FEMA is deciding whether to allow evacuees to rescue their own and others' pets. Please call and pressure them into allowing this! How can that screwed up agency even debate such a thing! Call or email here:

Thank you for caring Margo, and for giving us the address.
Pray God they do allow people to go back in and rescue their pets. The alternative is too dreadful to think about.

I just sent an email pleading to allow these people the chance to rescue their pets. These people have already lost everything...they should at least have a chance to be reunited with their pets. It may be the only thing they have left. It's soooo sad to see these poor animals on TV. I wonder where all the cats are? I hate to think they didn't survive.

Unless they are just so scared that they hide when they hear people. I know my cats can really find good hiding places when they need to.

I wanted to thank you for your concern and urgency in addressing FEMA. I just finished sending them an email to echo what you have all said, "Please, let people in to rescue their pets and animals." As hard as it has been to watch the devastation for these people, I have been imagining the whole time, on how their furbabies were also affected. It has been nearly 4 months since I lost my beloved Cosmo, and there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of him and miss him. If any of Katrina's victims could be spared, at least that, I think it would help them. They have already been through so much trauma, losing a furbaby would be more than most of them could handle. When I began watching the hurricane coverage last week, and I saw the disaster that was taking place, I thanked God that my furbabies were safe here in NY with me and I hugged them and cried for all of those babies that were lost.
God Bless the victims of hurricane Katrina ( those with 2 legs, and those with 4 legs)
