Several days ago I noticed my 14 yr. old cat's right eye was infected. I took her to the Vet and found out that the "infection" was actually a tumour that would eventually rupture her eye. The alternative was surgery where her eye would be removed. She also has glaucoma in her other eye and the Vet thinks she is almost blind. I am so utterly devasted I can barely function. I know the time will come when I have to make the decision to end her life, and I just can't bare the inevitable. Also, the thought of my cat being almost blind now saddens me to tears. She has also lost a lot of weight. I have made her as comfortable as possible, and cater to her every need now. Right now she is in now pain, and is not hiding, just sleeping a lot. I've been looking into naturopathic/holistic approaches to possibly shrink the tumour. Has anyone had any success in this area? Or perhaps a special diet? I would appreciate hearing from others who have had cats who have had this condition so I can properly prepare. I need support, I honestly don't know how I'm going to go to work everyday and function, my heart and soul are breaking and hurting every time I look at my poor cat. Thank you to anyone who can help put my heart at ease.

All I can do is offer my sympathies. We were faced on Friday night with our Jemima being sick. The most they could do for her was to give her possibly 48 hours of relief. We made the decision to put her to sleep. We didn't want her to suffer any longer. That's the way we looked at it. We're also looking at it we had 15 years with her.
