I don't know where to start. My cat, BOOTS, was hit by car this morning and since I've found him I've been in despair. He was a 4 yo black cat with four white feet. It is so hard to think of all the memories I have. Everytime I think that he's not going to be waiting for me when I get home from work, I just breakdown. I'm a tough guy, 30years old and cry like a schoolgirl when I think he won't be purring next to me or in my lap. He was such a good cat. He would let anybody pick him up, even little kids and never get defensive. He was notorious for taking someone's sit right after they got up, I think he just wanted to be picked up and loved. He loved catnip and would come from anywhere in the house when he heard the bag. I'm going to bury him with his catnip and his favorite toy in a little toy box I've had since I was a boy. I'm going to miss him so much!!! I will nver forget him. I'll love him forever!!!!

You go right ahead and carry on crying like a girl or like a man, this site has many men that have had their hearts broken, in fact youll find the main man who runs this site started it because he was heart broken when he lost Tribble his cat.

You can feel safe here, tell us your story, believe me we wont think you girlish smile.gif

I'm terribly sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Boots. Don't worry about crying. I'm a 47 year old ex-police officer and I cry when I think about my lost loved ones. I also cry when I read the posts on this forum. I'm not ashamed and neither should you be. I'm more worried about those who do not cry at the loss of one of these beloved creatures. It's akin to losing a child. Boots will live in your heart and in your memories. One day he will excitedly tell his friends at Rainbow Bridge, "Gotta go guys, there comes Dad ! "
God Bless You,
Steve

Thanks everyone for your condolences. It gets a little easier everyday, but I still thinkof him all the time. I plan on getting another cat just like him. I can only hope that the new cat will be just as awesome as Boots was. Thanks again.

you know it, and the tears could have filled a small swimming pool. crying is part of the process, and it helps cleanse the soul.

I'm sorry for the loss of your precious kitty. Just keep crying whenever you feel like you need to, just like everybody here says. It seems to be what really helps!!!

I am so sorry to hear about your sweet cat. I can understand completely how much you miss him as I too had a little black cat that was taken from us on Good Friday of 2003. I'll never forget our little Annie Cat. It was such a horrible thing to go through. At least you had a body to bury. My wife and I, unfortunately, did not. We did purchase a little grave marker for her and placed it in our pet cemetery. We go there often just to look at her marker and think of how wonderful it was to have her in our lives. We have five other beautiful, precious "furballs" and each certainly has his/ her own personality but little Annie was a gem among gems. It's been over three years now and I get teary-eyed thinking about her. You might want to purchase a grave marker for your cat as well. I really think it does help with the grieving process. You go right ahead and cry all you want. They are, after all, a part of your life and now a part of your life is gone but will never be forgotten.
