Well everyone, here I go again. Through my grief, I have had a hard time coming up with the inspiration to write an original poem, song, or paragraph to help deal with loss. I have, however, heard many songs that have touched my heart and spoke to me about my feelings of losing Cosmo, as well as my feelings for all of you. So here is another song. For those of you who know me from here, I am a HUGE Bon Jovi fan, and have already posted 2 of their songs.( One in here, death and dying support, and the other in the memorial and tribute section). This song was written by their guitarist, and appears on his second solo album.
Take this one for what it means to you, as for me, it means WE are not alone in our grief, and our animals were not alone when we had to let them go. It also speaks to me as if Cosmo was telling me, "You're Not Alone." I hope it helps soothe any and all of you who choose to read it. It soothes me, sometimes through tears, and sometimes through encouragement.

YOU'RE NOT ALONE- Richie Sambora ( from his Undiscovered Soul album, track 6)

You can be a million miles away, I will always love you
You can be a thousand thoughts away, I'll be thinking of you
No matter where you try to hide, you're always gonna find me
Right where I belong, been here beside you all along

Like some ancient star forever, we'll remain
Even if the sky should ever fall from grace
If I die or fade away, in the end you'll always know...
You're not alone
You're not alone

You can change your face to someone else, still I won't forget you
When you're feeling lost inside yourself, I will come and get you
Now the only saviour you can find is something you believe in
Deep inside your heart, you might believe in me

Like some ancient star forever, we'll remain
Even if our love would ever fall from grace
If I die or fade away, in the end you'll always know...

I know you've got your fears and doubts, they're weighing on your mind
But something's gonna save you, you're gonna see the truth inside
I'll be right beside you, when your world tears you apart
On your back just like a shadow, no matter where you are

Like some ancient star forever, we'll remain
Even if the sky should ever fall from grace
If I die or fade away, in the end you'll always know....
You're not alone
You're not alone
You're not alone
You're not alone
You're not alone

YOU'RE NOT ALONE

I am thinking of all of you and your babies as you try to find life without them.
Peace, Love, and Prayers,
Michelle

Crying as I read this song. Just put my sweet baby boy (14-year-old orange tabby, Pumpkin) to sleep this morning. I lost someone very precious to me. Life will never be the same. Thank you for sharing about Cosmos. You know what I'm going through.

Fifteen plus months without my precious little Hannah and even now, today, I am in the depths of despair, feeling utterly alone in this world -- but your song helped. Thank you.

Thanks to all of you here on this thread. I really felt so many emotions when I listened to this song, it had been a few months since I last heard it, then I listened to it 9 days after losing Cosmo, and oh how the tears flowed. I kept it to myself up until my post, but after reading how many souls feel alone in their lives with their friends and family, I thought it would be best to share it here. I want everyone to feel like I do when I read the words, because of this forum, we are NOT ALONE.
I have read from some people that they believe our animals will return in the souls of other pets, I'm not sure what to make of that, but if it's true, I hope I get to be the one who gets Cosmo's soul again. The song holds true for this, "you can change your face to someone else, still I won't forget you."
I hope you are all doing well, and not feeling alone, because all of us here, sadly, are not alone in our loss. Thank God we have such a loving place to come to, to share our feelings with people whom we can trust, and who understand.
Take care, I'm sending you loving thoughts and prayers,
Love,
Michelle
