I had a terrible situation where the vet tech dropped my sedated cat on the floor at the Crystal Lake Emergency Animal Hospital on Jan 22. It was great hearing the thunk of his head on the cement floor. Her only comment was he was on morphine so she was sure he didn't feel anything. No apologies from her or the doctor. He was being prepped for euthanasia so besides the fact that we were upset at the situation, we had to see him being treated to callously. It made us physically ill.
I live in NW Illinois and I cannot find anything on the web that details where I can report this unproffessional behavior. Seems like there is a black hole in ILL where I can write a letter or call someone. I tried my vet this morning but he's at a seminar for a week. Any ideas anyone?
We have been reliving this scenario over and over again in our heads and want to make sure no one ever has this happen to their beloved pet.

Try this site for Illinois:

http://www.idfpr.com/DPR/disciplinary.asp

You'll want to look at the Disciplinary Services menu on the right side of the page.

There's a form you can fill out and submit, or they have an address and phone number posted if you prefer to contact them that way.
