My sonic left this world yesterday. I miss him so much. He was only 7 months old, so it was a shock casue it was unexpected. A great kitty. My boyfriend and I got him so I would have some company while my boyfirend was away on active duty. I know I only had him for a few months, but the pain is great. I can't stop crying. Does it ever get eaiser?

I am in the same situation as you, I just lost my baby Smokey yesterday morning. I was crying non stop yesterday at work, home everywhere. Today I woke up expecting him to be at the end of my bed or curled up next to me and he is not. I had him for 14 years so it is very tough on me, no one seems to understand, so that is why I looked for a site like this to deal with the pain. So far it has helped a little bit, everyone on here is nice and compassionate and in the same situation. Maybe Smokey and Sonic are playing together now in heaven, that seems to be a comforting thought for me. Sonic knew he was loved, and Smokey knew I loved him greatly. Hopefully the pain will ease with time...

Hi Kris,

It doesn't matter if you had your furbaby for 14 years or 14 minutes. Once they've touched your heart the pain is suprisingly bad when they're gone.

Long story short... Yes. It does get better. But brace yourself for a bumpy ride.

I've got to run now. Late getting home from work. Please remember to eat properly and rest. Grief is hard work, you'll need the energy.
