I have to put my best friend to sleep because he defended himself. I can't stop this pain in my chest , I can't catch my breath or see through my tears.

It wasn't his fault he did what any dog would do when kicked so hard you fall to the ground.

on My property my buddy was properly restrained the kid got 4 stitches on his thigh my baby will lose his life.

He has been deemed dangerous and no one will hear my pleas.

I try to act like nothing is wrong because for the next 7 days he has to be with me waiting just so I can keep them from cutting off his head.

He knows somethings not right though he won't leave my side licking away my tears when I remember what has to happen.

I need some help my husband and kids don't understand because he was as close to my heart as them sometimes even closer never questioning and completely unconditional love

From the day I adopted him out of a terrible shelter where he was covered in poo and very sickly to the beautiful Dog he is today.

I don't know how I am going to get through that day or any day from now on.

The worst part is this kid is my sons friend and I still have to see him even after this happened the kid called and asked to come over.

I feel there is no Justice left in this world......

I have never heard of a dog having to be euthanized because of an incident like this....has it happenned on other occasions? The only reason they would cut a dog's head off is to send it to be tested for rabies...can't you just show them proof of your dogs vaccinations? If that is even their concern, I can't believe they are letting you do the quarantine at home...that's illegal?!? The way they are handling this seems very strange to me...something just isn't right here! I would get a lawyer if I were you...you still may be able to save your dog!

In the midst of the chaos when the neighbor came over to tell what he saw he acted out how the kid had kicked my dog the sheriff had us have the dog out so he could see his condition the guy was close enough that my dog got scared and lunged forward.

The sheriff said because it amounted to 2 incidents of aggression we had no choice but to put him down.

I presented all his paper work as a matter of fact he had just had his rabies booster 3 weeks prior the cop didn't seem to care.

He also told us if we didn't quarinteen him here we would face all the extra cost if the county did it.

I have thought about contacting a lawyer this is the first time my Dog has ever done this and I think it was out of sheer terror of the days events.

I think I will be on the losing end of the stick my state is a strict liabilty state.

Believe me this eating me up looking at him and knowing whats coming and knowing he doesn't deserve this.
