same way like i am leaving both my girls in 2006.
when my best friend died years ago in 1987, i had a hard time going into 1988 for fear of leaving her in 87. wierd as it sounds its how i feel and felt. i feel the same way about my cats(my girls).. its a really odd haevy feeling. you are not alone. i do not relish 2007 coming up int the next few weeks at all..i'll be thinking of you

I'll second that! Since a new year is considered to be some sort of "fresh start", I think we recoil against the whole idea, cuz what we want is the PAST, not the future...the future without our furchildren in it. I'm afraid that NY's will be at least as hard as Christmas Eve and Day was. The whole idea is making me sick also.

Days, months and years go by so fast now! I can hardly believe this year is almost out. So much has happened and so much has yet to happen. I only hope 2007 will be so much better and brighter than 2006. I wish that for everyone here, and that a new year will mean new beginnings for many of us. We are leaving so much behind with 2006...don't you wish you could turn back time for just a year or two? I do. I will always miss every pet I've ever lost to death, but I know all of us will be reunited someday. Not now, but later on!
