Hi. I posted about losing my cat Lucy yesterday and since everyone was so sweet I thought I'd hit you guys up for some advice.
My cat Lucy and my dog Trinity were best friends. I think Trinity must've witnessed her horrible death and she ran up to the window and watched my husband bury her. I've kept her inside (she usually spends a lot of the day outside) and I've been lavishing treats and attention on her and shes acting okay but she has this sad look in her eyes.
The truth is, as much as I love my pets, I think they've not gotten quite as much attention from me since my 10 month old son has been born and now I'm pregnant again which makes it even harder for me to run around with them. Lucy is gone now and I feel so sick about it because her and Trinity kept eachother company when mom was knee deep in diapers and toys and them being so close (they were both babies when I got them, just months apart), I'm worried that Trinity is going to get depressed.
I'm months, maybe years away from being ready to get another cat. I will make an effort to spend extra time with Trinity. Any other suggestions?
Thanks
Scarlett

Scarlett, I may be off my rocker but I do believe that animals and young children can see more than we humans can. I am sure your pooch misses your cat, but I am even MORE sure that he/she can still SEE your cat at any time so that should be of comfort to you.
A friend of mine's dog passed away leaving behind her best buddy that she was with for about 15 years-the lady told me that the dog left behind was sad and lonely for a little while but got over it quickly.
My dog had a wonderful best friend who lives next door to us...she came to visit him on his last day of life and didn't come back to see us for at least a week after his death. Seeing her made me so sad because it reminded me of my dog, but we took her to his grave and told her that our Bobo was lying there. She sniffed it but didn't do much.
Since it just snowed, we found her footprints near his grave with a bit of dirt being put out of place-I have a feeling that she can sense he is buried there, but we are sorely worried she will try to dig him out, ESPECIALLY if she knows he is there.
I think animals can see and sense things greatly.
