I know exactly what you're going through. Heart disease unexpectedly stole my baby away six months ago. Late at night the morning before he passed I called our local emergency vet for advice and guidance in keeping him as comfortable as possible. She let me use her as a sounding board for awhile too, which I really appreciated. Just knowing I was doing everything I could along with giving him much love helped me cope somewhat. Also, talking or writing out your feelings to others that care (or just for yourself) may provide immeasurable comfort. My thoughts are with you.
Take care,

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I've heard often that it's sometimes easier to be the one who's sick than the one having to watch helplessly. But you are doing everything to make your loved one comfortable and you are being there. And that is everything.
My Sal was sick for three months. I had to let him go one week ago today. I miss him terribly but I know that he is resting now and I know that I was there for him as much as I could be. And I know he still loves me.
Your baby loves you and is comforted by your presence. Stay strong for her and know that you are not alone, and that you will never be alone.

Hi, I am here for you, you are choosing to love your dear animal creature loved one, and you are continuing to choose to love her even when you have to give a very big personal sacrifice to do so. I feel compassion for you. I have no way to do the internet at my home, but I am willing to keep in touch with you as often as I can, in the times when I can do the internet other places. I had another elderly cat die around nine months of elder age with heart failure, and it was very difficult, sad, and painful, and took big courage to stay with her while she was dying. It took her a longer time to die than I thought it would, because she was so bodily strong for so many years. I welcome you to tell me what I can do to help you. I have no phone at my home either, or else I would welcome you to phone me. How is she now? Cooler air has more oxygen in it, per volume, than warmer air, so cooler air would be better for her, as long as it is not too cold. She will tell you what she wants. Do you have a friend or family person there with you, I hope? The time must feel like an eternally long time. I am willing to help. Maureen
