I lost my beautiful little kitten Sycther today. We had to put him down because he had a brain tumour but I feel like so heartbroken and I miss him so much that sometimes it feels unbearable.

Valeisha,

Isn't it amazing, that even though we may have only been with our friends for even a short time, as you have been with your kitten, how deeply our bond of love for them has grown, and how much they will be missed. It's like losing your child before they're even a year old. They give you so much love and happiness right from the beginning, and then something happens, and they're gone.

We all share in your grief today. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I'm sure that you will find some comfort in the posts by others here, as we continue to help each other heal from the trauma of losing the ones we love so much.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you today, and every day.

Valeisha, I'm so sorry about your loss!!! sad.gif

Sycther and you were lucky to find each other and share the love that you did. And, Sycther is okay now -- you don't have to worry about him. I have no doubt that he is in complete bliss and is not aware of the physical/emotional pain of being separated from you, because his spirit is in the realm where there's no sense of that separation. To him, it will seem like an instant before you will be joining him (when it's your time).

But in the meantime you are in such pain. sad.gif I'm glad you found this site. Please come here often and let us know how you are doing. It gets easier, and we're all in this together and will help you.

God bless,

Kathy

I am so very sorry for your loss.

I was going to say a few things, but when I read Darrell and Holly's response, that pretty much sums up my feelings. It doesn't matter if it is 15 minutes, 15 days or 15 years - these wonderful, precious personalities we call pets are so compatible to us that we instantly surrender our hearts to them. They become perpetual children to us - children because they rely on us for everything, food, water, shelter, etc. - and perpetual, because they never grow up and leave the nest. When we take on a pet, we know it is for life, however long that may be - and their passing is very difficult for us.

God bless you during this difficult time.
